    Super! Tell me, is it possible in Captain Plugins Epic to put an a cappella on a separate track (vocals, or a finished track processed by equalization), synchronizing it in tempo with the project grid, and adding rhythm, bass and everything else to create a remix?

    • @ianjohnson3546
      @ianjohnson3546 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You would use your DAW for that (Ableton Live, Presonus Studio One, FL Studio, Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic). Captain Plugins Epic is a plugin for a DAW but pretty much all DAWs would have the features you are asking about. Since you are interested in remixes you might consider Serato Studio which is kind of made more for a DJ and remix like workflow. They have a free edition that has enough features for you to finish a remix but for a full song from scratch you'll probably want to upgrade to the paid version.

      @@ianjohnson3546 Thank you. I am a former DJ myself, I worked at NI Traktor (Macbook Pro + DJ Controller) and I understand what you are talking about. No, I mean what I lacked in the program for studio mixing of mixes and mashups called MixMeister, the trick of which is that, unlike conventional DAWs, it automatically scans the tempo of the track and arranges the project grid for it. But MixMeister is not a DAW, it is impossible to create a full-fledged remix in it by adding a new rhythm, bass, synthesis and effects. For this reason, I would like to go from the other side, to find a solution based on a normal music studio and such a convenient music designer as Captain Plugins, but with the ability to automatically adjust the tempo of the project to an a cappella or the finished track that I will remix. That is, unlike a regular DAW, for example, Ableeton Live, in which, when adding a track, it is necessary to do a warp manually, I would like to see a Captain Plugins-style environment in which I could add my track to a separate track and work on it at its pace, cutting it into pieces in accordance with add the necessary instruments to the tempo grid and to other tracks. Unfortunately, I do not know of any DAW that can, like MixMeister, automatically analyze a track and adjust all the other tracks according to its tempo. If Captain Plugins had added an a cappella track on Wednesday, then I would have immediately bought this wonderful software, it would have become a revolutionary feature and would have attracted a large number of DJs and musicians to work on remixes based on ready-made alien tracks.

    • @ianjohnson3546
      @ianjohnson3546 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@engineerjr7173 you just gotta try it, I mean yeah I guess you have to do a few things manually but it takes me probably 10-15 seconds per track to do what you are asking for in Ableton Live. You just need to spend the time to learn the software and get muscle memory on it. I mean there is plenty of software including ableton that can scan audio and detect it's BPM. Captain Plugins sells a super HQ version of this for DJs called Mixed in Key. Run your track through Mixed in Key, and it'll tag it with all the necessary data. Import in Ableton live and live will automatically Warp that import to whatever the project tempo is. So all you really need to do "manually" is look at a meta tag and of what the BPM is of the song and type that in as the master tempo in ableton. Then look at that same meta data and get the root key of the song and type that into Captain Plugins as the root key. Then everything you import from there will be tempo synced to that master tempo and everything you do in Captain will be in the root note of the song. The only thing you need to figure out is what scale you want to progress to. You can automate changing the master tempo to something else further in the track too. Everything you are asking for already exists you just need to learn how to use it.

      @@ianjohnson3546 Thank you for your opinion. Nevertheless, I seem to have failed to correctly formulate the task that interests me. In turn, I want to recommend you to try MixMeister and I think you will understand its uniqueness! Of course, I know what Mixed in Key is, but it's not about determining the tempo and tonality of tracks, but about the ability of Ableton Live to work with them. Almost all DJs are very unhappy with how this is implemented in this DAW. I've seen everything you've written about manual warping in training videos, it's all the last century compared to MixMeister, with what manipulations it allows you to do with tracks and their parts. But ordinary DAWs do not know how to do this. If it were possible to add DAW capabilities to MixMeister, and even more so with the same friendly and phenomenally convenient logic, capabilities and interface as Captain Plugins, then it would be a bomb! And suffering with Ableton Live does not add much pleasure. Thanks again!
      P.S.: By the way, I have Odessa 2.0, if it made it possible to work normally with a cappella, then I would be satisfied with that. But unfortunately, the developers stopped developing the application by focusing on Captain Plugins, in which they did not implement such an opportunity in principle, shifting responsibility to third-party DAWs.
