    Rowan Atkinson is a MASTER at physical comedy. His character RARELY speaks. One of his best "running" jokes is the little 3 wheeler car that he HATES and causes havoc to every time he gets near it.
    His comical facial expressions alone make this great comedy, but the sight gags he uses added to that, make it SUPERB comedy. His timing is perfect, and along with his talent for being someone you love to hate puts him on par with the likes of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and many of the "greats" that brought comedy to the silent screen. Bean doesn't NEED dialog, but brings sound to the greatness of "silent" comedy.
    While Bean is a total A-HOLE, you can't help but love him, and feel sorry for the fact that in the end, almost nothing he tries WORKS...
    I'll agree with another comment, that his Christmas skit is one of his best. THE TURKEY!!

    Mr Bean doesn't speak much on the TV show, usually it's mumbled words. Rowan Atkinson suffered and still suffers from a stammer, and he invented the character while he was attending Oxford University. He was doing comedy sketches on stage with a few of his friends and he came up with the character where he didnt have to speak and he could use physical comedy.
    In the movie 'Bean' he had to speak more than he did in the TV show. Even the animated version, he voices the cartoon version of him.

  • @mikkdc
    @mikkdc ปีที่แล้ว

    There is practically zero speaking by Mr. Bean. I think the only word he will say very rarely is "Teddy" as he has a teddy who is his best friend. Rowan is such a good actor that his body language and his many exaggerated facial expressions tell the story and make it hilarious.

    He talked in some of the episodes. I remember the one episode when he was taking an exam and he bragged to his seatmate that the focus of the exam is geometry not calculus.

    The actor himself is Rowan Atkinson and he's been in quite a few things. You should find Rowan playing the devil.

    Hi KB, Yep Mr Bean classic stuff, Because it was mostly physical humour with very little dialogue it was universally popular apparently it aired in over 200 countries/territories, There's even a statue of Mr Bean in Leicester Square, Central London, Please react to more Rowan Atkinson especially his earlier work on Not the Nine O'clock News which has so many classic sketches Cheers 👍

    Both sketches were edited, the pool one has more of Mr Bean trying to escape the pool without any clothes on. The baby one also had the first bit cut, how he comes to have the baby, who gets separated from the Mum, and then how they get reunited at the end.

    We lived in Portsmouth for 6 years and I loved taking my kids to Clarence Pier, where this episode was filmed. We all liked the 2p machines. In fact, I like them so much that I watch Tipping Point on the telly here in Australia 🙂
