- Well I did a thing, I got my tractor stuck really good this time! This is not fake, and it makes me sad that I even have to say this in the description. But I have been accused of staging this video. Wow the nerve of people.
Great video, nobody got hurt, tractor got out, the rain may have put a damper on the day's work, but the tractor is out. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Yes that’s right!
@@BellsFarming
Just by experience of being a farmer all my life
Everyone who drove a tractor at one time or another got a tractor stuck
For it comes with the nature of farming
You didn't screw up.
Farming is always a calculated risk with given guarantees of something getting stuck somewhere unexpectedly.
What amazed me is how calm you and the guy working with you to get unstuck are.
AND My Goodness how strong your shoulders, bi's, and Tri's muscles are. You hefted all of those heavy chains like they were plastic.
That's impressive 👏 👌 👍 ❤❤❤
That tractor came out a lot easier than I thought. During our wet years here in ND many a tractor or combine needed to be dug out using an excavator or pulled out by a semi wrecker.
Later on those events make for great stories.!!!
Yeah sounds extreme! I’m glad it wasn’t. That bad! Thank for sharing 🚜💚
Every season needs a good story/lesson that is retold
I agree I thought they were going to have to use the excavator to get the tractor out!
Yay! From solid to soup in one length of a tractor - hard to believe. It was amazing how the JD crawled out on it's own once the front axel was out of the soup pit.
Lots of people talk about how great their straps are, but not so many brave enough to show their mistakes. 😉
Those tire chains are awesome! Amazing how Shane was able to wiggle himself out of a tricky situation!
I wish we all could all be as cheery as you Molly. 😊
Hey George! Thank you very much for your comment! I’m glad you could see how quickly the ground changed hahah! Yeah Shane almost got himself stuck too. That hydro axe is more than just a forestry machine now! It’s on recovery! Thank you very much for watching and commenting 🫶😊🚜
Kallstrom Sweet Corn here . When we first moved to Eastern Washington aprox. years ago , We had to learn the soils . One day we had 2 tractors a pickup & a motorcycle stuck all in the same area
This spot has calmed 3 tractors and a loader over the last two weeks. What a mess. It’s not that large of an area, it just won’t dry, too much sandy soil accumulated there from the washouts we had months back with all the rain.
I am new to the channel. I have subscribed. You are not stupid. Breakdowns, getting stuck, etc., is part of farming. The retrieval is the fun part. Molly you do an excellent job putting the videos together. I have been watching older videos which are fun to watch. You do a nice job editing and narrating. Y'all are the first potato operation I have ever seen. Lived in the Portland OR metro area for 35 years. Retired and left. Yankum ropes uses a nylon braid sheath with an internal core of strait nylon cords. You can drive forward on a slack line, The line stretches and uses the stored kineic energy pops stuck equipment right out. While in college a contract farmer drove a brand new steiger into the cattails, That is stupid. It took a D8 cat and two other high HP tractors to pull it out of the cattails.
Hey thanks for subscribing Joe! And thanks for the encouragement! There is another potato channel, Rocky Mountain farmer. But they are huge in Idaho! I feel like we have a lot of fun working and I want to share how good life can be on a farm.
I agree with you and the rope. I don’t think we have ever had one. Thank you again!
I was just going to suggest Yankum ropes, they are worth the money. Don’t break like chains do.
The one that never makes a mistake is the one that never does anything. You and Shane can work for me anytime.
I guess if you’re going to get stuck you may as well do it good. Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully things get better. Thanks for sharing.
Hahah yes I try and do a good job at everything ! And I did good getting stuck too! Hahah
im very good at getting stuck
I don't believe that you messed up. I"m sure the flash rains we're experiencing there are hundreds of fields that are either flooded out or appear to be dry but the water table is a foot under the surface. I commend your attitude for not getting P off and angry.. Given your original background, I complement your happy and can do attitude. Your work ethics is to be admired.
Thank you!
It happens to everyone and don’t get down on yourself. I’m assuming one those Fields that was Flooded… Lots of Sandy/Silt. Stay safe out there. ✌️🇨🇦
That Front Loader is a Beast! 👍
Yup! Looks like you found the wettest spit in the field Molly! Just another humbling experience when using heavy machinery on unstable ground. You guys handled it with patience and got the tractor out of there. Great work!
Thank you very much!
It's nice to see farmers helping farmers. Our world would be a terrible place without farmers.
Farmers are usually some of the nicest people! I know.
If you've never sunk a machine, you have never done tillage
Oh I have done it a few times, this one is the worst! Haha all part of tillage like you said!
Rubbish. A competent operator will never put his machine in such a situation.
lol, go with that attitude and you’ll never plant / harvest a full crop
Everyone I know that farms has gotten stuck multiple occasions, good thing there’s enough of us incompetent farmers to keep you fed
@@jbraeslambfarming involves tremendous risks, this is one of them. I've never seen this before I'm surprised it wasn't marked
Molly, don't worry about the small stuff, every farmer gets stuck once in awhile! But you did a good job getting it stuck! 😅
You were not alone, there was another tractor that almost got stuck. Almost needed an excavator. Might delay sowing that patch for a while. Now both vehicles might need a wash. Thanks for the video.
😊💚🚜
I can see how this could happen to anyone in farming. Shane was so sure of how to get you out I am sure he has had his own experiences of doing the same. Life is good. Happy you are safe.
Hahah yeah he made quick work of it!
No worries, Molly, it happens to the best of us.
Wow ! 👀 Molly that's quite the predicament my friend 😣 Just good to see you're ok, and wasn't worse. Take care Molly and Shane 🙏🏻God Bless 💚Appreciate you 👍🏻
💚🫶
My grandaddy would have said look at that ground son you should have known better. And you never done much tillage if you haven't been stuck you did a good job. I give it a 8 out 10.
🏆 hahahah
Hi! I am posting this comment on behalf of my four-year-old son, Avi, who is tractor obsessed and loves your videos. Here is his message:
“Hi Molly! Hi Shane! Thank you for your videos. I love watching them. And I have a toy tractor at home! 🚜” - Avi
This is great! Thank you so much for posting this comment! Tell Avi we both say hello and are very thankful that you like the videos. Keep playing with your tractors and hopefully one day you will get to drive a big one! 🫶🚜🌱👍🏻😁
That was a big OOOPPPS! I like how you keep if fun and laugh it off!! Could be one of your Blooper videos. Keep smiling!😁
à ce niveau , il n'y avait pas d'autre solution . J'ai connu ce phénomène dans des fermes et chantier en poids lourd
Good work getting stuck in the mud, all a part of farming. My inlaws were dairy farmers for years, your subscriptions are getting up there
Hey John! Thanks for watching! Yeah it seems like the channel is growing:) thank you for watching our videos. I haven’t spent time on a dairy farm, but I watch Tayfarms and really enjoy her videos!
Nothing broke and it didn’t get worse. That’s a win. Great job you guys.
Thank you very much!
Wow never saw anyone so excited to get unstuck! Lo.glad you got out.
Haha I’m always excited Paul !
@@BellsFarming that's a fact! Lol
I am surprised that the small chain you used didn't break. I have switched to 100% synthetic rope to replace all chains and cables that we used for towing and vehicle rescue work. The synthetic rope is lighter in weight, easier to lug around, doesn't rust, it is much stronger, and most importantly, it doesn't whip lash when it breaks. I would look into synthetic rope.
Thank you for the recommendation!
@@BellsFarming Always a good idea to fix something along the towing line, whether chain, strop, cable or rope to act as a whiplash brake. Spare wheel, tarp etc. Multiples for such a long chain. Well worth taking a training course on this as you're on soft land.
I’m not new on the Chan or in a tractor, I’m a professional tow recovery specialist, my whole life, and the main trait,, is called recon, the area before you drive off into it, lol we /you learn this lesson at least once, it just a teaching experience, and some like me figure it out , and we still make mistakes sometimes, but I try not too, thanks beautiful lady, youf good, thanks BigAl California ❤❤❤ ya.
❤️😊
Maybe Yankum Ropes will want to sponsor you now! You really planted that tractor
Alright now Shane to the rescue! I will say when you get stuck Molly you really get it stuck good…and deep! Crikey!! 😉😂
Hahaha oh I try to be the best!

Keep moving forward
Very true! And if you don’t try new thing you will never excel
Who knew there was quicksand in Maine? The bright side is now you have some really cool chain in case you ever need it again.
What a great team you guys work great together. That came out a lot easier than I thought it would.
Once the ground cannot support the tractor weight, it will stick
Thank you Molly and Shane 👍 the tractor was well and truly stuck and yes it did look like it sunk more when you returned with Shane, thought Shane was going to get stuck to 🤣 fantastic rescue,,lesson learnt 😮 thanks for another exciting video 😊 UK 🇬🇧
Thank you Pete! Shane to the rescue!
@@BellsFarming thank you Molly,,,"Shane" your Knight in shining armour 🤣😂😅👍

@@BellsFarming he certainly is,,,it must be love ❤ 😃
Wow!!! I've seen a stuck tractor many times, in fact I've been stuck myself many times, but I've never seen one buried as well as yours was. Y'all were very fortunate it came out that easily. I was expecting the chain to break many times, as well as you needing more length of chains that you had but I was amazed at how easily it actually started coming out!
You’re telling me! I was very happy and surprised also! Have a great day!
I hope you have a great day too. We are so wet here we can't even bale hay, not enough window to mow it and get it cured to bale. I'm retired and work Part time as needed for a neighboring farmer, helping him plant and harvest his corn, wheat and soybean crops plus bale hay too. I'm Ron, btw, 68 years of age from SW Missouri 2 hours South of Kansas City.
Don’t worry Molly. If you drive a tractor sooner or later you gonna get stuck. At least you had the equipment to get it out.
Shane to the rescue-great teamwork 👍. Heavy equipment and soft ground …it happens.
Thank you 😊
Red tractors just don’t get stuck like the green ones - chuckles! Good stuff one more great video!
Haha oh I don’t know about that! Haha thank you!
I am a Camel Jockey from the Arabian Desert and I really love farming and such beautiful landscape, and definitely the lady is an awesome farmer and vibrant person. Regards.
I got stuck in that very same tractor in “hidden quick salad” and had to get a big dozer to pull me out. Part of farming. Keep heave tow straps handy.
@@Buddhistview145 I’m so glad the tractor came out easily! It looked like a nightmare, I need ones of those ropes! Thanks for commenting.
We all get stuck at some point Molly, it is nothing to be ashamed of. Just another experience 😊
Another skill hahah
I'm a big fan of the Yankum ropes now. Back in the day the manure spreader wagon would get stuck, same time in spring, ground still wet and soggy. we'd unhook wagon and get tractor out on dry land, then hook chains together and drag it out. usually emptied manure first make it lighter. Been right were you are kiddo!
Thanks for the support! I will look into the ropes!
Let me tell you a story, one time long time ago, I drove into a puddle of water going out of my yard that I had then, and my fork lift all terrain towable, fell down to its top side of its axle, I had to let it dry up ( the mud hole for 4 months,) 75 ton wrecker could not pull it , out, ,,, finally it dried out enough,I drove it out of the mod hole, thanks BigAl California.
Hahah that sounds like a mess! We all do it! Thanks for the story Al!
I seriously thought you would need more equipment to pull you out. That machine that Shane was in had some serious torque....
Loaded tires/ tire chains/4- way lockers. It usually does the trick
If you never buried a tractor, you're not farming 😂
Hahaha very true
Yep….that’s a whoopsie! I feel sorry for you guys…..been there done that too! Glad it came out so easy…thought maybe the tracked backhoe might have to be used as how soft the ground was in that area…..lucky you!
nice parking job! 🤣 yeah, it sucks getting anything stuck, but still gave many a good chuckle, with wishes it gets pulled out easily. 😉
Thank you! Luckily it wasn’t a bad one. Just looked bad! I’m glad I was able to make you laugh a little 😁 thank you for watching and commenting.
It’s the quickmud, as soon as you sense you’re in it, it’s too late. Any yankee who’s worked a field has gotten stuck, only the confident ones admit it. Bravo to you.
Thank you!
Been there, done that. I got a John Deere 4020 so buried discing I was able to step over the cowel. Got to watch out for field sharks!
Hahahaha 🦈
@@BellsFarmingThank God you didn't ruin those jeans! 😅
Molly. Go big or go home!😂😂. Part of farming and you had help to get unstuck. Thanks for showing us your continuing adventures.
Thank you Steve!
It is always fun to watch the gals smile.
Yupp been there too, go logging in the winter in the past, even rolled a few skidders. Grateful for seat belts.
Yikes! Glad you were alright!
@@BellsFarming farmers, loggers are "tough to dead" out West loggers slang. Logged in the British Columbia Coast mountains, dumped many a 5'+ tree with 090 Stihls chuckled when I saw the feller buncher come to your rescue.
Wow! You were sunk! Nice teamwork getting free from that mess! 👏🏼👍🏼
Amazing you get that stuck in that all that mud that's amazing that you could get that pulled out wanted to say that you should get Straps Straps to know how to use straps instead of chain steps will really be the way to go when you pull heavier equipment Chain will help you not have that front end pulling against yours steering and columns and the frame of the tractor so anyways just just a sign of having straps is a lot better the strength is better and nothing gets bent and stressed out with straps, Mike
whoa ( old texas expression) .....this episode recalls some of `let`s dig 18` youtube videos.. ( where he has to use swamp mats and excavators, bulldozers, etc to get heavy machinery out of big mud jobs..) you and Shane did fine..( those big dual rear wheels on the deere helped a lot..) great stuff, and thanks...
Thank you! He makes everything look easy! Thanks for watching :)
Molly...I think, that I speak for a vast majority. We are glad you are alright!
Can I get a show of hands? 😊
Hahahahha yes only my pride was hurt!
Don’t think this is the last time you get stuck. If you’re working off pavement you will get stuck. You might even get stuck on pavement when snow or ice are present. Thanks for your videos. Jerome Manhattan Ks.
It happens to all of us, most important thing everyone is safe and no damage. Thanks for the videos and stay safe.
Yes
Well that come out much easier than I thought it would, the machine pulling was impressive. Well done guys
Damn Molly, when I saw the notification I figured clickbait then started watching the video and said “ holy shit kid you sunk it good “
Hahah 110% 😁
i find it crazy that those big tractors can even get stuck just sinking haha, that really must of been some horrible sandy soil.
It’s was like a pit lol solid, then drop off haha
Getting stuck stinks. I'm old enough to have found every way imaginable. That said, I'll probably find a new way tomorrow and need to hire like 3 excavators.
Hahah good luck! 🤞🏻
Nice job, Molly. Years ago my old farmer neighbor dragged me out of a similar situation saying...'what were you thinking boy?'😁
Tell Shane if you were ridiculously fucking stuck it would have taken 2 more machines to get you out.
Hahaha yes this is true! Good point!
Glad it was fairly easy to get out.
When using any tow device, either rope or chain, it’s a good practice to throw a coat or blanket over the middle section. Just in case(heaven forbid) the chain breaks, the coat will diminish its momentum and prevent damage. I saw a heavy cable break once, and it missed someone’s head by mere inches, and wound up taking out half a wall on the end of a small barn.
Wow! Thanks for the advice! I know these things, but it’s always good to hear the stories to make you remember again.
That's what I was going to say. I had a friend get killed when a chain snapped while pulling out a buried tractor. It went through the back of the cab and hit him in the head.
@@shanepetit what I witnessed was inches from the same thing. RIP for your friend.
I have pulled more stuff stuck this past year six months care to think about! Basically tandems and road tractors.
By the way thanks for the video! Drought is over here mid mid west
Wet season is long for you!
Good luck
@@BellsFarming Disabled 60+ year old country boy very blessed to be a part of farming mid Midwest Even on the sideline God bless
We used to put a truck tire in the chain or cable set and snatch on em. The tire would stretch out and give a ridiculous amount of tension
Good idea
Every farmer wants to plow earlier than their neighbor, but not so early as to have their neighbors see them get stuck! You'll have to mark those wet spots on your GPS map of the field for future reference. I had much smaller tractors, but always took planks, a shovel and a jack to extricate my tractor. You did a great job of managing wheel slip on the extraction part.
Thank you! Shane to the rescue! The spot is a new problem area. We have been. Working to level this field all winter. And the rain has washed out a lot of the soil to this spot. Will be a little project to get it cleaned up again! Thank you for your support! 💚🚜😊
I have been lucky. Clay, loam, pretty easy to navigate. Sand happens SO FAST! 5 seconds, you can go from 'everything's fine' to Oh crap! Do like she did, get a pull out.. Good job.
Thank you! 💚🚜
Next time, back the truck up to the tractor 🚜 👼

Don't beat yourself up, it happens and if it looks dry on top you go with that till you know different.
Anytime you operate equipment and you do it long enough your gonna bury it. It's all in the learning curve. Mint video Molly thx! 🐾🚜
Thank you!
I love how you stay positive and see the funny side of farming life. As many have commented it’s only those who do nothing who don’t get into problems, good video and well done to Shane and yourself for working through a little problem!
Thank you! Stuff happens! Being positive and making light of things makes everything go better. No one likes a grumpy goose! Hahah thanks you very much for watching and commenting. 🚜😊💚
I know someone who rolled a tractor over going thru a steep ditch so compared to that this is just a learning lesson. That is why they have those glass breaking hammers in tractors in Europe hanging in the cab.
Scary terrain! I hope I never learn that lesion!
That sucks your tractor got stuck. At least you got it freed.
Yeah it’s wasn’t so bad! That spot has gotten two tractors and a loader so far
@@BellsFarming wow that’s crazy.
As others have said, it happens. And yes, I've done it with loaders( Cat 980). It's a learning experience, at least that's what they tell you.
Yes! Learning, I love learning :) even if it’s the hard way haha
I was 42 when I started to learn to operate Cat dozers, loaders and 769 off road dumpers. We got a 5 minute course on how it worked and then you were an expert. And, if you messed up, you had to figure out how to fix the problem yourself. Was a heck of a learning curve for this guy as I came from office jobs before this. Keep you're chin up and never quit.
Gotta respect a girl who walks about with a tie chain casually swung over her shoulder 👍
I got stuck owing one day, it took 3 tractors and. Loaded 10 wheeler all hooked together to get me out.
Oh you win!!!
Everyone who farms any size of land gets stuck and nearly everyone gets out without needing to call in the Ron Pratts and Heavy D's 🙂I think you did a great job getting it free!
Thank you!
Isn't it nice that youtube brings people together ?
I didn't expect to see those names but I did.
Hey Molly, Don't feel bad, everyone gets stuck once in awhile. I got a cat stuck once years ago, it took a long time to get it out, months. 😢
Oh no! Thanks for your support 🫶
I’m from Maine myself. Awesome work nice to see a TH-cam farming channel in Maine planting potatoes and sweet corn. My family that’s originally from the country did the same thing. Keep up the good work.
Oh great Randy! Thank for watching.
You got out of the mess more easily than I thought you would. You really got the tractor stuck. It happens to everyone.
Yeah you can see Shane’s body language as he walks around the tractor hahah
I've seen pictures of bulldozers sinking out of sight in mud and fine tailings in mining operations. I'm surprised that a farm field has silt that deep.
It’s newly appeared from washouts from ridiculous amounts of rain and flooding, eventually it’ll get pushed back up the hill to where it came from I hope
This is a place where all the silt washed down the hill from all the rain. We have some serious wash outs to fix above where all this quick sand is. You right, it doesn’t belong there.
Stuck as a stuck thing. Don't worry, your friends will have forgotten about this in ten years or so. Those new chains will be known as "Molly's chains". 🙂

When you make an oops, you do it right! To be honest I drove off road in a mixer and dump for years. Quite often we just wouldn't go off road if it was iffy, but I've been stuck before and sandy soil like that is more unpredictable than most of the soil around Ohio. It looks dry or stays damp and if the ground underneath is soaked you drop like a rock. You can't stop and back out so I feel for you but it won't be the last time!
Hahah you’re right I’m sure it will happen again soon, ha! Let’s just hope I wait until next seasons 😁😁
Molly that is what I call temporarily immobilized, its what we would say when trail riding with Jeeps when we got stuck. Dave D.
Ha! How’s the weather up there?
It happens to everyone. If you're going to get stuck, might as well go big.I would always carry a chain with me. Sometimes if I was about to get stuck, I would unhook the disc and most times I could drive out. I would then hook chain to back of disc and pull it out
Shane has done this too
You handled it like a pro, you stopped when you got stuck and didn't sink it down to the windows and didn't spin your tires when backing out.
That’s one thing that’s always baffled me about some people that get their equipment, or vehicle in general stuck. Her kind of situation I understand it comes with the territory. Otherwise why the immediate response is to send it the second you realize the wheels are spinning but you’re not going anywhere.
Which leads to burying your rig down to the axles.
It happens, my goodness we get a tractor stuck every year it seams. five years ago I had enough, and the farm invested in a Yankam ropes and boy let me tell you what that thing is a game changer so I don’t know if that something that your Farm is able to invest in or not, but they work very good.
You are the second person to recommend one. We will look into it! Thank you.
No.1,that’s a stuck to be proud of😂😂😂😂,and NO.2,as long as you can walk away laughing its no big deal😂😂😂😂!!!!
