      Personally, I would drop the qualifier "one of." She is not only the greatest singer I know of today, but the greatest singer I have ever heard, and I have listed to a lot in my 61 years.

    Angelina handled this live interview on television like a pro! She is very thoughtful and articulate in both Norwegian and English. It won’t be too long before she’ll be doing this on US and other television. Even though I don’t know her and haven’t met her except from 12 feet away on stage I have a parent’s like mixed feelings about Angelina’s blossoming into a bigger star. Great happiness and some sense of a passing of a time that won’t be seen again. The same clips used on this interview just popped up on Angelina’s Instagram while I was writing this comment. Angelina and her team are adept at continuously working the social media side of this music career promotion marathon.

    Thank you Kathrine. Wonderful to see Angelina in her home country again continuing to keep that connection to her home. Norway must be so proud as am I as I am 50% Norwegian living here in Minnesota. I was lucky enough to see Angelina in her 1st two shows here in the US. Portsmouth, New Hampshire last Sept. and February 29th on the same stage Elvis performed in Las Vegas. Best show I have ever seen and I will cherish those moments always. 😊♥👣

    So nice! Here she speaks very good Norwegian. She hardly mixes the languages at all!

    • @Halli50
      @Halli50 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      She has been immersed in an English-speaking environment for the last decade or so, and Norwegian has taken a back seat. What happens is that words and concepts no longer automatically pop up in the rusty language (Norwegian in this case), so she momentarily reverts to English rather that stopping or stuttering while recalling the proper Norwegian words.
      I have seen this happen to a number of friends that have moved permanently to other countries - there is a period of a decade or more where their native language (Icelandic in my case) starts to fall apart. At some point, however, they suddenly realize what is happening and make a conscious effort to regain their native language skills. As it happens, doing that appears to be rather easy once they realize what is happening...

    • @ragnarkisten
      @ragnarkisten หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@Halli50 Hm interesting, so you think now she is at the recovery stage?

    • @Halli50
      @Halli50 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@ragnarkisten Probably. These are just my observations and speculations, based on what I have experienced over decades with friends in similar situations. I have noticed that Angelina has tended to speak English in recent years when performing in Norway (a small sample, but still...).
      My guess is that she has not been THINKING in Norwegian for a number of years, and has recently realized it (meeting old friends and having found herself having to dig around in her Norwegian vocabulary?) and is now working on it. Calling it a "recovery stage" is spot on.
      Based on her family background, Angelia is definitely a polyglot. The shoeless story almost certainly happened in Iran, she likely knew some Farsi (with mormor to back her up).
      I suspect that Norwegian and English have long been equal with her when growing up, Norwegian being the school language, but English being dominant in what she excels at: Singing Jazz - not to mention the professional environment she has been living in for many years!
      Angelina is a special case, she is a prodigy in so many areas: I suspect that she will quickly regain her Norwegian vocabulary once she has realized she was neglecting it.

    • @pjg58x
      @pjg58x หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Angelina has gone back to Norway quite often. She had concerts there two years ago. I’ve seen interviews the past couple years in which she spoke Norwegian. Those may be the only times she speaks Norwegian now so she probably is a little rusty when she does speak it but she’s spoken it often enough that it probably isn’t a real issue.
      I understand that she spoke Farsi growing up but that is a language that she may have lost because she may not have had a lot of occasions to speak it in recent years.

    • @delmamekenya5286
      @delmamekenya5286 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Halli50 you are spot on with your analysis. I have 3 bilingual sons and my eldest is in a similar situation of Angelina. He had attended Italian primary school but at home the language spoken was English cause my wife insisted that way. He then switched to International English schools from age 9 and completed University in the UK. Now that he is working in Italy for an Italian company he had to go through a phase of recovery of the Italian vocabolary and grammar. Now after 2 years he can switch confidently between the 2 language but I suspect he is still thinking in English as it was predominant for the later stages of his education and enviroment.

    A Norwegian treasure with Persian roots from her equally prodigious grandmother, Mery Zamani, is
    a combination that people the world over are mesmerized by whenever she performs, whether it be

    • @branscombeR
      @branscombeR หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@donaldmarcus9655 I confess to a sadness that she lost her beautiful British English accent when she moved to the states! ... My daughter grew up in Estonia, with only a couple of years of basic school English, then moved to the UK. Thankfully, she had no trouble navigating her way through high school and on to university, but she gradually lost contact with her Estonian friends and found it frustrating when she went back to Tallinn ... like Angelina in this interview, she had to substitute English words when the Estonian equivalent would be just a fraction of a second late arriving in her brain. She was also hampered because her native language was that of a ten year-old and she was missing whole dictionaries full of adult vocabulary and the latest slang.

      The truth is that I’m a little disappointed that it will still supposedly be 3 more months before anything new is released. If Toby Gad hadn’t asked her to perform If I Were a Boy it would really be a drought. This was a project separate from her work with Republic Records
      I’m still curious as to whatever happened to her album that was supposed to be released last year

    • @ryanjacob3338

      @@pjg58x yeah aren't we all. But we remember she's in a crazy spot, maybe selecting her attempted "brand" at the "start of her pro career" is tough for her. Maybe the label has say in pushing this back so long. All I know is she's great and I hope she feels free to just try over and over again. A thousand shots if that's what it takes. But any way you slice it, she's 18, she's given me a whole new world, a rekindled wonder, a feeling of love, a stronger heart. Her family and her try to keep us happy with loads of mini covers, Angie content and family content🥰. However this goes is fine by me. There is no deal breaker. If we kindly suggest she try harder to give dates, plans, and stick to them, or at least talk about it when it changes, especially once it's more in her control, yeah I'd be ok with that. Kindly though. 😐❤

      @@pjg58x last year she released her EP and when she hinted new music on IG it was then revealed that it was her Christmas EP that dropped later than expected on 8th December. During the Le Bal an article from Le Figaro hinted a new album in 2024 (a bit generic). During the interviews in 2022 (Kongsberg and the Asian Gala) she spoke that her album was ready and the EP was later released in July (opposed to June as announced by Michael). I think hopefully that in September we might get an album or at least another mini-EP of new music with different songwriters collaborating

    • @branscombeR
      @branscombeR หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      IMHO her full album launch is financially make or break for her record label, which has already invested four years of retainer fees in the belief that they will at least cover their costs, long term. Marketing alone is a whole separate budget and if there is the slightest doubt about the mix of tracks already laid down, the collaborators, her public image, music videos and, most important, AJ's ability to sell herself in the media market (especially interviews / chat shows), then it would not surprise me if there is hesitation about choosing the best possible release date. Personally, I'm confused about whether she's being marketed right now as a glittering diva or a girl next door with a drop dead gorgeous voice, a master of jazz or a pop songstress. Now that she's legally an adult, I feel sure she will be makling her own choices soon. I have the greatest trust in the integrity of the child I first encountered, whose intelligence and innate musical ability confounded common sense.

      @@branscombeR Yeah I don't know about her label. I couldn't care less if republic has her, or what she does. If she is saddened by something like happening, that would be my only concern. A whole world out there and loads of opportunity for her to work with people, learn with people. Personally I hope either way we see her switching it up. Between learning and working with others, and taking cracks at everything herself. Even producing at some point. A goal of a solo album even, where she does it all. 100% written and produced by her. We have decades, and she's amazing, so her love and will power for it is all we need I think.
      Things like her success and industry marketing from big money ought to take care of itself. I assume she's a wise investment, not sure how much that matters these days, these thing are mostly standardized I heard. We angels, and her might need to get her to a certain point to get more help there. I don't need her to take over the world to find myself here all the time and think of her as the best. So I'm not sure why we fret about that stuff. Republic is potentially amazing for her though, in people, networking, learning. But you're worrying I think, Angie hasn't exactly been worrying. Crazy confident approach as always, no pandering, no begging, no rush, no change really, she's just more beautiful now. I think if anything she's still waiting to feel more comfortable hitting the scene and marketing herself. She's 18 not 45, and remarkably good. I imagine she'd get a decade still and 8 albums to find way more success.

    Angelina's speaking voice is so, so different in compare to her singing voice. As she talks you would not guess that she is a top vocalist at all: just a normal and pleasant voice to listen to. And very nice that you can use subtitles in different languages. Thank you (or who ever has made this video) for that.

      I have always thought Angelina is a bit unusual among singers in also having a beautiful speaking voice.... her speaking voice itself can sound like music - and it is beautifully deployed in that Elvis cover that has the extended speaking part (for example)

    Absolutely amazing to see and listen to the interview, and I'm beyond impressed that she has kept THIS much Norwegian intact, and without even the tiniest bit of accent. Has to be due to her incredible musicality She did talk about a single that will release in September, and I assume that that has to be "Bad Valentine". So stay tuned for September, guys! CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!
    Takk skal du ha, Kathrine, for at du gjorde dette

    Thanks! But you might want to write "Angelina Jordan" in the description, title, or tags, as this does not show up in a search for her, but only two clips without subtitles/translations.

    The stars and planets aligned when Angelina Jordan was born.
    The journey of an artist can indeed be profoundly affected by their socioeconomic background. Angelina Jordan's financial stability has arguably given her the freedom to explore and express her creativity without the immediate pressure of financial survival. The most profound individual in AJ’s life, according to her, is her grandmother, Mery Zamani, artist/poet extraordinaire who’s knowledge, wealth and genius have tutored AJ, and cultivated her unbelievable talent. This is a luxury not afforded to all artists, and the music industry is replete with stories of immensely talented individuals who have faced immense pressure to succeed financially. This pressure can sometimes lead to a tragic struggle with substance abuse, as seen in the cases of Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse. Their legacies serve as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of the immense pressures of fame and success in the music industry. It's a complex tapestry where talent, personal circumstances, and external pressures interweave to shape an artist's career and personal life.

    I have followed Angelina since the very beginning and have been mesmerised by her talent, however, the type of songs and her genre choice given her Jazz background disappoints me some what.
    I love her to bots and have spent the last hour listening to her earlier years and yearning for them to return. Does anyone have the same feelings or thoughts or is it just me expecting too much of the same,
    She is flipping awesome and just want some old fashioned Jazz.
    Luv to all fans, and especially to you Angelina.

      She wants to sing for the whole world (this is her life's mission), so let's not limit her to our own musical tastes.

    Angelina, one of the most beautiful people, inside and out.. You might not know it, but your compassion for others and your beautiful hypnotic sining has stolen peoples harts. You and your extraordinary voice has helped many to destress and put on a happy face after a long day of work. Many loose themselves in your music which mesmerizes them, brining them to tears of joy and awe. You are truly deserving to be named one of the greatest singers of all time and that day will come. Congratulations on your continuing success. ☮♥

    We can all see that Angelinanow has at 18 years old a natural and rich deep voice, a voice that has depth and this voice is a joy in music for me.

    The interviewing lady… who is she? I am wondering if she was the one there at that NGT contest performance when Angelina won.
    Fun to hear the Norwegian from the two of them. I’d be interested one day to hear Angelina speak of how she has crossed hurdles in her journey and her perspective of being on stage etc etc.
