This is a A/FD, 5.20 to 5.30 @ 270-280 mph in the quarter. That GoPro held on for dear life of the camera. You should see these IRL, ground shakes, the smell & the loudness is awesome!! This video is nowhere like being there!!

@@JackieChan-bi8qnit 110% would be stable. All the newer GoPros have a built in stabilizer and a boost mode for the stability. You gotta think they’re meant to be mounted on a helmet and still look good. I got vids of me hitting rocks, jumps, hill climbs and everything and I bounce all over the place and my head bobbles all over but still the camera never fails to be steady!
The stabilization on these things is just as good as a camera with a gimbal!
Yup other commenters are correct this is A/Fuel so about 270 on a good day. Or 280 on a really good day
Alcohol dragsters run 280's all day long. I saw some passes in the 5.teens at nearly 285mph this past weekend. Think the fastest run was 5.18 something, and it was a blower car. TAD are a lot faster now than they were even 5 years ago lol

@@MattLitkeRacing Indeed. And both within the last 5 years. Beyond 5 or so years ago, a typical good run for TAD was in the high 5.30's right around 270mph. Now, basically everyone making a solid pass is faster than that.

Mike Salinas just ran a NHRA record 300 MPH in the 1/8 mile 3 weeks ago in a nitro burning Top Fuel dragster. T/F & F/C nitro burning dragsters only run 1000ft not 1320ft. The record is 338 MPH. The previous comments are correct this is Top Fuel Alcohol running 1/4 mile around 280 MPH.

From my experiences with gopros and bike park downhill trails I can say with confidence that their fish-eye wide angle lens makes it appear one is moving twice as fast as they actually are.
You just witnessed the entire operating lifetime of an engine between overhauls.

GoPros have the amazing ability of making really crazy things look not crazy. Honestly this did not seem that fast thanks to the camera. And if you watch skiing/snowboarding pov videos, the gnarliest runs look tame with a helmet GoPro
So sad to see the stands empty all the time. NHRA really needs to look at stepping things up.

@@Bdawg122x you can tell if its supercharged by the blower. The supercharged ones are wider and bigger, but it is running nitro. Its one of the classes in NHRA. But what you’re speaking of is top alcohol.

This is not a top fuel dragster. This is an A fuel dragster, which is significantly slower and less power. This dragster on a good day could push 280 mph while a top fuel can push 330 mph.
