I saw a couple of videos on using crimps and I thought I was ready to venture out and get starting until I viewed your video. I've never used crimps or a crimping tool and was not aware that the actual size of the crimp to be use was stated on the wire spool. Thanks for pointing that out. Your demo tutorial is perfect. I was able to see everything up close and slow enough for me to grasp what you're doing and you explained it so well. Thanks so much for sharing.
I was just making these kind of bracelets and now you posted a tutorial on how to do it! I love following your tutorials because you explain really well! Thanx!
Great job! Just a little tip, you can fold over your crimp bead once you've crimped it to make it even smaller and secure. Plus if you want to cover the crimp you can use "crimp covers"...also found at Michaels. ;)
Sarah, Crafty Fridays are what I look forward to! A combination of pearls and charms at 2:00 really make stackable bracelets look elegant. Looking forward to your next tutorial.
Hi Sarah, so glad you made this video. Now I know what crimping beads and crimping tools and all that other stuff is for. All of our bracelets turned out beautiful!
Very nice! Thanks for making this video you've given me some ideas of some things I can do with all the beads I have. I also appreciate the tip on the crimp beads matching up with the proper wires. I never knew that about the numbers on the packages, so thanks for that!
I've been straight up tying knots at the end to secure the toggle claps. Its secure, this seems much better. Also thanks for making this look super simple and easy! I will definitely be trying this out!
Thank you for this video. I was looking for simple instructions on how I can make a beaded bracelet that I can add charms to over the years with different occasions. I’m making this for my granddaughter who just graduated kindergarten and will have her first piano recital this weekend. I want to buy her a treble clef and a graduation cap charm but I’ll be adding more as she grows up. With your clear and well-filmed tutorial, I can do this! As we add more charms, I can hopefully just add more jump rings between the beads, right? My little Anna would love to help me make this bracelet. Thank you, sweetie!
Great tutorial !! I am a beginner. I bought my first bracelet bead charm kit today. I will post one when I get done with one. Very informative !! I like your videos !!
From what I have learned with jewelry making the crimp bead actually needs to split the two sections of wire when you crimp the part that crimps in the middle then you use the part of the crimping pliers that will fold it in half. At least thats what I have seen on the jewelry making show on the learning channel. I am not trying to criticize in any way, just hoping to help you. These are very beautiful and I love them. I just know you like quality things that are made in a way that won't cause problems later. I really love your videos and think you are great. Thank you.
Wow you did an excellent job. Thank you so much for this easy to follow video. I'm making my friend a crystal necklace and was very rusty. I am going to add French wire to cover the bare beading wire. You can also add seed beads to cover the wire for a really finished look. You are a great teacher. I will post the necklace on your hashtag. Suzanne in Hawaii.
Seems pretty easy to make one of these bracelets, thanks for showing how to do it! i would love to see you make some hooped beaded earrings like what you are wearing.
There is also another item you can use to help protect the wire from the clasp. It Is called a wire guardian it alse gives lovely finished look. I just made several necklaces using this same technique. I love the beads you used. Your videos are great and easy to follow. Thanks for all your guidance.
A crimping tip. The crimping tool is a two part tool. You did the first part squeezing the crimp bead into to a u shape. The second set of teeth will allow the u shape to be folded over and tightened more. You did a great job!
You should look into wire guardians. They are small metal, horseshoe shaped findings that you feed the wire through at the then of your project. It helps to prevent wear and tear on the wire and it gives your projects a finished, professional look. You can then add a jump ring and your clasp to the wire guardian.
Where I used to work, one of my supervisors had a daughter who made jewelry, and posted it online. I would watch the daughter on breaks, and got lots of nifty ideas from her. Before long, I was making some mighty cool jewelry, and this is a great way to pass the time when it's really snowy outside, you've been laid up from having surgery, or you like doing this in front of the TV set when a good TV show is on. I always love to go to Michaels or AC Moore to see what's available; I like getting beads mixed in a variety of styles. Then, I have a little bowl on my tray, cut the bead strings apart, get out my crimpers and toggles, and just go to town. My all time favorite bracelets are the personalized ones, which I call The Name of The Game. I have three styles I like using, they are birthstone, Midnight Madness, and Simply Stunning. Midnight Madness involves using black AB beads where Simply Stunning uses all silver fixings. I also like those letters on the plastic beads, namely the white on black letters, simply because they do not tarnish like the silver letter cubes do
Wow, you made some beautiful bracelets. Thank you so much for your expertise. You are simply a charming and delightful woman and I am so glad I found you here. Daughter wants to make these bracelets now, too. Oh, and we both LOVED your nails! Keep up the fantastic work and thank you for sharing with us. :-)
