    I love when people make comments like "it's just a plant; it doesn't do anything" or "it's natural so it's safe." I usually respond with some variation on asking them to come over for dinner to eat some cool mushrooms I found by the river.

    Dear Alice, I would love to see you do a full brand review for APLB. Their products are super affordable and they have some promising ingredients but I'm seeing some mixed opinions on their actual effectiveness. Perhaps the concentrations for the active ingredients are to be blamed for this but I'm not sure. There seems to be a lack of reviews for most products even though they've been out for a while. Either way, I'd love to see you do a deep dive into their products and talk a little bit more about their formulations and your results with them. It would be super helpful! Lots of love ❤

      Yeah I bought their niacinamide glutathione mist essence and with regular use (3/4th through the bottle) I’m not impressed 🤷🏽‍♀️ not particularly hydrating (as a tret user I have a tendency towards dehydration), and I was expecting some subtle brightening and balancing of texture but didn’t notice either 😕
      Like I noticed better hydration, texture, and subtle complexion improvement from the Iunik rose galactomyces essential toner (tho it acted a little “soapy” sometimes with certain products) 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Good morning from tomorrow friends!!! I see Medipeel EVERYWHERE here in South Korea. So I have to thank you for this Alice! Also, correlation versus causation is always worth mentioning. I am always so happy and proud to be your subscriber. And say it with me…”it’s a great humectant!”

    I picked up that neck cream based off your recommendation and oh my gosh, I love it. ❤ It’s so fun to use and so hydrating. I also bring it down to my shoulders and chest and it’s actually helped with my skin texture too.
    For brand recommendations, it would be awesome to see an updated Prequel review with some of their new products. Also maybe a Hero Cosmetics review.
    Also also, thank you for also including your partners thoughts on products! It’s so helpful to also get her opinion.

    24:38 “I had my sweetie try this” 🥺❤️ aww Alice the way you talk about her warms my heart. So happy to see your beautiful face in my feed this morning! Definitely got a mixed bag of products today with medipeel. I’ve been so interested in their wrapping mask to wear as a final barrier to bed cuz I feel like it protects my skin at night and locks everything in. I wonder how it compares to the medicube collagen wrapping mask (I imagine it’s very similar) or the April skin one. Fantastic video as always ❤️

    Other than using the Medipeel neck cream consistently - I have been using Chogongjin every day and have noticed such a difference in my skin texture and brightness, I am just loving my skincare routines lately - embracing the calmness, lol. I have certainly put my skin through some trauma before - thank you so much for your in depth reviews, you are such a pleasure to watch. Alice, would you be willing to do a favorite anti-inflammatory skincare video? As someone with a very similar skin type (due to medications, used to be oily before. Now dry and sensitive, but rosacea instead of acne prone) it would be amazing if during your normal product reviews you might also mention when anti-inflammatory ingredients work well for acne but might be too harsh for rosacea, and what creams might be too emollient/trap heat on the face for rosacea but are still moisturizing enough for very dry skin. I always wonder these two things when you discuss texture of creams in reviews and anti-inflammatory products/ingredients being good for acne. I'd kill for a video on favorite cream/moisturizing cleansers too tbh.
    Also, I just have to say I love your ingredient deep dives and hope you make more soon! Especially one on Hanbang ingredients since you keep recommending them, or one on fermented ingredients as a whole. Like which ferments are best for which concerns, the different science, etc. like you did with the algae video. I'm just now starting an algae cream and peptide serum after binging all the ingredient deep dive videos.
    Hope you're having a lovely day! Thanks for such balanced and helpful content!

      I’m glad to hear there is interest in this! It makes a HUGE difference for me, and yet so few brands discuss it (because they can’t 👀)
      Definitely might be worth talking about*

    • @500_days_of_autumn
      @500_days_of_autumn 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @AliceintheRabbitHole Yes! I understand that rosacea can be difficult to talk about for brands and online persons for a variety of reasons, namely the unpredictability of the condition's reactivity and the need to avoid giving anything construed as medical advice. But it seems much more achievable to include rosacea in discussions regarding the research that exists for ingredients in the skincare and in discussions around product texture preferences.
      This is in no way a criticism of your videos, I appreciate all your research and information! I've just had a difficult time parsing how some ingredients seem to be confusingly contradictory for rosacea. For example, Tret can be notoriously drying/difficult for the skin barrier, but research shows it can be helpful for rosacea, which it is for me personally. I wonder about ingredients like Ginseng that are supposed to increase circulation/blood flow to the face (possibly bad for a vascular condition like rosacea) but can also be anti-inflammatory (very helpful for rosacea) and good for reactive and dry skin.
      (BTW, a correction -- I meant occlusive, not emollient in my first comment! Occlusive ingredients can sometimes trap heat for some people with rosacea.)

  • @joyvmtatusko5225

    Second the Naite Thread Neck cream! The texture grossed me out at first, but now I love it and always keep a back-up. Also second the disappointment in the power aqua cream. I though it would be fun like the Farm Stay rice gel and cream, but as you say, the gel/cream proportions are off and WOW the stink--I used it up on my legs. Two nice products you didn't try are the peptide 9 aqua essence toner, a light watery toner (light "aquatic" fragrance) that is good for my combo skin in the summer as a first layer before serums, and the peptide 9 aqua essence emulsion which is either a light moisturizer or a very thick milky toner that I layer over serums in cold dry weather. To me the emulsion smells like unfragranced apricot oil, though I see several other base oils including macadamia so it wouldn't work for people with nut allergies.

    Hello Alice ❤❤❤ - I am so in love the Medipeel neck cream - it really is amazing (I am also on my second tub and have a third one waiting). I have never, ever had such a great experience with a skincare product as I have with the Medipeel neck cream! It works for me - the texture I am used to now (weird, but I'm fine with it now). I seriously can not believe how much a difference this neck cream has made. I have used Strivectin, and other neck creams, but they definitely don't come close to Medipeel.

    I do like the neck cream and peptide essense. Was intrigued that it had volufiline. Dr raj charges $280 for his volufiline cream but his concentration may be higher. I can tolerate fragrance but almost always choose products that are fragrance free. My gripe with medpeel is the use of fragrance. It’s not an awful smell just not needed. And it’s not subtle. It’s a prominent medium level scent. I didn’t buy these products thinking they would be miracle products. There is no skincare product that can perform miracles. I have some fine lines and wrinkles. I try to keep my skin healthy and not lose my mind or sense of worth over a wrinkle. Life is too short.

    I haven’t tried many of their products, but I love the wrapping mask. I use it mainly on my nose and under my eyes after doing my skincare routine as a last step. Somehow during sleep some of my skincare ends in my eyes and it irritates my eyes terribly. With the mask I can lock in the skincare and it doesn’t transfer into my eyes during sleep. And somehow it makes the pores on my nose look smaller, maybe because of less oxidation? I don’t know, but it works!

    Alice, I'm a little confused about the Medipeel brand, I just don't know what to expect from it... My confusion is that Korean skincare has a different perspective, because we look for scientific proof of everything, while Koreans believe very faithfully in the power of plant extracts and what they can do for their skin, as you say, you have to keep an open mind and test if that combination of plants does wonders for our skin. Who knows? Apart from the video, I didn't know that ISDIN was so expensive in the United States, here it is a fairly affordable pharmacy brand. A big hug Alice and I hope you are well and I wish you the best with any difficulty that you or your partner may be facing, life is complex and we have to learn to overcome the precipices, then I assure you that you will come out stronger🌷😘

      Ara and I carried that package around the house a bit, nervous on whether to open it or not 🤣😂 but yes, as Ara opened it (at arms length and over a trash can and no…I don’t know what the plan was if it was something bad), I was peeking over her and suddenly started squealing.
      Goodness now I wish I’d filmed that “unboxing”.
      Thank you!!!

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole I got one at the same time I developed rosacea. So it’s still in the box until I see my derm. But I already know I will love it.

    Unrelated to the video but would your recommend Indeed Labs Snoxin or The Ordinary Argireline?

    I know you have an open mind for skincare textures so the remarks from you about how wildly stingy their one product is has me scared 😅

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very, VERY stringy! But I actually think that texture is contributing to why it works oh-so-well 😳

    I have the Isdin Urea lotion, I have to use literally TWO-ONLY TWO-pumps on my WET skin right after turning off the shower water otherwise I cannot STAND the texture (I have a lot of sensory issues)🥴 that said, it moisturizes *incredibly* well for how little I’m able to use, and my skin feels softer with continued use (which I’ve not experienced with other lotions). But to be fair, I don’t normally wear lotion because of the way it feels on my skin, especially when I put on clothes or try to sleep 🫠
    I want to try the neck cream (tech neck lines goin HAM at 28 😂) but I’ve been hesitant to buy it because of the texture 😅

      Yuuup, it’s kind of…slimy? But it works super well!
      Oh gosh I don’t know what to tell you with the neck cream then. Because I hated the texture initially, but I put up with it for the results! That said, I never hated how it feels, just the extra time it takes dealing with the strings (they can get everywhere lol). I wish sampling was more widespread in K-Beauty! 😔

      Even hours after applying it just still feels.. tacky? Like I’ve been sweating? Or like it’s really humid? Idk but applying *very little* while my skin is wet and letting it air dry while I do my (face) skincare routine seems to do the trick 🤷🏽‍♀️
