I’m here to learn and u seem a very good teacher but if I may I get others don’t need the basic info but I’m a learner and what I know I’ve learned from books and now trying TH-cam. I’m truely wanting to learn but I need the basics as well. Thank you for wanting to help folks learn
I do add boning channels at each seam but honestly if you made it out of a thick fabric and don't mind a bit of wrinkling you probably don't need to :D
If you have some projects in which you have to adjust the patterns, I'd love to see HOW you do that. I'm always very confused when a mockup doesn't fit me and I don't always know how to figure out what isn't working, which panel isn't sized right for me, why this or that wrinkles, etc... So, adjusting is like alchemy to me. 👀👀😂
I will add it to my to do list! (I will admit that I actually still haven't gotten any further than the mock up of two of the corsets I patterned here so it might not be that soon but it is now on the list!
Obviously I can't help with exactly what's wrong but I can give a few general things that might not be quite right (this is all assuming you want a fitted garment): Horizontal wrinkles: it's possible that your pattern is too tight width-wise either in the area where the wrinkles are or above/below, it's also possible that your garment just sits in a way that naturally rides up with movement Curved wrinkles (centering around a point in a seam): The point the wrinkles seem to "ripple" out from probably has a bit too much fabric but the fabric above and below has the right amount (or possibly too little), this usually happens on curves, in which case the curve needs to be straightened a little Wrinkles coming out from a certain point in a seam (like a child's drawing of a sun): The area the wrinkles are eminating from probably does not have enough fabric while the areas above and below either have enough or too much, again this usually happens on curves, meaning the curve needs to be rounded a little more
Don't ask why but I as a dude for a cosplay did the taping thing but whit paper tape (cheaper ) Yea I forgot the film pulled lots of hairs Also I did it on my own Ps. It feels amazing and I love it and I don't want to cut it up 😭 It's just so strange to have my torso just standing beside me
It is quite odd seeing it for the first time. I've heard a lot of people make dress makers dummy from there taped forms but never had much luck with that myself
@@AnnabelleAndBensAntics you could use paper tape and add Papier-mâché to stiffen it up but I don't know if I want to be a mold for so long Or even if it cures good enough whit breading
In not 100% sure what you mean by flattening it. As in flattening the pattern? If that's the case simply draw a line (or two) over where your boobs curve. That way when you cut out the pieces they will lay flat on the paper but have the curve you need when you are the corset together. If in doubt where to put the line a good base is going vertically over your nipple as that's usually about the center of your breast and where you boob curves the most however play around with the line placement to see what works for you

I'm working on some other tutorials but they likely won't be out untill next year :)
Give Sherlock his own mini paper and ironing board. He's trying to mimick you ❤️😭
haha, I will do next time!
When I would work on a project my cat would try to help by laying on my fabric. I miss my little buddy very much. Thank you for the video.
They are the best :)
Boosting the algorithm, at the urging of a favorite TH-camr who is having issues with YT beaurocracy. I appreciate your channel
Thanks, I appreciate that!
@@AnnabelleAndBensAntics you are welcome

Haha of course!
Loved this! ❤ Especially the hack about using both sides to make two different corsets 😊
Thank you! 😊
Very cool. *heading back to Costco for the two pack of duct tape that was on sale*. Thanks for the tutorial.
I did just the same thing lol :D
I came for the patterning, stayed for the orange cat content 😁
Sherlock is always the star of the show lol
That
That looks so simple. Love that idea thanks. Did you put boning channels in or does the corset not need it this way?

@@AnnabelleAndBensAntics thanks. I definitely need a "fairy" dress in my life and this seems the best way to do a bodice. Great Vlog 😀
my cat is always on my ironing board too haha !! love this guide

How do you go about flattening the part that goes over your boobs? Do I have to put in some darts or will it work out as is?

@@AnnabelleAndBensAntics Yes I meant flattening the pattern, like when you have your tape pattern and you need to trace it on paper. Thanks!
