    MATERIALS:
    beads, waxed cotton cord, tape, ruler, scissors, clear nail polish, buttons
    ***All materials can be found at Michael's.
    SQUARE KNOT VIDEO: • How To Tie a SQUARE KNOT
    ***A lot of my DIY projects use square knots, so this is a handy thing to know.
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    To make the adjustable version--
    1. Measure 2 pieces of cord: 20 inches and 10 inches.
    2. On the longer piece, make a knot about 3-4 inches from the top.
    3. Add beads until bracelet reaches desired length.
    4. Finish it with a knot.
    5. To make the adjustable closure, overlap the tails and secure them with tape.
    6. Slide the 10 inch piece of cord beneath the tails and create three square knots ( • How To Tie a SQUARE KNOT ).
    7. Trim the excess and secure with clear polish.
    8. Tie a knot on each tail (so that they don't slip out of the adjustable closure).
    To make the button closure version--
    1. Measure a 20 inch piece of cord.
    2. Fold over a few inches of the cord and create a loop. Trim the excess.
    3. Bead the bracelet and finish it with a knot.
    4. String on a button and secure it with a knot. Trim the excess cord.

    I was so excited to learn this as it’s such a great idea! Three inches to work with off the start isn’t enough for someone that has never done this before. Then you’re told to tape down the ends with two pieces of tape yet the square knot tutorial has one open end. A video showing how to make the bracelet including instructions on the square knot specific to the use in this bracelet would be great!

    this was very helpful but I didn't love how I had to learn the square knot with another video... It was confusing because both square knots were for two different bracelets and techniques so I couldn't get past the part with the square knot.

  • @Palmbjj
    @Palmbjj 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You significantly over complicate the process by cutting out when you do and not just finishing the knot.

    Firstly- you're video is lovely & very professional & I appreciate the time & effort you put in to help others. Good job and Thank you!!! :) Also- Just some constructive criticism, please don't take it as negative: The title of the video is a little misleading as I still don't know how to make an adjustable bracelet. I followed the link to the square knot video, but I can't figure out how to apply that to make an adjustable bracelet. That's all, thanks again!

      @Neyagrl ปีที่แล้ว

      Just watch this video closely a couple times. Ignore the narration and pay attention to watching how she does it, because she shows it well. At the end, she shows and says "now make 3 square knots" with the 10" cord - and you can see her doing it. Then, she cuts off the excess and puts clear nail polish on the 3 square knots. Then, you see her pull on the adjustable strings and tie knots on each one.
