Bethany, you asked what Angelina's goals are for her career. At her recent Portsmouth, NH concert I was in the audience as she said "My mission is to spread love and kindness to the world." She is now experimenting with styles that fit her but also reach a wide audience so she can fulfill that heartfelt mission truly worldwide. 🙏
I was also at the concert in Portsmouth and agree with you completely. I just want to add how incredible it is to listen to her live. Her voice… the power, the range, the subtlety, the warmth, the emotion… I am still mesmerized over a week later.

Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). She performed FIFA AWARD song, and performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on TH-cam with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.
The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do!
Angelina's family has been consistent, wanting to wait until she is old enough to make ALL the decisions for her career. We have no idea when that time will come and should cherish these times when Angelina has plenty of time to write new songs and hopefully put together a band she can practice with and feel comfortable with, like the one for her concerts in Norway last summer. I loved the concert in Portsmouth, but it was clear Angelina and her band needed more practice. I believe Republic had nothing to do with that concert and am sure Angelina and her team will learn a lot from the experience.
Simply put by the end of 2024 tens of millions of listeners will discover Angelina and she will be on her way to taking over the planet. Vocally and artistically she is already at a level that separates her from the field and then when you consider 'who she is' as a humble. kind, caring and loving human being she enters the area beyond the beyond.
Her purpose? She has stated the most comfortable she is in her life is to be on a stage singing 'for people' to make them happy and to feel the love in her heart which she wants to share with them. Some may ask, "Is that believable?" Well, that has to do with being genuine and if you get goosebumps, or start to tear up (with the urge to cry), or find it difficult to speak during or right after she performs, those are indications she has touched your heart with her love and, btw, once that happens your heart will never let her go. "Yes, what is going on is very believable and she wants to contribute what she can to make the world a better place to live for everyone, particularly children and the unfortunate."
The EP and the album which will follow (very shortly) will touch base with the younger audience and that will be when the musical explosion will take place. And something very unique will occur. Once she entices the younger set to enjoy her music, slowly she will introduce them to her soft jazzy, soulful tones and they will begin to experience music like they've never heard before.
Angelina may never have the quantity and kind of fans that fill huge venues. But she will gradually touch more and more people with her love and emotional therapy. And there will be more than adequate followers to help provide her with a financially comfortable life. Her life has changed my life for the better and I will always be supportively grateful.
You cannot teach the way her moves match her song. She's had this for a very long time.

For me, Angelina is one of the chosen ones. She is a vessel for which music channels, unrestricted, through her being. Singing and performing for Angelina is equivalent to us mere mortals just breathing. She was destined to be what and where she is.
When seven year old Angelina was Involved in the Norway’s Got Talent contest she was asked what she wanted to do in her life. She said her dream is to be super star.
Angelina has her very own recording studio close to her home in LA, a studio provided by Republic Records/Universal Music Group.

In this interview for Norway TV Angelina states, "I think I have been incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to experience so many things despite my age. From being a 7-year-old girl, my biggest dream was to sing for the whole world and to spread love, and when that happened, it was truly a dream come true". This is a classic example of why she draws real people to her, people that appreciates what she is in this plastic world we have come to know.
Angelina's words reveal her genuine gratitude and humility for her amazing journey as a singer and a humanitarian. She has never forgotten her roots or her passion, and she has always used her voice to uplift others and inspire positive change. She is a rare gem in the entertainment industry, where many celebrities lose their authenticity and integrity. Angelina is not afraid to be herself, and that is why she attracts loyal fans who respect and admire her for who she is.
She now lives in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, where her record label Republic Records has built her own music studio.

And I noticed 2 all the comments on here. Nobody agrees or have said anything that this should have millions of views. I'm disappointed in the fans I'm supporting her 100%.
The main reason it has so few views I believe is that it has not been promoted by Republic Records yet. Angelina has a full album coming before the end of the year which she says will include these songs from her EP. World tour is also planned. I think at that point Republic will begin promoting, at least I hope so. The song is fire but more people need to know that it exists.
Great reaction! None of us really understand why she isn't chart busting, but it has a lot to do with the fact that Republic Records hasn't started really properly promoting her yet. It is likely that they are waiting for her to turn 18 and also for her full album at the end of this year. And why haven't you reacted to the whole EP yet??? Every song is this good!
I think a lot of people that aren't (yet) AJ fans don't realize that some might be able to mimic or duplicate some of her singing but they don't realize Angelina's incredible dynamics SEEM TO happen naturally but it's that she's become SO SKILLED at making incredible, technical choices so many thousands of times that it's almost second nature for her. Nevertheless, every note, every word is a choice she makes in split-second moments. Her intuitiveness is just phenomenal.
The first two songs on her new EP, being this one and 'Love Don't Let Me Go',
both have an Amy Winehouse vibe to them, staying in the Jazz/R&B lane. But
then Angelina veers into a multi-genre extravaganza of sound that is beyond
anything she'd ever recorded before. Her lyrics are 'deep' and 'profound' throughout
the EP and she applies such intricate, complex vocals that are mind boggling.
Angelina's life goal has always been to be a superstar and sing for the whole world. Her EP contains all original songs with Angelina as the principal writer. If you listen to the songs in the order they appear on the EP they tell an overall story about how Angelina currently sees herself and the world. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs so far and will be sharing them when they are ready. All of her original songwriting so far is based on her own journal entries (just as her book Between Two Hearts was).
I heard someone once define young Angelina’s interpretation of ‘superstar’ as ‘a guiding light to the world’.

Angelina recently had a sold-out concert in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where there was an audience from 9 different country all the way from Australia and from 39 different states in the USA. The title track of this EP "Love Don't Let Me Go" has over 3 million views in 4 months. The epic Bohemian Rhapsody has collected approx. 150 million views in 3 years. That's not bad for a 17-year-old artist. The record label will start marketing when her full album comes out later this year, with subsequent tours. PS! Angelina will always be a class artist and a future world star, and not a hit machine for 14 year old teenagers!

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. I agree Bethany, you have to wonder why this song/performance has not blown up. It has to be that radio, where most artists get their exposure, ONLY play the same songs/artists OVER and OVER . There must be a market for a radio station or DJs who look for new talent and give them exposure and airtime. I would listen to such a station and I am sure lots of others would to.
NONE of the young people that I know listen to the radio...ever. They've always got their earbuds in place listening to Spotify.
Sadly the majority of people exist in their comfortable bubble, listening to the music they have loved for many years. New artists only explode once fully promoted and millions jump on the bandwagon. We don't know when Angelina and her family will be ready to have Republic Records fully promote her but we shouldn't be in any rush, if they aren't. We do know Republic built Angelina her own studio. Don't think many 17 year olds get that.
My favorite duet: Angelina & Bethany. As you say, his entire Ep should have 10 times more views. We are waiting for a more aggressive promotion from Republic Records (UMG) which has not happened yet. Angelina can emulate any sound created by other artist but one thing seems to be true is that she is making it very difficult for others to emulate her. The uniqueness yet complicated style she sings you do not hear in artists today. Not many people pay much attention nor understand the beauty in that a lone. We are all hoping that sooner rather than later Republic Records elevate their status on promoting Angelina so she can get the recognition she deserves.

You are probably correct about what other people may hear when she sings and likely do not hear all the techniques, nuances, and mastery of her voice that set her way way apart from other "artists". This is so 60/70's but also Amie Winehouse. It's crazy the influences that she can pull from depending on the song she is singing but still make it her own.
This EP is all Angelina. In sequence, the songs weave a story. They dance through genres with an Angelina flare. For so long we have listened to her cover the work of others. And now we are hearing what she has to say. It is glorious. I don’t know where she is going to take us, but I am strapping in for the ride. Let’s go baby!!

This was not the only amazing song sung by Angelina on the EP, you'll find the other five equally amazing, all written, or co-written, by Angelina, no covers. She has her group of loyal fans, most of us older, and most of us having watched her journey starting around age six thru today.

I suspect Republic will not start fully promoting her until after her 18th birthday (the 10th of January), and perhaps not until the full release of her LP, which will also be all new songs, but to include these six. I look forward to watching your reviews of the remaining five songs on the EP, and am absolutely positive you will be equally impressed with each and every one of them.

Yes, it's a terrific original song from Angelina, so well performed and produced too. I've never experienced a journey like the one watching Angelina's development from 6 to 17. I wonder if, as a baby, did she cry with such wonderful timing, tone, control and vibrato? Probably!

My non-expert understanding is that when it comes to the number of different vocal textures Angelina makes use of, and how easily she moves between them and uses them for artistic and emotional expression, Angelina is the greatest singer who has ever lived, as least as far as we know.

Bethany, thanks (as always!) for your outstanding reaction. I think the issue of why AJ is not more "popular" is enormously complicated. I was at the Portsmouth concert, and AJ asked that everyone stand up, "come up front" and gather around her. That was very much at odds with the venue's idea of how concerts work. Basically, I think her career thus far is at odds with how the industry works in general -- and it seems that she and her family are okay, at this point, with that. AJ's mother (Sara) seemed genuinely astonished that people would fly in from 27 states and a dozen countries to see her daughter -- and after all this time, I'm not sure that anything but isolation from the industry could create that impression. I told Sara that I thought AJ was one of the most naturally gifted singers on the planet, and she seemed literally astonished that AJ could fill a 1k-seat venue.
She is Angelina Jordan and as she has stated she sings to bring love and kindness to the world ! Her love and sincere compassion is so evident in her vocals ! Her breathy, raspy and fabulous vibrato are entrenched in her DNA from her jazz infused childhood ! Like they say Angelina could sing the phone book and make her own and sound fantastic every time ! I also don't understand why there are not more views of this video. I love jazz music and AJ sings better than anyone else that I know of who is still living, however I am old. When trying to introduce AJ to younger people, the best I get is "She is OK". But why? I am still looking for an answer.

I've been living under a rock, so your reaction is my first time hearing Angelina...wow! And only 17??? Not sure how many views she had when you reacted, but I'm seeing almost 800K in 3 months, which seems strong, and this song is so good I'm sure she'll be in the multiple millions soon. Hey Bethany - one of the things I love so much about your reactions is that despite how deep and incredibly technical you can be (on the logic/how side), you are often also incredibly moved by what you hear and see (on the emotional/experience side). I love that amazing balance in you. When you react to Angelina, she seems to flip you to your emotional side and at times (even if just for a few bars or phrases) you get stuck there. Haha And it's soooo validating to watch some one as experienced and capable as you get truly sucked into Angelina. It's sooo relatable. This EP of hers is ridiculously good. This song, while it is so lovely to see an official video while hearing it (imo) is not the best song on the EP. I think many would say "Diamond" is their favorite (it's mine - at the moment), but I've also seen and experienced that people's favorite song changes depending on mood and how each song hits you at the moment. You need to hear all six of these songs (initially in order of how they have been arranged on the EP). Even if you don't react to all of them on your channel - you owe it to yourself (as an Angel) to listen to this whole EP and then put it on repeat. You will be amazed even more... It actually really depends on who you ask which is the best song on the EP. I have heard each of the 6 songs being someone’s favorite.
I personally can’t pick a favorite but my top 3 are probably Love Don’t Let Me Go, Now I’m the Fool and Diamond.

I agree that this song is so good and should have more views. There could be a few reasons. This song, as well as the entire EP is available for download and streaming so those listens may be taking away from views. A lot of Angelina’s previous releases such as Suspicious Minds were video only so TH-cam was the only way to listen.
Also since this is part of a 6 song EP, the listens/views may be split amongst the songs. One of the big reasons is there still hasn’t really been any publicity or marketing for Angelina yet. Many reactors when listening to songs from the EP didn’t even realize that it was released so only us fans are really in tune with her career.
Love Don’t Let Me Go is also on the EP and has over 3 million views however it was released early, about 2-1/2 months before the full EP. Since it was a stand alone reslease at the time fans probably listened to that one song over and over again, racking up the listens and views.
Hopefully these EP songs get the views, listens and recognition they really deserve. They are tfat good. Maybe the real publicity push will happen when her full album is released, apparently later this year.
You might be right about streaming. Every EP song that doesn't have a music video has twice as many streams on Spotify as views on YT - but that doesn't help much, because that means both together only count 350,000 each.
The EP is virtually invisible on streaming services - it's not listed anywhere in the top 200/300 except AppleMusic (at #143 in Norway). It's completely understandable that Sara was amazed at 900 tickets sold in Portsmouth.
I hope the reason is, not being of legal age and things change after January 10th. The lack of any kind of promotion is obvious and the consequences of this are no surprise.
When the EP was released Angelina commented that her team was working day and night to promote it. I don’t think her team necessarily includes Republic Records since she is basically independent. So what kind of promotion was actually done is a mystery.
She also said that Republic would be looking at streams, especially Spotify, to promote it. Have no idea how record company promotion works but that seems a little backwards. I just know that I never saw any announcement at all about the EP on the Republic website. Seems strange.

You're always so "aware" of all the nuances in her voice, and how they are intricately joined together to produce the "magic"...oh, and "goosebumps", too! 😂 I wonder how the "View's" are compiled, because her FIRST video from the EP, "Love Don't Let Me Go" showed up as #1, Spotify, but in Europe, there was a huge impact??? She just did her 1st Live concert in the USA back east, a smaller venue, but it was a sellout..one of those who attended put together a map, indicating where people traveled from to come see her, and it was amazing, Europe, And FARTHER "east", Australia, it was just amazing. Fantastic reaction been waiting for you to do this wonderful and amazing song, I think it is my favourite one of hers, but the rest of the EP truly is stunning. Most of my favourite music is soul from the late 60's and through the 70's ( Motownt and Philly ) but Angelina individual style is making me forget many classics of the past as with AJ she is making new classics! How she doesn't get more views is a mystery unless some of potential new fans believe she always in the past aimed for the more mature market with old jazz covers etc but surely that is now about to change?? I purchased a AJ T-Shirt for my 8 year old granddaughter hoping she will spread the world. ( I'm in the UK )

I attended her concert in Portsmouth N.H. Sept. 22. This was her 1st concert in the U.S. It was sold out. It was an older crowd ( I am 83 and an amateur classical pianist ) with people from all over the world and 43 states including Hawaii . Australia, Canada Several South American countries represented .. Many in the audience had music backgrounds and had followed her for years. It was an emotional experience for everyone. She was perfect of course but the band a bit too loud for the size of the theater. This was an historic event ...you would have loved it !
