Mr. Soriano is a great credit to the Norman’s Rare Guitars legacy. He knows the provenance and characteristics of the gems he presents with such a free flow of knowledge and history. Incidentally, the man can play!

You can't beat Brandon's specs, super thorough, lots to learn from them, great presenter, top notch, great playing. I always look forward to Brandon being the host. Every day of the week for me is flat top Friday due to 2 breast cancer mastectomies, and sometimes I notice guys intently staring at my chest, i must be having a semi hollow body wardrobe malfunction? Then I recall I'm wearing my Norman's Rare Guitars sweatshirt! Lots of serious interest in NRG from guitar playing guys in Truckee CA.

Even though I do not play a guitar (play mandolin) I have been watching Guitar of the Day for the past five years and a subscriber since then. My day is Flat top Friday. I enjoy the enthusiasm of all of the presenters from Lemmo to Rogo. I really enjoy Brandon’s’ explaining all the specifications and history. I have to include Jack, Nik and Angela, Jen (for her great videos) and especially Norm, for none of this would not be possible without him. Keep up the great work.

    Great sound on that Gibson.
Good explanation and playing by Brandon.
When the screws on the bridge (yuck) are taken out , it will sound even more amazing. My friend has a Gibson B 25.
It had a plastic bridge screwed in like the 100, and a plastic saddle. The bridge was changed to rosewood, no screws,
and bone nut. The difference was like night and day. Screws on a bridge is a no no.
What you call pre war, 1940, is not before the war. I've heard others use that terminology referring to guitars built during the war. Either way, 30's and 40's Gibsons are fantastic, as are Martins made then. They don't make them like they used to.
Norm and Jen , you are the constants. This is my favorite reality show.
The talent of Michael, Brandon, Jack...
    is special.
    Keep up the great work.

Really looks to be a "gently used" example if a model I've never seen. Sounds like it really wants to be played.

Strange seeing a dream guitar being described as the more affordable model of the time. Put that guitar in a small room like norms, and wow. The harmonic richness, like hearing your favourite records. Mahogany and maple neck - it's like something out of the late 70s les paul deluxe catalogue but that was war time America they could only make guitars with the woods they had, but what amazing woods they had. The banners were made by the local women of the sewing community, out of random combinations of what they could get, but the amazing design the quality of whatever wood they could get, launched thousands and thousands of records. When Brandon said it records well he was not joking. What an instrument what a tool for music. That neck...didn't see that one too often on the 70s deluxe, but they have their own magic to them - look at thin lizzy. More than good job as usual Brandon. Dream guitar - I liked the j200 but I always felt the j185 and the j100, you get the sound in a more manageable package. The shape of the j200 j185 and j100 is very reminiscent of a certain euro pean style (Spanish german italian) predating gibson being founded as a mandolin company. The sort of thing Martin was making as an apprentice before emigrating to new York and then nazereth. Tried and tested quality - my Wayne's World acoustic. I always like the early j185s rosewood body, but this one sound very special too. Always an education seeing Brandon on GOTD, and what a guitarist. Check out his solo career.the Cat - dj therapy/solo singer songwriter.many thanks.

Nice sounding guitar. Those 2 cracks on both sides of the fingerboard means that the neck has shifted forward towards the sound hole at one time. I bet that there have been cracks repaired at the sound hole as well. The tell tale sign is that the binding on either side of the fingerboard at the 14th fret droops downward.
