Chris , I love the way you fabricate. You're very fluid and visionary. Your projects are a reflection of your skills. Very few can do what you have done with the limited resources available. This project will be a good one.
You basically built a" I " beam/ " A " arm combo! Move the shocks further out on the " A " arms, then the shocks towers need a cross bar over the engine! Moving the engine forward to allow steering.
I think that chain drive is actually better because it has less drag than a drive shaft, it weighs less and allows you to build some nice suspensions in less space on a small vehicle. Don't mind what people say, just keep doing your stuff and having fun, at the end of the day they are watching you for this. 😉
It doesn't matter to me how your projects are driven, I enjoy watching you build awesome projects. You do great. And the outtakes are hilarious 🤣🤣. You're doing great 👍
Chris, I know the comments can be hard to ignore at times, but don't feel the need to justify yourself to anyone who has an issue. Build a whole damn rig out of chains, who cares. You do you!
Looks like the intro is the hardest part of this project. It should all be downhill from here. Looking forward to the progress of this "chain drive" machine!
Im stoked youre making this. I was just talking to my roommate (we fantasize about building shifter carts) he wants a 1000cc, but i want a 2 stroke, lightweight, full suspension shifter cart. A front engine design. Interesting. All I've seen by other builders, are sidewinders and 4 bangers across the back of the seat. (As far as Hi Perf. builds) We know you will make it work. Is 4 wheel too much? Ya, a lot more parts. Also too short and not necessary. Oh well, we can dream, right? 🤔🤗😆😉

So far any weak points are not too bad and you have walked away from them. You build safe stuff and all these are one offs anyway. No worries. I'll be here for it regardless.
This is a sweet build! Lots of pro-modified race cars have the engine and the driveline behind the center of the front axle for weight distribution. I would try to get the engine behind the center line as much as possible without being uncomfortable. After watching further i see the engine is back more. This is becoming a high interest to me! Maybe try rotating the expansion chamber 180° and see if itll work better that way.

@14:20 Just so you know, you definitely want the shroud on your band saw motor's cooling fan. I suppose if you are not running it continuously it will be OK. Keep an eye on the temp if you have to do a lot of cutting. 😁🤩
i made front hubs out of two of those lawn mower deck spindles then little stand offs for bicycle rotors and brakes. i lucked out, the 4 holes on the deck spindles were the same pattern as the wheels, you have to build them backwards looking on account of you need the material to attach the tie rod and link, which, by the way i was able to bolt on. was the least of my problems
When you are looking at that style of drills. you want to look for drills that have vents. where the air is drawn in right near the battery. and exits out towards the front of the drill. and that way it helps keep the battery cooler. and you don't cover up the vents with your hands. and more and more drill manufactures are building them this way. at the end of the video you showed everyone just how difficult it is to get all the production and editing right for these videos. especially when you're the only one handling all the aspects of making these videos. and that includes camera positioning, lighting, sound quality, not to mention directing yourself. and post production electronic production and editing. Should have did the shocks in the front & rear horizontal, that way you wouldn’t have to go up so high with the frame & it looks cool & different. You don’t need crazy suspension, you just want enough for when you’re ripping tracks like cars & cameras track on grass & terrain like that.
Speaking of wheight distribution, you'll have to mount the seat almost on top of the rear axle... With the engine in front, if the rear is lighter, you'll have oversteer like crazy... hehehe
I like the idea for the new project and can`t wait to see more on it but you are going to have to make the front of the frame wider and the A arms shorter/smaller or a different type of front arm all together to fit the engine up front im not telling you what to do but you would have more room for you feet and pedals and such if you did. see you in part two 😀
