Pulling Ash Firewood In The Woods/SWAMP? Printing Cash

  • Salvaging more Ash to split after the Emerald Ash Borer devastated our ash trees. Most of the mature ash in Michigan has been dead for a while and some of it is starting to get punky. We battle the rain soaked woods with the Massey Ferguson 35 and the DR Log Trailer to fill up our N&N dump trailer so we have some more wood to run through our All Wood and Eastonmade splitters! Roadside stands will be filled shortly!
    We are heading down to Indiana to work with many other TH-cam channels at the Hoosier Firewood Hysteria, hosted by Mike from KNL Firewood to split wood for the veterans!
    Don't miss our next video upload when we will reveal our new LOG SPLITTER!

    You should invest in a set of ring style tire chains.
    I had an old Ford tractor in the mid -70's and started a firewood business in highschool to earn extra $$$ unfortunately the tractor came with bald tires and I couldn't afford new ones and my friends dad ran tire chains all year long because they're woods was a swamp all year and it was the only way to get through the woods to get firewood like your doing... Santa brought me a set of Ring chains one Christmas and my tractor never got stuck again.... good luck with your business and be careful with your backs.

    Back at yah there guy's ! N.C east coast 4th generation..I have my Dad's old 63 Massey just like yours..We used it often on the farm for almost everything, bush-hoging, discing our land for crops, turning plows, lifting boom, even hauling out wood as you guy's are doing. Really has been a great tractor, hope yours will be as dependable as my Dad's..I still use it often on our land. I always liked ash firewood, but it is scarce around these areas. Appears you guy's have a great amount of it. Really gives off good heat also, burns really well too, drys faster than other hardwoods, not hard to saw or split, less abuse on equipment. 👍🙋

    Hello, I'm from Ukraine! And we also collect firewood here, only we don't carry it, but we carry it with our hands, because such a tractor is not enough to buy a life, our salary is 150 dollars a month, and we also have a bloody war and we are fighting for our independence with the 2nd army of the world, because we are Ukrainians!

      Timothy, we would have gotten closer under normal circumstances but it was so muddy back there right now we stuck to the trails.

    Its alot of work but i long ago learned to do this when grounds frozen and with front loader and diesel 4wd tractor with 3 point hitch and lift them and pull whole tree out to house ...alot easier ...now i am getting a E60 bobcat with grapple and brush cutter for all them dam picker bushes i dealt with all them years i am gonna go cut them all down and say there you sons a bitchs ya picked me enough and using a grapple on excavator makes cutting wood a breeze

      Thanks, I did pull quite a few out when the ground was frozen with the 4wd Kioti and log grapple, but couldn't get them all. The prickers can be a pain for sure!!!!

      Timothy, luckily we don’t see many snakes out there and the ones we do are harmless but still not a fan of them.

    You need a little 4 x4

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Henry, that would be nice for sure! I used to have a 35hp Kioti 4x4 but upgraded to the bigger RX7320 tractor. For working in the woods the smaller 4x4’s are definitely nicer! Especially since my big tractor is in the shop!

      We’ll I picked it up from the shop. He ran it to 3 hours there with no issues. I ran it the day I picked it up and thought we were good to go. Then the next day it did it again. 😞

    How’s that compare to the metsa (???) trailer that Adam and Doug just got?
    Seems like it’s real similar

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they’re pretty similar I know to dump this one you use the log lift system with the winch where the Metsa trailers have a gas shock system. Not sure how much the Metsa will dump. I believe this one will dump around 600 pounds. I’ve hauled over 2000 pounds of logs with it.

      Seeing how one eyed custom modified his for how violent it dumps, not sure I’d want cylinders.

      I’ll have to check the mod video out but yes it seemed pretty powerful when dumping empty.
