Personally, I always like realistic characters, with natural fur colours and eye colours, and a believable backstory, but I would never judge someone for creating a bright pink Cat with purple eyes and wings, because everyone has a right to create what they want. I mean a cat that was unrealistic and a Mary Sue, or Gary Sue (someone that’s has unfair advantages like being able to fly, use magic, etc,) probably wouldn’t be the best for a non magic roleplay or story, but if someone just wants to create a cool looking character or draw some nice looking art, then what’s the problem in that?
I actually have Warrior cats Character that got Magic. But i got here why: Oldy was Born was Kittypet. After her Brother Bailey attacked a Male Twolegs, she went out. But she got tired And fell asleep. Star Clan found her. She was in for a long time, And.. SHE HAD A KIT?!? But OldStrike ( Oldy ) became aggresive. She was banned with her kit. She leaved the kit alone. Thats why She does have a bit of Powers, Like Teleport, and turning into other Creatures. But i do make her normal. And act normal. A tomcat with thick yet fluffy creamy golden brown fur and dark brown patches on his eyes and muzzle. Along with dark down half gloved front paws and full gloved back paws. He also has golden brown eyes with just a hint of yellowish orange.

Smokerdoodles - yeah.. the same cat is at his intro in all his videos. even if the cat was pure white, it still wouldn't make it albino. albino cats have very very pale blue eyes with tints of red, and have very bad eyesight and very sensitive skin. there's much more to albinos than just a white cat.
GUYS! If your OC has unrealistic markings, of names such as " Eclipspelt" or "Emeraldpaws" how about you just make it A character, not a WARRIOR cat character? I think it would go well with accerories and their own backstorys. You will not have to worry about all the warrior cat rules and ranks... Pine Needle yes, but emerald is also a type of green. Just like silver is a metallic grey color and gold (usually called golden, as to distinguish it from the mineral) is a yellow-orange color.
unnatural colors without realistic explanation are always bad. want a character with green paws? (look to lower comment) then say they accidentally dipped it in some dye when some twolegs where having a family reunion where they where tie-dying shirts.
I didnt mean to cause a war in my comment. Im just saying I prefer to stick to biologically correct rules when I create characters. Sure, my first character took some improvement to become good and not a Mary Sue, but I improved her like I said. You can have creativity, just not with characters based of real things such as cats, dogs, humans, and any other real animals. If it is in a magical universe or fandom, than that's acceptable.
FoxWolf 273 just because a character is based off a real animal means it has to be really realistic? no.. character designs can be just fine or even amazing without natural colors as long as they blend well.

Well yeah let people do whatever you want but that doesn't mean you need to sugarcoat if they ask for criticism. If they're Justin having fun they shouldn't need criticism nor would only be helpful. And it's my experience that characters like flamefur tend to repel people from wanting to rp with you because op characters are not fun. That's just reality and that's not a bad thing. Wanting people to do better is never a bad thing as long as you're polite about it

This was well thought out and I loved the "contest" they had to make a point. The talk about what not to do in regards to character building seems to be the same thing on repeat in most cases, but you manage to make it feel fresh and new! I just started watching your videos and I want to tell you to keep up the good work!

This is one of my OCS. Shes pretty new, ut i think she could be a good oc if i expand her Name : OakStar , Warrior Name : OakFur She was born into windclan, But was exiled because of her high agression and zero tolerance. Then as a rouge, She became more calm and tolerant. Then she joined Thunderclan in hope of a new life. But she soon learned that cats there were not happy with her calmness. So she left them and rebuilt Riverclan. But she didnt feel at home there either, so she lef the clan and became a rouge for a week, She was very depressed and wanted to ask starclan how they felt about it. But on her way to Moonstone she died in the gorge. Now shes a normal starclan cat, She has a tendecy to threathen sending cats with low tolerance to the dark forest. Shes light brown, with darker spots and stripes and one green eye. (( I know she has a bit of a twisted past buut her personality is pretty okay i think
Backstory is a little bit confusing considering clans don't let just any cat join. Also, how did she even become a leader? How did she die? Personality is believable however, same goes for her warrior name and appearance. Just fix the points I pointed out as confusing and you'll have a pretty good character ;)
oak fur is an .... ok charater I think this because she has been in multiple clans and clans don't just randomly take in some rouge that romes the forest , how did she even become leader , then say " I don't like it any more , leave the clan as a out cast , then randomly while going to moon stones lose all 9 lives that oak star was given 2 her by star clan , y so quick to be the leader

Name- BlizzardStrike Age- 52 moons Gender- Male Personality- BlizzardStrike is rambunctious and violent. He gets overly excited in battle, and becomes a tornado of blind rage. However good his fighting may be, he is horrid at being social. He's strange, and an outcast. He doesn't know how to speak well with others. He has good ideas, but can't express himself correctly. He's also extremely stubborn, and a bit self centered. Looks- He's a pale grey with darker leopard like spots. He has a dark streak that runs from his nose to the tip of his tail, down his back. He had deep forest green eyes. Backstory- Even as a kit, he would often be way to violent. He was born in ShadowClan, and hated himself because he thought he didn't fit in. He was loud and terrible at being quiet. His parents named him BlizzardKit, because he often raged on like a blizzard would. When he went into his first battle, he accidentally killed an apprentice who was younger then him. In his shame, he ran off, and joined SkyClan. But there, he was even more of an outcast. He couldn't climb well and would fall a ton. And so, he ran back to ShadowClan. They welcomed him, and made him a warrior. They called him "BlizzardStrike". He became a respected member, strange, but a good strategizer and fighter. He went back into a battle, and a bunch of apprentices Ganged up on him. They had heard the stories of him killing the apprentice in battle. The five apprentices were overwhelming him, and no cat came to help. He shoved one off, and the apprentices skull was shattered on a large rock. The apprentices accused him of killing that apprentice, and pulled their Clan into a full on war. BlizzardStrike was scared, as the apprentices (from WindClan) had waged a huge war with ShadowClan. They pulled ThunderClan in as well. ShadowClan desperately got RiverClan, but SkyClan rejected ShadowClan, because of BlizzardStrike. So, SkyClan stayed away. The clans fought hard, and soon the ground became wet with sticky blood. BlizzardStrike had a male named WolfSong, who bore him three kits. WolfSong had to go to the war, and was killed, leaving BlizzardStrike, and three kits. The final battle approached, as BlizzardStrike knew he'd have to strike at the heart of WindClan. He made a strategy, and it was followed. It won the war, but two ofBlizzardStrike's kits died. FernPaw and GingerPaw were buried in ShadowClan territory. So, how do you like it?

I normally use a mixture between realistic and unrealistic. My main eight OCs each have a slight power, but each one also comes with disadvantages that counter them. My sona, Lightwhisper, can sense herbs. She can feel their name, but doesn't always know what use they have. And sometimes her power falters and leads her to sticks and flowering bushes. I never use this power in a roleplay but it's fun to have in her story. She starts to use it less as she gets older. Lightwhisper was also apprenticed to the medicine-cat at half a moon old right after she started having dying fits {sort of like Shadowsight's seizures}. Her heart stops beating for about a day and she's either floating above her body or in StarClan with her dead sister. Being apprenticed at that age was rough for her. Her remaining two siblings hated her, the other apprentices bullied her, and she constantly got in the way of everyone. Even though she was technically an apprentice, she was put in charge of sorting herbs only and only went to a gathering once. I don't usually like unrealistic cats, but if they have enough faults in them, they're okay.
Here is my old oc, anybody can take her if they want, I no longer use her. Name: Cloudface Gender: She-cat Appearance: Pure white she-cat with blue eyes and a fluffy pelt. Personality: Bubbly, reckless, bouncy, annoying, bossy. Backstory: Born to Redflame (ThunderClan father) and Suntail (WindClan mother), Cloudkit was raised in ThunderClan since Suntail didn't believe she would be able to raise Cloudkit. As an apprentice, she received the mentor Goldthorn. When she went hunting for the first time, she was about to catch a mouse but was disturbed by an older apprentice, Badgerpaw. He apologised to an angry Cloudpaw and ran away. A battle broke out between ShadowClan and ThunderClan. Cloudpaw had already been injured by falling off a tree in training and could not fight. Featherpaw, one of Cloudpaw's friends, had to stay behind too, because she wasn't a very good fighter and Brackenstar said she should stay and guard camp. After the patrol left, Featherpaw and Cloudpaw snook into ShadowClan territory, hoping to fight. But, they had to cross the Thunderpath. Featherpaw' tail was ran over, but Cloudpaw wasn't injured. the rest if her apprentice life can be added, but something in her warrior life.. As a warrior, Cloudface had to go into battle against WindClan, since a WindClan patrol was found hunting on ThunderClan territory. Cloudface killed her mother, Suntail, because one of the WindClan warriors killed Cedarpaw and she wanted revenge. Redflame, in front of everybody who was still fighting, mourned deeply for Suntail but forgave Cloudface straight away, being the sympathetic cat he was. Cloudface became mates with Badgerstripe and had two kits, Mousekit(tail) and Dusk-kit(foot). When Badgerstripe died and Mousetail and Duskfoot were warriors, she became mates with another tom, Orangewhisker. They had one kit, Squirrelkit(tail), but adopted Nutkit(heart). Anything about her can be changed! Badgerstripe was Badgerpaw. He is a black tom with a white stripe running down his back and amber eyes. He is aggressive, protective but has a good sense of humour. Mousetail is a small pure white she-cat with amber eyes and a long tail. She is snappy, harsh, and rude. Duskfoot is a black tom with white stripes and blue eyes. He is determined and obedient. Orangewhisker is a slim ginger tabby tom with white stripes and yellow eyes. He is wise, clever, good with words, and gentle. Squirreltail is a ginger tabby tom with white stripes and yellow eyes. He is also clever, feisty, and a natural leader. He becomes Squirrelstar one day. Nutheart is a ginger she-cat with a white underbelly and amber eyes. She is confident and head-strong. Suntail is a ginger and white patched she-cat with green eyes. She is smart, can be harsh, and determined. Redflame is a thick-furred ginger, black and white tom (not tortoiseshell) with blue eyes. He is sympathetic, forgiving, and understanding.
I’m wondering why the parents didn’t try to get in a single clan together? I mean the mom literally had a fling then dumped her child on the guy and seemingly never showed up to be in their lives till getting killed..no cat would kill their mother if they had a bond with them going on especially for something another cat did.
When I was around 10 i had an OC named Cursepaw who had black fur and violet eyes with bangs covering her left eye. When she got too close to a cat personally and emotionally her eyes would turn red and she would get possessed by a Dark Forest cat. She also resided in SunClan(made up clan) with two toms in love with her lmao. her personality was basically "dark, emo, mysterious, shy, quiet." and aCK Now, a few years later my main OC is Cricketspark, a white and black fluffy she-cat with amber eyes. She resides in ShadowClan and has no desire to become leader or have kits whatsoever. She gets irritated quite easily and can snap at you for the smallest things. despite this, she is quite logical and likes to think outside the box. *who do you think is better?*
greentails but you're missing some points here; two toms were in love with her, her eyes changed color, her personality screamed cliché, and her eyes changed color. A Mary-sue can also have powers or unnecessary things like that to make what they are. Therefore Cursepaw is a Mary-sue. Cricketspark doesn't have any unnecessary powers or details, I tried making her personality relatable and uncommon among OC's. I gave her an appearance actual cats can have, and I gave her an unusual backstory. That's why Cricketspark is better, and I believe I improved with creating OC's over time as I matured and gained more knowledge on genetics. But hey if you think Cursepaw is still better then good for you mate.
The one with the rainbow tail looks almost exactly like an OC of mine, but she's not a warrior OC and her alternate warrior version is a tortoiseshell and white that is completely white with the black and orange only on the tail.

I know blue eyes are generally associated with white furred cats, but I’ll use them (sparingly) as long as the cat has some kind of white coloring on them.
I used to be a hater for your advice even though I still had good pelt colors like just stripes and spots and more flaws then strengths, but I'm agreeing with you now. People actually are going SO wrong! I finally realize how real it has to be, even though I know HAZEL EYES ARE BEST XD
I always tried to make my OCs good characters. My first OC was Appleleaf. I basically looked at a picture of an abysian (don’t remember how to spell it) cat imagined it with dark green eyes and named it Appleleaf. I love the name and the appearance. She didn’t have much of a personality and was as boring as cardboard and had nothing interesting going on, except for the fact she was a deputy. Overtime I felt less connected to Appleleaf and I felt like changing her. Thus, Nightleaf was born. She’s a black she-cat with with white flecks and mint green eyes. I know a black cat with white flecks is impossible but I’m happy with her. I combined two things I like into one. The night and mint green. Her personality was similar to mine because I wanted this OC to be like me. She’s creative, smart and a bit extroverted, but she’s easily angered, is sometimes insensitive towards others and she doesn’t really listen to people she considers unimportant to her, even when they’re right. Nightleaf is now a regular Warrior with a loving mate, a white tabby tom with orange splotches, his name is Orangestripe. Her only kit, Forestfire, becomes leader. She now has more personality and is overall a better OC. If anyone has an idea of how to truly improve my character then I’m all ears.

Fuzzy nose and Snake gaze. her father was in a clan, but to be fair her two siblings were taken into the clan and she was a loner. two moons later she met her brothers and her mom told her about the clan her father and siblings were, they were planning on going there together so she wouldnt be so lonely anymore. without seeing a monster running by Worm belly, who was Smores at the time when she was a loner ran across about to be run over but her mother came and knocked her off the path, getting crushed herself.. to this day she remembers the heart breaking words her mother told her when she was dying.. "stop crying and give me that goofy smile of you'res." two moons later she was found on shadow clan's border. doing a sad attempt at hunting for herself. This oc suffers from images from dreams she had and her mothers death. she never found her father but found her siblings two moons later when she was four moons the death she shall have is: A tree fell onto the ice (during leaf bare) causing it to crack while she was on it. sadly this character never knew how to swim, so she sank to the bottom her last breath is when she saw her parents floating infront of her, handing out a paw for their only daughter. *GO AHEAD, LAUGH. Gender: she-cat Well she got bronze because of her Shiney light brown coat it doesn't shine all the time but in the sun yeah its Shiney Age: 15 moons old Siblings: turtleshell, (tom) orangestripe, (tom) glaciereye (she-cat) Mother: Strikeeye Father: lightningstripe Former clan: Thunderclan; but is now a Rouge Traits: kind at times and understanding Flaws: easy to anger and holds grudges but she's fine sometimes when she's calm. Description: light brown she cat with a Shiney pelt and bright green eyes with a white underbelly and muzzle, she also has a scar on her tail. Just like her father she has dark brown lighting shaped stripes but there really poorly shaped. Backstory: Bronzekit was mentally abused by her mother why you ask? Well bronzekit was born with a Shiney pelt that attracted pretators (mostly falcons) her mother would always say she was lucky she didn't kill her at birth. Her mother would leave her in the nursery so pretators won't attack the clan. Over time as she grew to be 6 moons old, she was a sighed to be a medicine cat, but bronze fur wanted to be a warrior just like her brothers and sister. Her mother would never talk to her only her other kits she would say she's proud of them in front of bronzefur but, when she did look at her it was full of hate and disappointment. Later on bronze fur was given a chance to be a warrior, she trained with other apprentices but, she would fight like like it was a real battle she nearly killed another apprentice, for her punishment she could never be allowed to be a warrior. Bronzefur broke and at the dead of night she killed her mother. Knowing what would happen next, she ran away from the clan and roams the forest as a Rouge, still angry at nearly every cat in her clan and is waiting for her revenge. (Hope she's not a bad character)

She doesn't think much of the warrior code, some of her friends are in half clan relationships and she is willing to help hide them and guide them through it, cats spread leadership rumours about her, but she was killed by her own leader, Darkstar, driven mad. Name: Foxtail Gender: She-Cat Clan: MistClan (formally) now StormClan Traits: Shy and reserved, very protective of her siblings, Duskfall and Whisptail, Creative, but can be daft sometimes. Foxtail is currently alive
My first character when I was 8 was Sweetflower, an evil medicine cat from the Dark Forest, (formerly WindClan) who killed several cats due to the commands which were given by a couple of warriors from there. She sometimes shows up in the dreams of young kits claiming that she is a StarClan cat there to help them, and leads them to the role of deputy and often asks for them to kill their leaders, and once that had been done she would try to gain full command of the leader and rule the clan. This almost succeeded once or twice, but she usually gave up. Basically, a med with a lust for power.
I think OC means to make your own character lol so ima do it for fun Name: Nightpaw A she-cat Traits: Sweet, Hot tempered when mad, loyal, friendly, strong, fast Clan: Shadowclan/ Thunderclan Looks: black, sleek fur, red eyes, fluffy tail, fur hangs over left eye, thin Role: Apprentice Backstory: Nightpaw was out on a hunting patrol and got attacked by a fox. She became scarred and lost half of her hearing which made it difficult to hear. When she came back her clan mates said it would be best to become a medicine cat or an early elder (very early xD) but she wouldn't give up so she kept being a warrior and started hunting again soon after her recovery. One day she came across a kitty pet named shadow. He said he ran away from his owners so she brought him back to the clan. Nobody wanted him so she argued with the leader until she had enough of it. She told him she was going out to hunt. She went out and discovered that same fox was still lurking around on their territory. She wanted to prove to her clan that she could fight but ended up almost dying. Luckily a patrol of river clan saw her fighting near the border and decided to help her. She lost a piece of her tail and she broke some ribs and a leg. Her leader told her to rest and when she's better they would find a place for her in the clan. They said she needed to be a medicine cat of become an elder. She said no and they said there's no other choice. So she ran out of camp and never came back until a fight occurred on their territory and the fight was with Thunderclan. Soon Shadowclan discovered she was part of them. Shadowclan's leader flung at her but she quickly dodged and jumped on to the leader. After he shook her off he yelled retreat. When they were leaving the kitty pet shadow looked back at her with sorrow in his eyes. Regret swelled in her. She knew she had made a mistake.... Look, I get people can do wathever they want with their OC's, but PLEASE don't use unrealistic colors and/or hair. PLEASE! Do what you want, just BAN these two things out of Warriors OC's (and all OC's in general)

All ocs in general? I disagree. Lots of fursonas or normal animal ocs with no “fandom” or “community” have unrealistic colors or hair, and I don’t hate it, people have freedom. But I agree with the warrior cats part

If you guys have a mary sue or don't know yet here is some helpful tips 1: make sure your oc has some flaws and weaknesses 2: normal cat colors I normally have fun with my colors like my oc lavender ( still working on her name) her face is half grey tabby half brown tabby with both those colors scattered around her body her eyes are blue and amber :3 when ever there's a battle or just a fight in general always come out with at least a 4 wounds If you don't want to follow these idc I just thought I'd be helpful :D

This video makes a wonderful point. I used to be a cringey fnaf fan with a puppet re color oc and I grew from that. I found that I could be free. It was because I didn't have people criticizing me that I grew to become a good character creator. I think the best way to start making characters is doing whatever you feel like doing.
Ima tell yall about one of my warrior's ultimate characters or an OC, she gets her backstory from an actual RP too. Name: Frosted'moth Markings: Frosted'moth is a blueish-grey she-cat with a white underbelly, paws, tail tip, and ear tips. She also has dark blueish-grey stripes and tail, along with very pale blue eyes. She has a fluffy tail, head, and neck. Personality: Stubborn, disrespectful, and annoying most of the time, she can be lazy, plus she attacked members of her own clan. She prefers to attack clans from the inside. Backstory: She at first was only a stubborn and annoying kit that hated her brother, but this evolved as a warrior. She got into a fight with him on a patrol and their father tried to stop them, but was killed by her brother, ignoring the fact her father just died and her brother was seriously injured, she had a perfect plan to finally get rid of her brother. She stuffed death berries into one of the rabbits in the fresh-kill pile and offered it to her brother, poisoning and killing him. After this, she got into the habit of attacking clanmates, and her next victim she killed with her own claws, picking up a buddy along the way. She eventually pushed the deputy off the gorge and was later announced the deputy. The other stuff in her backstory is just unnecessary info. My personal rating of the character: 8/10, I think I could do better, but she's a really cool character. There's Frosted'moth, what do you guys think of her? Tell me your ratings in the replies. Edit: I made more to her story! After attacking Riverclan, she went over to thunder clan and attacked them. This is also from an RP, she became deputy after her first kill and then became leader... it was a short RP. Now you may be wondering, what caused her to suddenly kill her brother after at least a year of letting him live? Well, I decided I was gonna introduce my most treasured edgy OC... and have Frosted to have trained with Lantern in the dark forest, my first character who has a full story and death. But after she attacked the two clans Lantern betrays her and sorta leads her into a cave while it's raining... I got inspiration from something to do that, it flooded and Frosted drowned. Sorta think it's edgy but hey what's wrong with being edgy if it's not hurting anyone?

I think when Torrentpath heard you say "compromise" he thought, *One blue eye, one yellow!* I legit have never thought of that till just now, watching this for like the tenth time.
I remember my very first warrior cats OC. Scarstar, a black she-cat with one blue eye (the other was torn out in battle when she was an apprentice), who was, you guessed it, covered in scars. I just remember giving her the most painful backstory - kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome, adultery, the death of her mate, losing a lot, etc. But she became leader of Mountain Clan, it's all good 😉😅
I personally lean more on a realistic side with a twinge of interesting characteristics. And I'd absolutely love any criticism on my character! Her name is Jaywatcher. She is a slender, cream colored cat with light brown tabby splotches, a long tail, multicolored eyes (one blue, one amber), and feathered ears. She has two visible scars; a small, hardly noticeable one on her muzzle, and a more prominent one on her leg. She lived previously as a rouge (later joining Marshclan), wearing two specific feathers around her neck; a blue jay feather, and a pigeon feather. Her personality is curious, often eager to learn new things and teach her skills to younger accomplices. She is partially strict towards her students, but most often kind, and respectful to her clanmates.
When I first saw the cover of one of ur videos on You Tube, I saw Gladepaw and I was like, "Hawkfrost?" Because I thought the eyes were blue. That was a scary moment.

Personally, I always like realistic characters, with natural fur colours and eye colours, and a believable backstory, but I would never judge someone for creating a bright pink Cat with purple eyes and wings, because everyone has a right to create what they want. I mean a cat that was unrealistic and a Mary Sue, or Gary Sue (someone that’s has unfair advantages like being able to fly, use magic, etc,) probably wouldn’t be the best for a non magic roleplay or story, but if someone just wants to create a cool looking character or draw some nice looking art, then what’s the problem in that?

Oldy was Born was Kittypet. After her Brother Bailey attacked a Male Twolegs, she went out. But she got tired And fell asleep.
Star Clan found her.
She was in for a long time,
And.. SHE HAD A KIT?!?
But OldStrike ( Oldy ) became aggresive.
She was banned with her kit.
She leaved the kit alone.
Thats why She does have a bit of Powers,

But i do make her normal. And act normal. She uses powers only if we play RP with powers.

I have Warriors OCs with non natural fur and eye colors. For example, one cat OC I have is named Sunpaw. A tomcat with thick yet fluffy creamy golden brown fur and dark brown patches on his eyes and muzzle. Along with dark down half gloved front paws and full gloved back paws. He also has golden brown eyes with just a hint of yellowish orange.

Sure, my first character took some improvement to become good and not a Mary Sue, but I improved her like I said. You can have creativity, just not with characters based of real things such as cats, dogs, humans, and any other real animals. If it is in a magical universe or fandom, than that's acceptable.

Well yeah let people do whatever you want but that doesn't mean you need to sugarcoat if they ask for criticism. If they're Justin having fun they shouldn't need criticism nor would only be helpful. And it's my experience that characters like flamefur tend to repel people from wanting to rp with you because op characters are not fun. That's just reality and that's not a bad thing. Wanting people to do better is never a bad thing as long as you're polite about it

This was awesome it really addressed all the points perfectly! I agree on the fun part and letting one’s imagination run wild. That’s what makes character making fun! Whilst I do try to make well-developed characters, sometimes they get out of hand. But that’s okay! “Cringy” OCs are good! They give you a solid starting base and something to work with!

She was born into windclan, But was exiled because of her high agression and zero tolerance. Then as a rouge, She became more calm and tolerant. Then she joined Thunderclan in hope of a new life. But she soon learned that cats there were not happy with her calmness. So she left them and rebuilt Riverclan. But she didnt feel at home there either, so she lef the clan and became a rouge for a week, She was very depressed and wanted to ask starclan how they felt about it. But on her way to Moonstone she died in the gorge. Now shes a normal starclan cat, She has a tendecy to threathen sending cats with low tolerance to the dark forest. Shes light brown, with darker spots and stripes and one green eye. (( I know she has a bit of a twisted past buut her personality is pretty okay i think
Backstory is a little bit confusing considering clans don't let just any cat join. Also, how did she even become a leader? How did she die? Personality is believable however, same goes for her warrior name and appearance. Just fix the points I pointed out as confusing and you'll have a pretty good character ;)
oak fur is an .... ok charater I think this because she has been in multiple clans and clans don't just randomly take in some rouge that romes the forest , how did she even become leader , then say " I don't like it any more , leave the clan as a out cast , then randomly while going to moon stones lose all 9 lives that oak star was given 2 her by star clan , y so quick to be the leader

Personality- BlizzardStrike is rambunctious and violent. He gets overly excited in battle, and becomes a tornado of blind rage. However good his fighting may be, he is horrid at being social. He's strange, and an outcast. He doesn't know how to speak well with others. He has good ideas, but can't express himself correctly. He's also extremely stubborn, and a bit self centered.
Looks- He's a pale grey with darker leopard like spots. He has a dark streak that runs from his nose to the tip of his tail, down his back. He had deep forest green eyes.
Backstory- Even as a kit, he would often be way to violent. He was born in ShadowClan, and hated himself because he thought he didn't fit in. He was loud and terrible at being quiet. His parents named him BlizzardKit, because he often raged on like a blizzard would. When he went into his first battle, he accidentally killed an apprentice who was younger then him. In his shame, he ran off, and joined SkyClan. But there, he was even more of an outcast. He couldn't climb well and would fall a ton. And so, he ran back to ShadowClan. They welcomed him, and made him a warrior. They called him "BlizzardStrike". He became a respected member, strange, but a good strategizer and fighter. He went back into a battle, and a bunch of apprentices Ganged up on him. They had heard the stories of him killing the apprentice in battle. The five apprentices were overwhelming him, and no cat came to help. He shoved one off, and the apprentices skull was shattered on a large rock. The apprentices accused him of killing that apprentice, and pulled their Clan into a full on war. BlizzardStrike was scared, as the apprentices (from WindClan) had waged a huge war with ShadowClan. They pulled ThunderClan in as well. ShadowClan desperately got RiverClan, but SkyClan rejected ShadowClan, because of BlizzardStrike. So, SkyClan stayed away. The clans fought hard, and soon the ground became wet with sticky blood. BlizzardStrike had a male named WolfSong, who bore him three kits. WolfSong had to go to the war, and was killed, leaving BlizzardStrike, and three kits. The final battle approached, as BlizzardStrike knew he'd have to strike at the heart of WindClan. He made a strategy, and it was followed. It won the war, but two ofBlizzardStrike's kits died. FernPaw and GingerPaw were buried in ShadowClan territory.
So, how do you like it?

I normally use a mixture between realistic and unrealistic.
My main eight OCs each have a slight power, but each one also comes with disadvantages that counter them. My sona, Lightwhisper, can sense herbs. She can feel their name, but doesn't always know what use they have. And sometimes her power falters and leads her to sticks and flowering bushes. I never use this power in a roleplay but it's fun to have in her story. She starts to use it less as she gets older.
Lightwhisper was also apprenticed to the medicine-cat at half a moon old right after she started having dying fits {sort of like Shadowsight's seizures}. Her heart stops beating for about a day and she's either floating above her body or in StarClan with her dead sister.
Being apprenticed at that age was rough for her. Her remaining two siblings hated her, the other apprentices bullied her, and she constantly got in the way of everyone. Even though she was technically an apprentice, she was put in charge of sorting herbs only and only went to a gathering once.
I don't usually like unrealistic cats, but if they have enough faults in them, they're okay.

Name: Cloudface
Gender: She-cat
Appearance: Pure white she-cat with blue eyes and a fluffy pelt.
Personality: Bubbly, reckless, bouncy, annoying, bossy.
Backstory: Born to Redflame (ThunderClan father) and Suntail (WindClan mother), Cloudkit was raised in ThunderClan since Suntail didn't believe she would be able to raise Cloudkit. As an apprentice, she received the mentor Goldthorn. When she went hunting for the first time, she was about to catch a mouse but was disturbed by an older apprentice, Badgerpaw. He apologised to an angry Cloudpaw and ran away. A battle broke out between ShadowClan and ThunderClan. Cloudpaw had already been injured by falling off a tree in training and could not fight. Featherpaw, one of Cloudpaw's friends, had to stay behind too, because she wasn't a very good fighter and Brackenstar said she should stay and guard camp. After the patrol left, Featherpaw and Cloudpaw snook into ShadowClan territory, hoping to fight. But, they had to cross the Thunderpath. Featherpaw' tail was ran over, but Cloudpaw wasn't injured.

As a warrior, Cloudface had to go into battle against WindClan, since a WindClan patrol was found hunting on ThunderClan territory. Cloudface killed her mother, Suntail, because one of the WindClan warriors killed Cedarpaw and she wanted revenge. Redflame, in front of everybody who was still fighting, mourned deeply for Suntail but forgave Cloudface straight away, being the sympathetic cat he was. Cloudface became mates with Badgerstripe and had two kits, Mousekit(tail) and Dusk-kit(foot). When Badgerstripe died and Mousetail and Duskfoot were warriors, she became mates with another tom, Orangewhisker. They had one kit, Squirrelkit(tail), but adopted Nutkit(heart).
Anything about her can be changed! Badgerstripe was Badgerpaw. He is a black tom with a white stripe running down his back and amber eyes.
He is aggressive, protective but has a good sense of humour.
Mousetail is a small pure white she-cat with amber eyes and a long tail. She is snappy, harsh, and rude.
Duskfoot is a black tom with white stripes and blue eyes. He is determined and obedient.
Orangewhisker is a slim ginger tabby tom with white stripes and yellow eyes. He is wise, clever, good with words, and gentle.
Squirreltail is a ginger tabby tom with white stripes and yellow eyes. He is also clever, feisty, and a natural leader. He becomes Squirrelstar one day.
Nutheart is a ginger she-cat with a white underbelly and amber eyes. She is confident and head-strong.
Suntail is a ginger and white patched she-cat with green eyes. She is smart, can be harsh, and determined.
Redflame is a thick-furred ginger, black and white tom (not tortoiseshell) with blue eyes. He is sympathetic, forgiving, and understanding.

I mean the mom literally had a fling then dumped her child on the guy and seemingly never showed up to be in their lives till getting killed..no cat would kill their mother if they had a bond with them going on especially for something another cat did.

When I was around 10 i had an OC named Cursepaw who had black fur and violet eyes with bangs covering her left eye. When she got too close to a cat personally and emotionally her eyes would turn red and she would get possessed by a Dark Forest cat.
She also resided in SunClan(made up clan) with two toms in love with her lmao.
her personality was basically "dark, emo, mysterious, shy, quiet." and aCK
Now, a few years later my main OC is Cricketspark, a white and black fluffy she-cat with amber eyes.
She resides in ShadowClan and has no desire to become leader or have kits whatsoever. She gets irritated quite easily and can snap at you for the smallest things.
despite this, she is quite logical and likes to think outside the box.

A Mary-sue can also have powers or unnecessary things like that to make what they are. Therefore Cursepaw is a Mary-sue.
Cricketspark doesn't have any unnecessary powers or details, I tried making her personality relatable and uncommon among OC's. I gave her an appearance actual cats can have, and I gave her an unusual backstory.
That's why Cricketspark is better, and I believe I improved with creating OC's over time as I matured and gained more knowledge on genetics.
But hey if you think Cursepaw is still better then good for you mate.

The one with the rainbow tail looks almost exactly like an OC of mine, but she's not a warrior OC and her alternate warrior version is a tortoiseshell and white that is completely white with the black and orange only on the tail.

I always tried to make my OCs good characters.
My first OC was Appleleaf. I basically looked at a picture of an abysian (don’t remember how to spell it) cat imagined it with dark green eyes and named it Appleleaf. I love the name and the appearance. She didn’t have much of a personality and was as boring as cardboard and had nothing interesting going on, except for the fact she was a deputy.
Overtime I felt less connected to Appleleaf and I felt like changing her.
Thus, Nightleaf was born.
She’s a black she-cat with with white flecks and mint green eyes. I know a black cat with white flecks is impossible but I’m happy with her. I combined two things I like into one. The night and mint green.
Her personality was similar to mine because I wanted this OC to be like me. She’s creative, smart and a bit extroverted, but she’s easily angered, is sometimes insensitive towards others and she doesn’t really listen to people she considers unimportant to her, even when they’re right.
Nightleaf is now a regular Warrior with a loving mate, a white tabby tom with orange splotches, his name is Orangestripe. Her only kit, Forestfire, becomes leader.
She now has more personality and is overall a better OC. If anyone has an idea of how to truly improve my character then I’m all ears.

Story: her parents, Pompeii and hawk gaze were in love, she had two other siblings. Fuzzy nose and Snake gaze. her father was in a clan, but to be fair her two siblings were taken into the clan and she was a loner. two moons later she met her brothers and her mom told her about the clan her father and siblings were, they were planning on going there together so she wouldnt be so lonely anymore. without seeing a monster running by Worm belly, who was Smores at the time when she was a loner ran across about to be run over but her mother came and knocked her off the path, getting crushed herself.. to this day she remembers the heart breaking words her mother told her when she was dying.. "stop crying and give me that goofy smile of you'res." two moons later she was found on shadow clan's border. doing a sad attempt at hunting for herself.
This oc suffers from images from dreams she had and her mothers death. she never found her father but found her siblings two moons later when she was four moons the death she shall have is:
A tree fell onto the ice (during leaf bare) causing it to crack while she was on it. sadly this character never knew how to swim, so she sank to the bottom her last breath is when she saw her parents floating infront of her, handing out a paw for their only daughter.

Name: Bronze fur; why that name?
Gender: she-cat
Well she got bronze because of her Shiney light brown coat it doesn't shine all the time but in the sun yeah its Shiney
Age: 15 moons old
Siblings: turtleshell, (tom) orangestripe, (tom) glaciereye (she-cat)
Mother: Strikeeye
Father: lightningstripe
Former clan: Thunderclan; but is now a Rouge
Traits: kind at times and understanding
Flaws: easy to anger and holds grudges but she's fine sometimes when she's calm.
Description: light brown she cat with a Shiney pelt and bright green eyes with a white underbelly and muzzle, she also has a scar on her tail.
Just like her father she has dark brown lighting shaped stripes but there really poorly shaped.
Backstory: Bronzekit was mentally abused by her mother why you ask? Well bronzekit was born with a Shiney pelt that attracted pretators (mostly falcons) her mother would always say she was lucky she didn't kill her at birth.
Her mother would leave her in the nursery so pretators won't attack the clan.
Over time as she grew to be 6 moons old, she was a sighed to be a medicine cat, but bronze fur wanted to be a warrior just like her brothers and sister. Her mother would never talk to her only her other kits she would say she's proud of them in front of bronzefur but, when she did look at her it was full of hate and disappointment.
Later on bronze fur was given a chance to be a warrior, she trained with other apprentices but, she would fight like like it was a real battle she nearly killed another apprentice, for her punishment she could never be allowed to be a warrior.
Bronzefur broke and at the dead of night she killed her mother. Knowing what would happen next, she ran away from the clan and roams the forest as a Rouge, still angry at nearly every cat in her clan and is waiting for her revenge.

My first character when I was 8 was Sweetflower, an evil medicine cat from the Dark Forest, (formerly WindClan) who killed several cats due to the commands which were given by a couple of warriors from there. She sometimes shows up in the dreams of young kits claiming that she is a StarClan cat there to help them, and leads them to the role of deputy and often asks for them to kill their leaders, and once that had been done she would try to gain full command of the leader and rule the clan. This almost succeeded once or twice, but she usually gave up. Basically, a med with a lust for power.

When she came back her clan mates said it would be best to become a medicine cat or an early elder (very early xD) but she wouldn't give up so she kept being a warrior and started hunting again soon after her recovery. One day she came across a kitty pet named shadow. He said he ran away from his owners so she brought him back to the clan. Nobody wanted him so she argued with the leader until she had enough of it. She told him she was going out to hunt. She went out and discovered that same fox was still lurking around on their territory. She wanted to prove to her clan that she could fight but ended up almost dying. Luckily a patrol of river clan saw her fighting near the border and decided to help her. She lost a piece of her tail and she broke some ribs and a leg. Her leader told her to rest and when she's better they would find a place for her in the clan. They said she needed to be a medicine cat of become an elder. She said no and they said there's no other choice. So she ran out of camp and never came back until a fight occurred on their territory and the fight was with Thunderclan. Soon Shadowclan discovered she was part of them. Shadowclan's leader flung at her but she quickly dodged and jumped on to the leader. After he shook her off he yelled retreat. When they were leaving the kitty pet shadow looked back at her with sorrow in his eyes. Regret swelled in her. She knew she had made a mistake....

2: normal cat colors I normally have fun with my colors like my oc lavender ( still working on her name) her face is half grey tabby half brown tabby with both those colors scattered around her body her eyes are blue and amber
:3 when ever there's a battle or just a fight in general always come out with at least a 4 wounds

My warrior OC is Blacktail, a ShadowClan warrior. She has dark grey fur, and has a big black spot on her tail, giving her the name. She has amber eyes, and a scar on her left ear from a battle.

This video makes a wonderful point. I used to be a cringey fnaf fan with a puppet re color oc and I grew from that. I found that I could be free. It was because I didn't have people criticizing me that I grew to become a good character creator. I think the best way to start making characters is doing whatever you feel like doing.

Ima tell yall about one of my warrior's ultimate characters or an OC, she gets her backstory from an actual RP too.
Name: Frosted'moth
Markings: Frosted'moth is a blueish-grey she-cat with a white underbelly, paws, tail tip, and ear tips. She also has dark blueish-grey stripes and tail, along with very pale blue eyes. She has a fluffy tail, head, and neck.
Personality: Stubborn, disrespectful, and annoying most of the time, she can be lazy, plus she attacked members of her own clan. She prefers to attack clans from the inside.
Backstory: She at first was only a stubborn and annoying kit that hated her brother, but this evolved as a warrior. She got into a fight with him on a patrol and their father tried to stop them, but was killed by her brother, ignoring the fact her father just died and her brother was seriously injured, she had a perfect plan to finally get rid of her brother. She stuffed death berries into one of the rabbits in the fresh-kill pile and offered it to her brother, poisoning and killing him. After this, she got into the habit of attacking clanmates, and her next victim she killed with her own claws, picking up a buddy along the way. She eventually pushed the deputy off the gorge and was later announced the deputy. The other stuff in her backstory is just unnecessary info.
My personal rating of the character: 8/10, I think I could do better, but she's a really cool character.

Edit: I made more to her story! After attacking Riverclan, she went over to thunder clan and attacked them. This is also from an RP, she became deputy after her first kill and then became leader... it was a short RP. Now you may be wondering, what caused her to suddenly kill her brother after at least a year of letting him live? Well, I decided I was gonna introduce my most treasured edgy OC... and have Frosted to have trained with Lantern in the dark forest, my first character who has a full story and death. But after she attacked the two clans Lantern betrays her and sorta leads her into a cave while it's raining... I got inspiration from something to do that, it flooded and Frosted drowned. Sorta think it's edgy but hey what's wrong with being edgy if it's not hurting anyone?

I legit have never thought of that till just now, watching this for like the tenth time.
I remember my very first warrior cats OC. Scarstar, a black she-cat with one blue eye (the other was torn out in battle when she was an apprentice), who was, you guessed it, covered in scars. I just remember giving her the most painful backstory - kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome, adultery, the death of her mate, losing a lot, etc. But she became leader of Mountain Clan, it's all good 😉😅

I personally lean more on a realistic side with a twinge of interesting characteristics. And I'd absolutely love any criticism on my character!
Her name is Jaywatcher.
She is a slender, cream colored cat with light brown tabby splotches, a long tail, multicolored eyes (one blue, one amber), and feathered ears.
She has two visible scars; a small, hardly noticeable one on her muzzle, and a more prominent one on her leg.
She lived previously as a rouge (later joining Marshclan), wearing two specific feathers around her neck; a blue jay feather, and a pigeon feather.
Her personality is curious, often eager to learn new things and teach her skills to younger accomplices. She is partially strict towards her students, but most often kind, and respectful to her clanmates.
When I first saw the cover of one of ur videos on You Tube, I saw Gladepaw and I was like,
"Hawkfrost?"
Because I thought the eyes were blue.
That was a scary moment.
After watching ur videos i finally made a believeable character thanks for ur halp :D
