- My labrador Finn and I are in Yorkshire, where we hike out into the woods for an overnight camping trip. This was Finn's first ever night outdoors camping and my first solo for a lot of years.
We start a fire using traditional flint and steel, eat a British military ration (MRE) and cook a big old steak.
British military ration:
Pasta & meatballs
Equipment:
OneTigris Rock Fortress hot tent
Gransfors Bruks Ray Mears Wilderness Axe
Karrimor SF Sabre 45
Silky GOMBOY folding saw
4" Mark Hill Woodlore style knife
Finn did a good job. He's very helpful!
He’s so helpful!
Just came across your videos Chris. I really appreciate the way you deliver your content. I love being out in the countryside with my k9 best friend Milo. Sorry to hear about your dad. Stay strong man. Take care.
Thanks for the kind words, Kenneth. Hope you and Milo get plenty of time outside together this summer and I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Finn just turning up to help you gather wood was hilarious. He's so helpful and way too adorable for his own good.
He's just so helpful! Sneaky and helpful.
Great video, i only just came across your channel, now ill play catch up. Thanks for sharing about your dad, sorry to hear that. That does look like a comfy setup.
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed and I appreciate the thoughts regarding my Dad and I appreciate you watching!
Thanks Chris i really enjoyed that.Thoughts are with you and your dad.All the best.
I appreciate the thoughts Steve. Glad you enjoyed and thank you for taking the time to watch.
Great to see an overnight trip. Nice tent. You might need a small wagon for all your equipment. Foldable ones are nice for fitting them in the car and call still carry alot of kg.
Thanks! I remember you mentioning some longer trips, so happy to oblige. I think a wagon would be useful for some areas, though the woodland was very difficult terrain so I think next time I shall just have to pack lighter… or perhaps load Finn up like a mule?
What a great video, I loved it, hope you’re dad improves, I look forward to following you on more adventures, I’ve got all the gear I’ve just got to get out there with my dog as she will love it as you have, thanks again I’ve subscribed
Thanks kindly for the comment! I can recommend just getting out there and not overthinking it. You’ll have a blast.
Hey, everyone has days like that. As long as you're enjoying yourself, that's all that matters. I enjoy your videos. Oh, try the Lawery Seasoning Salt on chips (French Fries), but just a sprinkle.
That's kind of you to say, thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to view and comment as well :)
I always eat the ribeye my girlfriend loves the cap
Sounds like you make a great team. No waste!
