While in college a contract farmer drove a brand new steiger into the cattails, That is stupid. It took a D8 cat and two other high HP tractors to pull it out of the cattails.

Glad it was fairly easy to get out. When using any tow device, either rope or chain, it’s a good practice to throw a coat or blanket over the middle section. Just in case(heaven forbid) the chain breaks, the coat will diminish its momentum and prevent damage. I saw a heavy cable break once, and it missed someone’s head by mere inches, and wound up taking out half a wall on the end of a small barn.
That's what I was going to say. I had a friend get killed when a chain snapped while pulling out a buried tractor. It went through the back of the cab and hit him in the head.
I have pulled more stuff stuck this past year six months care to think about! Basically tandems and road tractors. By the way thanks for the video! Drought is over here mid mid west
Oy yoy yoy, the things some people do to get good youtube content! 😄 That came out easier than I thought it would, good thing it was sand and not heavy gumbo. It happens to the best of us, welcome to the club!
Awesome video! That was a great save. Great teamwork and communication work well in farming or any business. Thank you for sharing, I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. Good luck with the upcoming planting season, and I hope it continues to dry up for you. Have a great day.
Well getting stuck out in those wet fields is going to happen. Sooner or later. But you kept smiling through the whole process of getting unstuck and wasn't that bad. I'm looking forward to the next video.❤
Wow!!! Getting caught up on some older videos. Good save. It’s very unpredictable what may be lurking underneath. Local farmers had a JD larger than this one sink in the spring. Needed a crane on solid ground to pull it out. Your husband is amazing and knew what to do.
I am a Camel Jockey from the Arabian Desert and I really love farming and such beautiful landscape, and definitely the lady is an awesome farmer and vibrant person. Regards.
When you make an oops, you do it right! To be honest I drove off road in a mixer and dump for years. Quite often we just wouldn't go off road if it was iffy, but I've been stuck before and sandy soil like that is more unpredictable than most of the soil around Ohio. It looks dry or stays damp and if the ground underneath is soaked you drop like a rock. You can't stop and back out so I feel for you but it won't be the last time!
I am surprised that the small chain you used didn't break. I have switched to 100% synthetic rope to replace all chains and cables that we used for towing and vehicle rescue work. The synthetic rope is lighter in weight, easier to lug around, doesn't rust, it is much stronger, and most importantly, it doesn't whip lash when it breaks. I would look into synthetic rope.
@@BellsFarming Always a good idea to fix something along the towing line, whether chain, strop, cable or rope to act as a whiplash brake. Spare wheel, tarp etc. Multiples for such a long chain. Well worth taking a training course on this as you're on soft land.
Yep….that’s a whoopsie! I feel sorry for you guys…..been there done that too! Glad it came out so easy…thought maybe the tracked backhoe might have to be used as how soft the ground was in that area…..lucky you!
Morning the weather isn't bad right now, partly cloudy and sunny temp about 60, was 50 this morning had some rain over the weekend grass growing like crazy, will have to mow later when it dries off, the wife drove her 180 Allis for first time since ankle tendon repair last week, grain is up at different farms in the area, I believe it is oats or maybe barley potato planting moving right along, and thats the report from the county, at least my part. Dave D.
It’s the quickmud, as soon as you sense you’re in it, it’s too late. Any yankee who’s worked a field has gotten stuck, only the confident ones admit it. Bravo to you.
Great video. I am not a farmer but over the years I have been stuck real good several times. I have three boys so there have been lots of stuck adventures. Watching other channels I see them use yankem stretchy ropes. You should look into them. I’m sure this is not the last time you will get stuck. Also it’s great to have neighbors that will drop what they are doing to help out. I am sure you would do the same for him.
Wow that sunk to the frame the east coast have been getting hammered with rain these past few weeks it’s wet all over but you got out fairly easy nice job later girl.❤️😎🇺🇸
I have been lucky. Clay, loam, pretty easy to navigate. Sand happens SO FAST! 5 seconds, you can go from 'everything's fine' to Oh crap! Do like she did, get a pull out.. Good job.
It did look pretty bad but you and Shane made it look easy that yellow machine is pretty powerful very good content we love all your videos they're all interesting thanks very much
Ha! I really didn’t. As I drove and the tractor started to tip down into the “quick sand” hahah I knew I would only make it worse If I spun my tires. I’ll give myself credit for that at least.
Ok, I'll give you that much I saw an articulated 200 hp White tractor bury itself in Western New York while chopping corn. It went right down to the top of the tires in heavy clay soil. Someone thought it was a good idea to hook a D9 to it and it came out in 2 halves. Heck I grew up on a dairy farm in Western New York where you get snow off of Lake Erie like crazy. I've had days where we or I got stuck in the mud and snow. It happens and there were a few times when that machine had to sit there a few days before we could dig our way out there. Just part of farming. I've seen enough dead and severally injured people especially younger kids. Be safe and thank you.
@@stephenreiner1523 oh bummer! This looked worse than it was because it came out so easy. But I don’t go near that spot anymore lol. We have tile in the field, but the spot must also be spring fed or something.
I just have a question: why is ‘getting stuck’ almost always considered a “mess up” by the driver? I know the tractor can’t get itself stuck, and there certainly are instances when it’s driver error i.e. deliberately driving into a swamp. But even the most experienced farmers get tractors stuck since can’t always tell whether the ground is gonna open up and swallow you or not🤷🏻♂️.
Hey Molly & Shane, looks like some heavy duty rigging straps are in your future. Get yourself some nice shackles too. Would the front loader have worked too or was the ground to soft for that as well?
Everyone who farms any size of land gets stuck and nearly everyone gets out without needing to call in the Ron Pratts and Heavy D's 🙂I think you did a great job getting it free!

Ask Shane how many times he got a tractor stuck. More than once is my guess. So don't feel so bad. And you did a mighty fine job of getting it stuck !! Go big or go home !!!
We were digging some wet holes in Cape Elizabeth late one fall. Had the big 4wd Case 2470 with duals on all 4 rigged with two tow chains. One to pull the harvester and one to pull the GMC 2-1/2 army 6x6. Driver of the 2470 would wait before the wet holes and we would hook up before we got to the mud. Not so sure it was worthwhile but we got the dug.

I saw a heavy cable break once, and it missed someone’s head by mere inches, and wound up taking out half a wall on the end of a small barn.
Wow! Thanks for the advice! I know these things, but it’s always good to hear the stories to make you remember again.
That's what I was going to say. I had a friend get killed when a chain snapped while pulling out a buried tractor. It went through the back of the cab and hit him in the head.
@@shanepetit what I witnessed was inches from the same thing. RIP for your friend.
I have pulled more stuff stuck this past year six months care to think about! Basically tandems and road tractors.
By the way thanks for the video! Drought is over here mid mid west
Wet season is long for you!
Good luck
@@BellsFarming Disabled 60+ year old country boy very blessed to be a part of farming mid Midwest Even on the sideline God bless
Had me laughing pretty hard Molly once I saw the tractor . Sweet video and Shane to the rescue!
Oh good I’m glad I made you laugh! Hahaha 😆 beside wasting time, the whole thing was a little funny!
Is that field in Durham? I believe we drive by that field on the way to visit Freeport from Auburn?
This field is in Lewiston. But the one in Durham also has a pivot! That’s where the potato planting video was!
Oy yoy yoy, the things some people do to get good youtube content! 😄
That came out easier than I thought it would, good thing it was sand and not heavy gumbo. It happens to the best of us, welcome to the club!
Hahah thanks! It does make good content though your right
Red tractors just don’t get stuck like the green ones - chuckles! Good stuff one more great video!
Haha oh I don’t know about that! Haha thank you!
Awesome video! That was a great save. Great teamwork and communication work well in farming or any business. Thank you for sharing, I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. Good luck with the upcoming planting season, and I hope it continues to dry up for you. Have a great day.
Hey Brad! Thank you very much! 🫶😊🚜
Well getting stuck out in those wet fields is going to happen. Sooner or later. But you kept smiling through the whole process of getting unstuck and wasn't that bad. I'm looking forward to the next video.❤
Thank you Gary!
Wow never saw anyone so excited to get unstuck! Lo.glad you got out.
Haha I’m always excited Paul !
@@BellsFarming that's a fact! Lol
You got out of the mess more easily than I thought you would. You really got the tractor stuck. It happens to everyone.
Yeah you can see Shane’s body language as he walks around the tractor hahah
You don’t learn if you don’t make mistakes, mistakes makes you a better person to make yourself better than you were yesterday
Keep moving forward
Very true! And if you don’t try new thing you will never excel
Wow!!! Getting caught up on some older videos. Good save. It’s very unpredictable what may be lurking underneath. Local farmers had a JD larger than this one sink in the spring. Needed a crane on solid ground to pull it out. Your husband is amazing and knew what to do.
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
I like the double action cameras!
Thank you!
That bad . she says with a cheeky smile 😂❤ 🤣
Hahaha I laugh at myself watching this footage. Hahah
I am a Camel Jockey from the Arabian Desert and I really love farming and such beautiful landscape, and definitely the lady is an awesome farmer and vibrant person. Regards.
nice parking job! 🤣 yeah, it sucks getting anything stuck, but still gave many a good chuckle, with wishes it gets pulled out easily. 😉
Thank you! Luckily it wasn’t a bad one. Just looked bad! I’m glad I was able to make you laugh a little 😁 thank you for watching and commenting.
Gotta respect a girl who walks about with a tie chain casually swung over her shoulder 👍
Hahah you’re right I’m sure it will happen again soon, ha! Let’s just hope I wait until next seasons 😁😁
Thank you for the recommendation!
@@BellsFarming Always a good idea to fix something along the towing line, whether chain, strop, cable or rope to act as a whiplash brake. Spare wheel, tarp etc. Multiples for such a long chain. Well worth taking a training course on this as you're on soft land.
Do you have a 2 1/2 in Yacome rope? I’ve used mine to pull out a loaded Semi out with my Massey 180. Took two good pulls but did do the job
It yet! Everyone suggested them! So I am going to get one!
Been there, done that. I got a John Deere 4020 so buried discing I was able to step over the cowel. Got to watch out for field sharks!
Hahahaha 🦈
@@BellsFarmingThank God you didn't ruin those jeans! 😅
So I saw an open station ford tractor in your video. Is that for sale?
Probably not, but you never know I guess
Yep….that’s a whoopsie! I feel sorry for you guys…..been there done that too! Glad it came out so easy…thought maybe the tracked backhoe might have to be used as how soft the ground was in that area…..lucky you!
It is always fun to watch the gals smile.
Dave D.
Thanks for the update! Hope your wife’s ankle recovery goes well! Tendon stuff takes a long time to heal! Have a wonderful day!
If you never buried a tractor, you're not farming 😂
Hahaha very true
It’s the quickmud, as soon as you sense you’re in it, it’s too late. Any yankee who’s worked a field has gotten stuck, only the confident ones admit it. Bravo to you.
Thank you!
We all get stuck at some point Molly, it is nothing to be ashamed of. Just another experience 😊
Another skill hahah
Great video. I am not a farmer but over the years I have been stuck real good several times. I have three boys so there have been lots of stuck adventures. Watching other channels I see them use yankem stretchy ropes. You should look into them. I’m sure this is not the last time you will get stuck. Also it’s great to have neighbors that will drop what they are doing to help out. I am sure you would do the same for him.
Well done without to much pain! Keep on trucking.😅
Yeah it came out very easy!
@@BellsFarming an best no damage, 😅🐓
Wow that sunk to the frame the east coast have been getting hammered with rain these past few weeks it’s wet all over but you got out fairly easy nice job later girl.❤️😎🇺🇸
Easy in, easy out lol
No worries, Molly, it happens to the best of us.
Hi!!!! What brand jeans are you wearing?
American eagle
I have been lucky. Clay, loam, pretty easy to navigate. Sand happens SO FAST! 5 seconds, you can go from 'everything's fine' to Oh crap! Do like she did, get a pull out.. Good job.
Thank you! 💚🚜
You are the best. If you never got something stuck then you never drove anything
It did look pretty bad but you and Shane made it look easy that yellow machine is pretty powerful very good content we love all your videos they're all interesting thanks very much
Thank you very much! Shane really makes everything look easy! Thank you for watching our videos! 🚜💚😊
Been there ! I almost thought Shane was going to get the hydro -ax buried for a minute. But came out pretty easy. good video
Yeah Keith, he thought the hydro axe wasn’t going to work. He was not very confident! Haha
Looking great, all is good.
Well that come out much easier than I thought it would, the machine pulling was impressive. Well done guys
Who knew there was quicksand in Maine? The bright side is now you have some really cool chain in case you ever need it again.
How many times did you turn those tires before you realized you were in over your head.
Ha! I really didn’t. As I drove and the tractor started to tip down into the “quick sand” hahah I knew I would only make it worse If I spun my tires. I’ll give myself credit for that at least.
Ok, I'll give you that much
I saw an articulated 200 hp White tractor bury itself in Western New York while chopping corn.
@BellsFarming You did great. Hey, you have a new subscriber to your channel. Thank you and be safe.
Thank you!!
Hey Molly & Shane, looks like some heavy duty rigging straps are in your future. Get yourself some nice shackles too. Would the front loader have worked too or was the ground to soft for that as well?
Ground was too soft for loader I think.
Everyone who farms any size of land gets stuck and nearly everyone gets out without needing to call in the Ron Pratts and Heavy D's 🙂I think you did a great job getting it free!
Thank you!
Isn't it nice that youtube brings people together ?
I didn't expect to see those names but I did.
Where you guys from

Oops Stuck Tractor.. love your vidio .. always sucsess friend 🇮🇩🙏⚒⛏😍💓👍👍
Thank you very much!
Hi! I am posting this comment on behalf of my four-year-old son, Avi, who is tractor obsessed and loves your videos. Here is his message:
“Hi Molly! Hi Shane! Thank you for your videos. I love watching them. And I have a toy tractor at home! 🚜” - Avi
This is great! Thank you so much for posting this comment! Tell Avi we both say hello and are very thankful that you like the videos. Keep playing with your tractors and hopefully one day you will get to drive a big one! 🫶🚜🌱👍🏻😁
Great video Molly and Shane
Ask Shane how many times he got a tractor stuck. More than once is my guess. So don't feel so bad. And you did a mighty fine job of getting it stuck !! Go big or go home !!!
I lost count of how many times I buried a tractor by the time I was 15 probably hahaha
Hahaha yes that’s how I roll! Go big or go home! Good one. Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate the support 😁🚜😊💚
Great video, stay on the green young lady
Thank you! Yes I will stay on the green! Hahah thank you for watching.
Good job!
Did Shane say, Hey Molly you can’t park there?? Haha!
Great vid Guys !
Hahah I was just trying to take his parking spot from the week before haha
Hey Molly, good job haha. Shane to the rescue! You work hard and thing happen!
😊🚜
We used to put a truck tire in the chain or cable set and snatch on em. The tire would stretch out and give a ridiculous amount of tension
Good idea
Don't take long in the sand! Here near Green Bay on our farm, we have a little of each. The swamp has black soil with a clay bottom about 12-18 inches down. Kinda nice. But that sand and pure clay tend to wanna getcha! You didn't 😊 do anything wrong, if you don't get stuck once in awhile , you sure as hell ain't trying!!😊
The black swamp soil I know that stuff too, but I haven’t buried my tractor in it yet! Hahah thank you for your positive comment! Have a wonderful day and happy farming! 🚜💚
Maybe Yankum Ropes will want to sponsor you now! You really planted that tractor
It happens, my goodness we get a tractor stuck every year it seams. five years ago I had enough, and the farm invested in a Yankam ropes and boy let me tell you what that thing is a game changer so I don’t know if that something that your Farm is able to invest in or not, but they work very good.
You are the second person to recommend one. We will look into it! Thank you.
Like they say.... if you gonna do it, do it right! ...and you done good! lol!
Hahah yes I did!
Shane got you out easier than I thought.
