It seems like most videos would, in service to the algorithm, start off with a 5 minute exposé about how things are going in the TH-camr's life, progress to the history of valves and springs and only get to the actual procedure long after I've lost interest.

The "retainer" is what captures the valve, the "keepers" are what holds the retainers.
