I love the pride and Misfit had it rough growing up neglected by his mom, injured in a leg but he grew as a teen and stayed by his brother's side and learned the ropes on how to survive as a teen lion. You go Misfit I got your back! we're monitoring your journey in your life. We have seen you as an 8-week old cub.
You can see his leg is still damaged maybe not painful but probably never fully set and healed as he limps and he is much smaller than his bigger brother. I hope he is strong enough to survive in a few months alone with his brother for a few years. And then eventually to survive and have a pride of his own. 😭😭
They are all looking the same, how could we identify Misfit? Misfit growing up the same size with his brothers despite his mother rejected to fit him. My heart went out for him when his mother rejected him. 🥲😂
It amazes me how clever and organised the female lions are. The aunt choosing to be the decoy to help her pride extend the time needed to successfully hunt! That’s impressive👌

Depends on the breed . Check out Barbary Lions ( male ) . Officially extinct now although there are some hybrids . The Barbary Lions were around in Roman Times . Magnificent creatures 💟

DAMN I didn’t know hyena’s had twice the bite force of lions. I always thought lions didn’t fuck with them because they usually have more in their clan than the lions do in their prides.
From watching docs like this I realized how misunderstood hyenas are. I always thought the were like dogs, but they're more closely related to cats. Always thought they were scavengers but they kill something like 90% of their own meals and Lions actually scavenge way more than hyenas. Also a lions bite force isn't really all that strong, there are some breeds of dogs that have stronger bites. The lions teeth help a lot though.
Hyenas developed the teeth and jaw strength to pulverise bone so they can eat the marrow and hard to get tissues from a carcass. The scientific classification of the iconic Spotted Hyena is brutally named "Bone Crunching Hyenas."

misfit did not die cuz in the last video I saw when he was a cub, his mum rescued him when he was on the side of the cliff above the crocodile infested river by going to him & carrying him to safety in her mouth to save him from certain death by falling from the cliff straight into the waiting crocodiles mouth, the aunt & mum rescued him at the last minute.
No matter how much time I spend watching lions, I continue to be impressed by their intelligence, grace, and capabilities. Especially the lioness and how incredible the females are.
Look at the lioness’ expression at 2:41 watching the hyena😂😂it’s as if she’s thinking “what are you up to?” Or “don’t act all innocent, we see you and know what you’re doing!”.
She didn’t end up fully rejecting him. she allowed him to feed the next day. and one of his brother cubs waited for him, and then the entire pride waited

The clip you are referring to shows his mother let him suckle for less than 20 seconds with his siblings before she rejects him again, and leave him behind as so many times before, most likely to die, as for him not being a burden to his stronger and more able siblings. If you examine his physical state of being as he lies there suckling possibly for the last time in his life, you realize he is literally skin and bones, with the ribs protruding through his skin, there is no flesh on his bones and he is less than half the size of his siblings and the other cubs. This is clearly a cub that has suffered from malnutrition for a long time, and therefore he is severely damaged physically and mentally. The last is also evident in his erratic behavior throughout the documentary about him as a cub. Thus, there is zero chance of survival for this cub in the long run and the only sensible thing for his mother and the pride is to leave him behind to die as he most likely did shortly after the first film was made. This is the harsh truth of mother nature I am afraid.
He's Well Fit. It's a curse to keep calling him Misfit. Please allow him to elevate to a higher existence without being weighed down by negative energy. It's his destiny to survive & thrive.
I can't wait till we have silent drones or something that can catch these natural hunts from a birds eye view. Would be great watching the lionesses and see how they do it, wild dogs are another they have extremely co-ordinated attacks in large numbers.
His mother fed him - they showed it in earlier docs. They also identified him by markings and his unique iris. Apparently lions can have unique markings.

They don't exactly have a line of scrimmage, but they can suit up and orchestrate a play that requires team effort and agility. It is a sight to see.
