I think many folks aren't aware NYC is a waterfront town. The city limits include 165 sq miles of water. Compared to around 300 sq miles of land. So that's over 1/3 of NYC. FDNY has two large FBs (140 ft), two fast FBs (~65 ft) & at last count about 10 smaller vessels of various sizes. Add the USCG, NYPD, volunteer FD boats & it's an impressive fleet.
