    On eBay. A top-notch seller was auctioning lots and singles. Baseball cards 1965 , 66 ,67, and 69. I won a few common lots and some decent name singles. When I got them half where fake. Wrong card stock. Close but wrong colors. So yes, folks do fake less $ cards

    SGC is getting overwhelmed by all the series 1 and starting to make sloppy PSA mistakes. Mislabeling an un gradable card is not s huge one at lease.

    Hey Ryan, My last name is Caporale and I believe my grandmother added the "e" at the end. I have picked up a few Sweet Caporal items, mostly reprints on tin. I do have an original Sweet Caporal tin that held cigarettes and I believe a trading card. I'd be interested in collecting an as complete as possible Sweet Caporal trading cards. Question; How difficult do you think that would be, and do you think there are any un-opened tins remaining? You are the expert. Bad Idea??

    With the technology on disposal, scammers are unfortunately greater in quantity and find roundabout ways to trim or alter cards but, I agree the Edison card is, unlikely counterfeit. Like you said, 99 percent probably never heard of Carson's chocolates.

    SGC isn't very well educated in many areas, which is a shame. I've had a number of issues trying to get them to authenticate cards in the past that I knew were authentic, but they only rejected them.

    • @BreakoutCards
      @BreakoutCards  ปีที่แล้ว

      None of the big 4 are well versed in niche Nonsports cards. I get it. There isn’t a ton of documentation

    • @vintagecollector5340
      @vintagecollector5340 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BreakoutCards True, but same can be said for a number of sports cards. They just don't grade anything they hadn't heard of or don't know much about, which kinda defeats the purpose of them having a grading company. If they can't even trust themselves to have enough expertise to grade the rare stuff, then what hope is there? You're right, SGC isn't alone in this, they just strike me as less educated. I also lost a deal on eBay through their authentication program for a 1952 Coca Cola Willie Mays promo. Guy only wanted 500.00 for it, which was a bargain. Extremely rare card through a very reputable seller, but because the "experts" weren't familiar enough with the card, I lost the deal and got refunded.

    • @BreakoutCards
      @BreakoutCards  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vintagecollector5340 CSG does ebay raw authentication, not SGC. That sucks about the promo. Do wish there was more research going on at grading companies

    • @vintagecollector5340
      @vintagecollector5340 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BreakoutCards I know it isn't SGC, I was just making a point that SGC isn't the only uneducated grader. It's a shame. I wanted to negotiate outside or eBay for the card, but the seller seemed more interested in keeping it and grading it with PSA. I agree that grading companies as a whole need to up their game.

    Hi Ryan. I found only one reference to a Carson's Chocolate - dated 1901. You referenced 1902? I would like you to go in a dark room and shine the black light. As you know, they should not display an iridescent character since they didn't start putting photo brighteners in cardboard till the late 30s. At least that's my understanding from my source - Cycleback website. Great job on the pickups and grades! Some really sweet cards buddy. 👍

    • @BreakoutCards
      @BreakoutCards  ปีที่แล้ว

      They light up the same as Ogdens which is a UK release. I believe that the production overseas was different than within the united states. Would love to see the 1901 year, not certain on distribution year but assume its early 1900s.

    OK I'm a little confused on something It looks like the Carson chocolate card You are showing is lighter than the other card But yet you said That the grating company made a mistake That they are real But the Kobe ovation auto That you state is fake because it is lighter Then another ovation auto couldn't that possibly just be A quality control problem what makes you the expert on that Kobe auto

    • @BreakoutCards
      @BreakoutCards  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The kobe ovations auto has multiple signs that it is fake, the most obvious being the incorrect signature on the card, the stock being different, as well as the hologram. It's also a well documented fake card. No one is faking a carson's chocolate card
