That's one of your greatest tuto's Andy: how to create a complete piece of musci from A to Z. Not only the tools (Captain & Pilot) are very well explained, but I liked your very important tips on how to populate (or not!) the notes together so it all fits well. I am glad I bought those fantastic creative tools - Merci Bro!
Why we want to use pilot bass and melody when we have captain bass and captain melody, please share your thoughts so I can really understand as to why we want to use captain plugin along with pilot plugins?
Good question. Pilot Bass works differently from Captain Deep Epic. Captain is like Photoshop - it gives you a lot of control, a big canvas to edit your MIDI, lots of tools, etc. Pilot is more like a MIDI generator/synthesizer - you tweak the knobs and create things based on what you tell the knobs to do. It's a different kind of workflow and output. You can create a nearly infinite amount of bassline ideas in Pilot Bass, and Melody while the output is limited on Captain Deep and Melody, but you on Captain you have more control on it. Let me know if it helps :)
I already have the pilot plugins do they automatically sync with captain cords for cord progression? Or do i still have to manually input my own chords? Also will you guys ever be looking at adding a midi inport into the pilot plugins? Basically it would be nice if we could import chords rather then building them within the pilot app. I also notice that you guys are missing 11ths and 13ths any plans to add those?
when you open Pilot in a new session, it should show you a dialog asking if you want it to be connected to Captain Chords Epic or if you want to use the chord context from Pilot instead. So, you have both options :) Regarding MIDI Import and 11ths and 13ths, we will definitely consider adding them on future updates. I will add it to our Wishlist :)
Liquor is quicker but Andy is dandy!! Fantastic tutorial as always!! Very informative and intuitive and simple to understand!! There’s a reason why MixedInKey plugins are and should be an industry standard!! Thank you very much!!👽🛸🚀👾💯🧈🧈
I bought Captain Plugins Epic, but he does not search for VSTs on all of my drives? Now I am missing a lot of them. What can I do? I tried rescan, but he still is searching on C Drive, not in all of my drives.
hey, right now it only reads the default folder for plugins on Mac and Windows. We will definitely consider adding an option to scan custom paths on a future update. I can see how that can be helpful for a ton of users :)
A question about captain chords, how could i choose my rhythm freely. When i move the lengh of the chords it’s limited by the kind of rhythm i have selected, there is a way to have a custom rhythm where the notes take all the space that my chord does, but i could end my chord in any soace i want, so i could use syncopation without the need of select syncopation in the rhythm and then change again?
Would be cool to see a series like this but use top songs from different genres as inspiration, something like beat academy's "how to produce" series but don't actually recreate the songs. Use pilot and captain to show it's possible to make similar songs throughout the genres
for Mixed In Key? We had to put that on hold momentarily to build the Windows version of Platinum Notes 10, but it will be the next item in our To-Do list after we get the Beta Windows version of Platinum Notes 10 out, which hopefully will happen next week.
Hey, 1. Andy is using Logic Pro X. 2. He is using Captain Plugins Epic and Pilot Plugins. He also uses some plugins from Waves. Do you need the name of a specific plugin?
I like these plugins, but is there a specific reason that Mixed in Key has not gone VST3? A bit of a let down, finding out that these plugins are all VST2, to be completely honest, in 2023.
@@mixedinkey Can we get more in general for darker tones, darker melodies and progressions, more horror like tensions that work in dark aggressive trap production or grimy boom bap beats? The software is amazing. Great for workflow. Have been using for a while. Would just like more that is natural to my own creative sound and style of production.
Another question. If i import audio from Pilot to Ableton. Is it possible to convert to audio? I closed Pilot in Ableton X and now the player wont show up when i dubbleclick. 🫣 is it gone forever when i press X instead of kiickin tool (show/hide) in Ableton

Can you please make a video were you show sending Midi out to other plugins or hardware?
That's a cool idea, which DAW do you use?

Can you import your own midi into the pilot plugins? Ie you already have a bassline you like but you want to iterate on corresponding melodies.

Thank you 🔥
love the plugin but one think is missing is note lock

That's a great idea. We've done something similar in for Captain Plugins tutorials, which genres would you like us to cover in the future?
@@mixedinkey pop, folk, hip-hop, r&b and all the subgenres you can think of
@@mixedinkey Please cover: Bass house, Dubstep, etc. please
Can you export this into ableton (as individual tracks) and then fine-tune it??
Yes, you can. You can drag-and-drop the individual MIDI or Audio file to a channel in Ableton and fine tune it from there too 😊
when will dark mode be released for windows?

@@mixedinkey Yes... Windows would be useful. Thank you. Will you email your current users, when this happens?
Hi. We need other presets for
pilot melody.
Can you do dark/rnb/pop/ hihop/ post malone / chainsmokers monotonous styles?
Thanks for your suggestion, we will definitely keep that in mind on future updates :)

Und was ist da jetzt neu?
on which plugins? Captain?
Pilot, Captain and MIK 10...
The new videos tell me nothing new.
In german "unlocking" means "freischalten". Which new features are there to unlock?
