The vent blockers were made to be removed because the cooling would be too much for the stock car. They said they left a lot of space for tuners and a possibility to increase air intake if needed. Look it up man there is a video where Toyota explains the car in depth your opinion on the car might change
Not sure if the vent on doors can be used, there's a black plastic on the car body (behind door), maybe it hides a air duct. Also, I believe there's spare engine mounts for mods. Why isn't there modified recent Supras out there? Why not improve the 2JZ-GTE and continue the cast iron block magic

@@alexk3469 for tuning or racing the 4 pot is a brilliant platform, it's lighter, less tech etc etc. I'm pretty sure there is a HotVersion video where they compare a tuned 6cyl vs a 4cyl with some racey mods and both drivers preferred the 4 iirc - i guess if you want to mod, 4 is best, OEM 6 cyl.

I think for a "base" model it's got the right amount of power. I've only ever experienced the B48 in an X3, of all cars, but even there, I found it to be a great engine. It probably feels awesome pulling a much lighter car around.
You're a bit inured to hugely fast cars I think - you were at 200 kmh in around 14 seconds from 100 kmh and that's as quick as the chipped 330d you filmed the other day. So yes, for the power (since you need to benchmark your expectations obviously), it is fast. You've fetishised the engine specification, and like most reviewers you can't see past that to much else. At the end of the day, for most busy roads, this is way faster than 99% of drivers' talents will allow. It's also clear that handling is a pretty distant second to straight-line speed when it comes to internet "likes".
I have a 2009 4 cylinder Nissan that keeps up with most 6 cylinders, good enough for me. As for the camera, weird. I’m used to the old one. Looking forward it’s ok, but whenever you move your head left to right, right to left, weird. It might just be my tv. I like the old camera better. Good job on your videos.
Not having the Brembo brakes isnt really a negative, this car is 100kg lighter. So it probably brakes just as good as the 6 cylinder with Brembo brakes.
Obviously it's fast enough for country roads and the better weight distribution makes it more fun to drive there than the 3 litre. Emotionally the 3 litre is a different league, but this is good enough.

while the outside still brings some of the MK4 styling to memory, once inside it has no Toyota feeling at all.. wish they had kept some feeling of the former driver oriented console . After all, the popularity mentioned comes to a large part from the myth and aura of the old Supras. I used to have an MK3 , what a GT .
It honestly wouldn't have mattered if it looked or had any similarities to the old gens knowing they're decades apart so they're wouldn't have been much at all crossing back with the old gens anyway(especially since they had noting in common in the 1st place other than the basic formula per gen)

There is no tradition of a fast big engine supra. Your probably reffering to the supra mk4 but it came with only around 300ps from the factory. The supras that u have in mind are heavily modified because the 2jz engine provided a great tuning potential.

I really like how much of the FT-1 made it through the production process. Not a fake vent lover. There has to be something to cool or redirect that could open those up. I really do like the exterior a lot. The engine. Well BMW knows engines. That interior. HOLY CRAP does that interior SUCK. I have had electric shavers that looked better than what they went with. ZERO passion for driving seemed to be the goal for the design team. I don't have issues with the BMW parts bin bits. They are just all sort of soulessly sitting there looking very MEH.......... Adequately useable for their intended tasks.

That thing is incredibly fast for its numbers. Its 100-200 time is faster than the 540i which has the same b58 engine as the 3.0 litre Supra. Appreciate the 5 series is heavier but still... Very surprising. And very impressive.
Nothing and I do repeat nothing on the Supra is even made by Toyota. The whole car is comprised of BMW built parts. Even the "toyota" and the "supra" emblems on the car is made by BMW.

One thing you have to give Toyota respect for is that you get same sporty styling in 2L and 3L. You just choose what power you need. Now look at BMW, only M cars get sporty styling and cars like M240i are thin as a pencil no curves no nothing, all to entice you to spend more on the overpriced M.

I think giving it a 2L I4 kinda defeats the purpose of the Supra. It being a BMW already kinda ruins it for me. I dont care that the engine is BMW and also suspension and whatnot. But the interior should've been done by Toyota. Japanase cars have *crazy* interiors, its one of the selling points. But not for the Supra. It can have bland interior BMW applies to my mother's series 2 station wagon.
