I think the mix up was that the headline was basically along the lines of "Lion in documentary dies after eating poisoned meat" or something and some people automatically assumed it was Misfit because they had most recently watched a documentary about him. However, the channel/show made several documentaries following different lions and Misfit was only one of them--I believe the lion that died (along with his brother and several other lions in their pride) was called Alan though I don't remember anymore. You can find articles about it naming the lion and his pride specifically.

      Misfit did not lead the hunt this time. The story about the lion cub, was a sad back story sold to an international audience more than willing to accept it, to make what would otherwise be just another documentary (the following up films) about lions we have seen many times before, become an international sensation with a large following. If you watch closely the physical and mental state of being of the lion cub in the first film, you realize that what is going on before your eyes, is the last legs of the life of a lion cub slowly dying from malnutrition. In addition, he is severely wounded and rejected time and again by his pride. It seems harsh, but as a sick weakling he is an undue burden to his stronger and more able siblings and cousins, so it is in the interest of the pride for him to die sooner rather than later. There is no way he could survive the state he was in at the end of the film about him as a runt. He most likely died days if not hours after the last film clip about him as a cub. .

The brother that Misfit has developed an inseparable bond with - is this the same brother that stopped to look back and wait for his little yelping brother? Wouldn’t that be something? I absolutely fell in love with the Misfit. Watching him from a small cub struggling to stay alive while being rejected! Then seeing his transformation. He is the definition of a Lion King. And an inspiration. His perseverance to LIVE warms my heart and literally brings me to tears of joy. I wish for an update and would love to see him fully grown with his beautiful mane, leading a pride of his own like the true king he is. Hopefully he partnered up with his brother. Side note: cried for days when we lost The Dreamer 😩. So sad what happens to these cubs. If anyone has an update on Misfit please share!

    • @TheLongSummer
      @TheLongSummer ปีที่แล้ว

      Your comment goes to prove how the film team succeeded with their disturbingly anthropomorphic narration. It is sad to witness a human being debasing herself to the level of a beast, which lack both reason and the able to think rationally. Confounding humans and animals as you do in your comment, do justice to neither man nor beast. It is just sad. By the way, he never prospered. He was born a runt, with no prospect of survival unless one of the other cubs died at an early age. His main function is to replace one of the more able and stronger cubs if they accidently die, which happens relatively often. However, apparently not in this case. The behavior of his mother and pride towards him can be explained within that context. All the judgements made on the rest of the lions as if they were humans do neither man nor beast any justice either, and reflects extremely badly on those who made those immature and silly comments, unworthy of any civilized human being with the capacity to think rationally.

I think humans have a tendency to use substances and anger to deal with those feelings when really they should try natural remedies.

      The so called "misfit" most likely died from starvation shortly after the first film was made. If you watch the physical and mental state of being of the cub in the first film, without being distracted by wishful thinking or sentimental feelings, you can see that he is seriously damaged by prolonged malnutrition. In addition, he is severely injured and abandoned by his pride, him being an undue burden to his more able and stronger siblings. There is no chance for such a creature to survive on its own for very long. Therefore he most likely died a long time ago, as he should being a runt and therefore only an insurance to the pride if one of the living and healthy cubs, accidently should die an early death, which they did not in his case.

      @@donnydcruz4889 Only if you accept the claim the youngster lion who shows up in film number two to be the same as the lion cub visibly on the brink of dying from starvation being abandoned once again by his pride at the end of film number one.
      If you watch the seriously undernourished lion cub (his ribs are protruding through his his skin, and there is no flesh on his bones) in the first film, limping from a serious injury, being constantly left behind by his pride, with ever less chance to catch up with them, you realize such a creature has no chance of survival in the wild.
      In addition, there is no evidence to back up claims he healed from his injuries or regained weight, beginning a normal physical development, since the prolonged malnutrition he has suffered, most likely his entire life, him being the runt of the litter, has given him a malformed body, which handicaps him even further.
      In total, all this evidence suggest the only skin and bones, seriously deformed cub on shaky skinny legs at the end of the first film never made it during the last day he was filmed, or the days to follow, and the film team cynically recreated him as a new lion to fit a block buster story about a dying underdog becoming a hero in the end. You apparently swallowed their false story without condition, confounding man with beast, doing justice to neither, and making false judgements about both. If you use your capacity for critical thinking for a moment, and leave wishful thinking and sentimental feelings aside, take a second look on the first film, and doing strict observations of the lion cub they call "misfit", you will realize that what you are watching is a lion cub slowly dying from severe malnutrition. In addition, he is severely injured and abandoned by his pride for good reason (survival of the fittest). There is no chance such an animal can survive for long in the wild. Therefore by all odds, he died a long time ago, and the rest of the documentary you enjoyed was a complete hoax, made to make you feel good about yourself, thus watching a documentary you would otherwise most likely would not bother to watch.

      In the harsh reality of mother nature, the weak does not become strong. They die, as this runt lion cub, most likely did, shortly after the first film was made. The narration was horrible, because it was loaded with anthropomorphic comments, doing no justice neither to beast nor man. The anthropomorphic bent of the narrator is probably so many people make silly and unworthy comments in the threads under these film clips, talking about the lions as if they were human beings and vice versa. The comments under these film clips about several lions put together under the false pretense to be about one dying lion cub turned hero, is a strong proof of the slow degeneration of the human kind today, at least in the west.

      If you talk about the lion cub slowly dying from prolonged malnutrition, it has nothing to do with bravery or persistence for living. What you see is a lion cub slowly dying from starvation in a malformed body causing him pain, due to said malnutrition. We witness his final death struggle, before his imminent and inevitable death from starvation. This is a film about mother nature not human civilization. The narrator has a disturbingly anthropomorphic bent in her narration, which prepares the ground for all the comments in these threads talking about the animals in the films, as if they were humans, doing neither justice to man or beast.
