I think that if, offensivelly, he had the same level as a Rudy Gobert (basically pick n roll dunk and put back dunk), he would have been top 3 in the draft. That's how crazy his defensive potential is. I've never seen a guy blocking that many 3 pts shots and changing that many shot trajectories.

The reason most people in the league don’t use it is because the sky hook/hook shots are just hard. Normally I don’t agree with people adding this to their game, but he fits the niche demographic of individuals where if they had it, it’d be used to its fullest potential. He has both the length and wingspan to pull it off. It’s just a matter of if he’s willing to put the work in to try and master it. I prefer he put that energy into other effective and more efficient parts of the game (shooting, fadeaways, handles, etc.)

The kid clearly has incredible talent and potential, but is still a raw talent and a rookie in his first couple summer league games. He just needs to get more playing time under his belt so he can find his rhythm and gain confidence in his ability to compete at the NBA level. He had a bad game offensively but even then he still got 5 blocks in his first NBA game. If he develops that hook shot further he’s gonna have the Skyhook 2.0

Victor and the Spurs are a match made in heaven. I hope that he, his team and trainers work on his strength and conditioning. Barring injuries he has a magnificent future awaiting him. With the continued progression of Jokic and the presence of Antetokounmpo, the league will realize the reemergence of the dominant big man. In some ways I see Wilt Chamberlain's style and physical abilities due to sheer height advantage.

@@magnumxlpiIt’s not an excuse its the truth, just like when AD has a so called bad game like when he only 11pts but completely dominate the other team on defense, that’s not a bad game, you have to understand every player has their biggest strength, for Jokic it’s playmaking, for KD it’s scoring, for AD it’s defense .. So if Jokic has a bad Playmaking game, like only 4 assists and not involved in a lot of play like screen assists for exemple then there is a high chance he had a bad game (For his standard), same for KD if he doesn’t score 25ppg, and same for AD if he doesn’t get at least 2 Blocks, 1 steal, 10 rebounds or if he doesn’t play lockdown defense and doesn’t alter/contest a lot of shots and doesn’t make a lot of deflections.
But you see the thing is that a defensive player can dominate a game and all you will see on the stat sheet is 2 Block or 2 steal, and sometimes they can dominate without even blocking 1 shot or making 1 steal, so except rebounds you don’t see big numbers on the 5 major stats, youhave to look at the analytics stats like opponents fg%, defensive box + minus, defensive rating and other things like deflection or charges.

"He's already way ahead of the game",
      "Very confident", "He's well surrounded"
"He's a mixture a multiple great players, like a giant KD".
"At that age it's going to be insane how fast he's going to learn".
"Never seen anyone ever do a between-the-leg crossover followed by an off-the-dribble step-back three at the 24th second, then catch his own rebound and dunk it off the air with one hand".
And when asked if Victor was a bit "unicornesque" like him, Porzingis replied:

I am interested to see what his shooting splits will be this season. IMO, unless he actually can shoot it like KD, they need to get him closer to the basket. Him breaking down defenders on the perimeter and driving is just a waste of energy, considering he can already shoot over most players with no difficulty . Most teams will probably prefer him shooting 3s and mid range shots. I think over time, Wemby will learn just how easily he can score without exerting so much effort.

He’s huge and has the biggest upside in protecting the rim. He isn’t as good offensively as everyone thought tho. He needs to have some patience w his back to the basket. He really does need to model that post game after Duncan w that length. I think the biggest question tho is if he has any dog in him? I think several of the other top ten picks this year do have an edge. This rookie class is really good and they are gonna be interesting to watch this year..

I think you're completing ignoring the fact that he had a TON of pressure going into summer league for a 19 year old. It has also been little basketball and a lot of media appearances which he isn't used to. The Brittney Spears incident which was completely out of his control didn't help matters either. On the court it was frustrating even game two bc it looked like his teammates were even nervous. No one else could hit a shot and it looked like he was going to take over at the end and win them the game but Wesley/Branham started chucking shots instead of looking to pass. Wemby hit a clutch three and looked to elevate his game when under pressure.
I do agree that he's an inside/out player. He also seems to have a habit of making the right pass. Unfortunately in the summer league games no one could finish. On defense he needs to play the Evan Mobley help defender role. Just roam the court like a safety in football. He could be in contention of DPOY year one.
