Finally a honest blogger who actually loses with AA. And twice. Remember viewing those other Bloggers who just cannot lose with AA. We know who they are too do we not?? Great video Ethan.
Ethan - you should have check-raised the flop on that double board bomb pot. With Aces, there is not a single hand that is beating you on both boards. Should have piled on the flop/turn and save yourself a possible difficult river decision.
That wouldn't be a wise play. A hand doesn't have to beat aces on both boards to be profitable, it just needs more equity on one board against aces than aces have against it on the other board. Since aces only have approximately 8% equity against trips on the flop, any 4 that has a pair or a gutshot straight draw on the first board fits the bill, and will be more than happy to get all the money in against aces.
In the AA bomb pot, you picked it apart perfectly. There are only two hands that beat you on both boards (JJ and 64) and it's much more likely he's barreling with a hand that's strong on only one board (trying to get you to fold a chop), so there's really nothing to be nervous about. Snap shovel those chips in!
@@JogvanJespersenPGA I'm fairly certain giving up on this pot when you're chopping almost all the time, scooping a small percentage of the time, and losing a very tiny percentage of the time, is the losing play. This is a bomb pot, so there is some dead money in there.
@@jamiebousquet Yeah you lose to like 3 combos of hands. Impossible to fold there. It's nearly a snap call once you assess which hands actually beat you
I'm just curious... at the beginning of the video you say you 'jumped into' the 2/5 game. But you clearly have a stack of black chips in front of you. How do you buy in for more than the $1k cap? Something doesn't add up... 🙃
Your play has gotten so much better. However, if you're going to blind raise UTG, just re-straddle! At least then you have the option of raising and taking dead money. That bomb pot was really uncomfortable; but I agree it's 100% a call. Especially since your opponent can't have a flush in the top and a better hand on the bottom (the 4 of hearts is on the board).
When do you plan on going to MGM Springfield next??? That's been my new spot since they re opened....only can afford to play 1/2 so probably wouldn't be able to play with you but....
I would have shoved the AA on the turn in that bomb pot hand. It was pretty much impossible to be behind on both boards (the last two jacks in the deck is literally the only hand). Obviously the result would have been the same, but I think shoving turn is the best play, and gives you the best chance at scooping. I don't really understand the agonizing on the river either, that is never a fold. You are at least chopping 99% of the time.
What were you scared of with aces in the bomb pot? Literally nothing beats you on both boards until the river (any 64) it’s the perfect scenario to have aces
He wasn’t scared. He was just analyzing talking for the vlog. and saying exactly what you said and he’s 64 and all J -10 n whatever. He didn’t say anything that would imply “scared” to me
Double board bomb pot with possible trips on one of the boards is certainly not a perfect scenario for the aces. Aces only have approximately 8% equity against trips 4, and any 4 that has a pair or a gutshot straight draw on the first board will have aprox. 20-24% against aces. Getting it all in against such a hand with aces is a losing play.

"I didn't check the flop (With air) to fold on this turn (Where I have air) so..." You record your commentary afterward, where editing is possible, yet say the zaniest things. I love it.
Aces in a single board bomb pot is sketchy. Aces in a double board bomb pot is a super premium, because It's extraordinarily unlikely you get scooped, while there's a decent chance you can scoop. On that flop it is impossible for you to be getting scooped, and by the turn there's only one combo that you're getting scooped by. I'd have tried to get it in on the flop, and definitely on the turn.
AA is certainly not a super premium hand in a double board bomb pot with possible trips on one of the boards. Aces only have approximately 8% equity against trips 4, and any 4 that has a pair or a gutshot straight draw on the first board will have aprox. 20-24% against aces. Getting it all in against such a hand with aces is a losing play.
@@ozrenbalic6051 Thats the absolute worst case scenario, which is a losing play but not by a huge margin. When averaged out with all the possible hands that would stack off that you're crushing, getting it in on the flop or turn is a slam dunk. By the river it's a lot scarier, but that's only because you didn't charge all of the hands that get there on the river by committing stacks earlier in the hand. To sum it up, on the flop and turn, you're chopping with a lot of hands, scooping a lot of hands, and getting scooped by very few.
@@albertjohnson1944 There are a total of 80 combinations that have a 4 with a pair or a gutshot straight draw on the first board. You say losing 15% of half of the pot is not losing by huge margin, and that we are crushing many other hands. How many combinations of hands are we crushing that are willing to call our all-in on the flop, in a seven handed bomb pot, with possible trips on one board, that such a shove is a slam dunk winning play? I'll also mention that a range of hands consisting of 4 and any other card has 13.5% equity against AA on a non-trips board. That is still beating 8% AA has against trips 4. There are a total of 172 combinations of possible hands with a four on the flop. So I'm just going to have to disagree with you that AA is a super premium hand, when it is losing to a range consisting of 172 combinations of hands, in a seven handed bomb pot.

@@chrisleos1235 I was wondering about the buy in as well. He explains the Q8 hand is one of the first hands yet he has a stack of 100 dollar chips around 2000 plus a stack of red and then bets 75 on river with 3 green chips. If he won a huge pot before that why isn't featured in video.
