Genius 👌🏼 that 108 brush is such a fantastic multitasking brush, I need another one ☝🏼 You can clearly tell that teaching & education is your passion because you do these things very well. You’re a natural beauty as well as a natural teacher 👏🏼
Just tried this! I was applying spray after concealer with my finger, as learned from Risa, but this tip of applying the spray first then the foundation/concealer last, definitely makes the application smoother. No creasing, no caking. Impressed! Today I used a more luminous spray which gave the undereye a nice luminous & moisturized look. Tomorrow will try with a more matte spray for comparison. Thank you for the tip!
@@aprilhaynes130 same smoothness, lack of cake and creasing. Only difference was a more matte effect. I likely will wear the luminous look in summer and evening with matte more during day or winter. Also, I wear glasses so that blurs the look of both somewhat in terms of finish.
Your passion for teaching really shows. I find most TH-cam channels don’t do a lot in the way of really teaching makeup application skills and tips now a days. Love that you still incorporate teaching into even an eye shadow palette review for example. ❤️
I really respect and appreciate the fact that you encourage the ‘less is more’ mentality for makeup. Especially for aging skin and a more natural look/finish. Thank you for sharing!
I've always done concealer first. What you're saying makes so much sense. The main reason I've been doing it that way was thinking if I did it on top you would notice it. Seeing what you're doing is genius. Tbh, what I've been doing really hasn't been working for me too well. No matter what concealer I've tried I still end up having dark circles show. This gives me hope!

I'm over 40 + with creases, and I had so many heavier concealers Dior, Milani, Mac, Makeup rev Conceal & Define, Born this way, It Cosmetics- all full coverage BUT they creased & just sitting in a bin. So I mixed a dot or so of heavy & a lighter weigh concealer like Covergirl clean or mabelline Light & fit (I'm a concealer junkie) And I get perfect undereyes & just a tap of powder like No7 or Elf HD to very lightly set, and I get to use up my concealers!! I've gotten many great tips on concealer application over the last few years. Before that, I just didn't wear it because it made things worse. I am in my mid 40s and saw a great tip I wanted to share. When you pat or apply anything under your eyes you should always go from the inner corner to the outer corner~~never the other way around. This light motion gently pushes any swelling or fluid build up out and away from your under eyes, thus decreasing any puffiness. It really makes a difference! Thank you so much for this video. I'm def going to try using a brush the way you have since I'm not always a huge fan of sponges. Edit: And I love the idea of using setting spray the way you have here so I'm going to try that as well! I recently (finally) learned how insanely important it is to blend blend blend so I'm really glad you've reinforced this as well 🌟

You are really good Lisa. I’m old (74) and trying to update my make up and your such a great teacher. I’m off to try your concealer tricks using the setting spray on the brush. Less is more for us oldies and you give great advice for all ages. Been following you for a while and learning such a lot from a very pretty lady. X
You can do all the same as she did, but before applying foundation use a tiiiny little bit of Maybelline matte lipstick in dark peachy color right on your dark circle area. This method will work on people from very light to dark medium skin tones.

You are such a natural teacher! Lately my concealer has been driving me crazy! Thank you so much for helping us to feel better about how we present ourselves out there in the world, especially as we age.
Perfect tutorial about a tricky issue for all of us. I'm going to try each step you showed us. Great idea to spray the brush to apply setting spray. Also, looking up and opening your mouth to set where product creases the most is so helpful. All of it just so good. Blending concealer & a little foundation...I never knew makeup artists had mixing mediums, but makes sense. Thank you so much! You are a teacher, my friend. Love the darker pink lips on you. (Glad your lash extensions are off. Don't be mad. ;-) I like your natural lashes. Did you have on mascara or falsies at the end? Looked so nice.) Thanks Lisa! Have a fabulous Sunday!!

@@barbarahansen5353 I am currently using QMS Intensive eye care cream. I received it in my Boxy Charm otherwise I wouldn't have it. It's 140.00 on their website. Please don't if you don't need to. It's best to leave the eye area alone because, as she said, the eye is the most dry and thin area on your face. You have to baby it and if you can, go without!
@@seppieeee Yes/No: Applying this way leaves a smoother look, less cake. But it doesn’t decrease the amount of product needed. So better application: yes, better concealing: no.
@@Sincerelymakay ....yes, some is genetic....I wanted to ask you if you take Vitamin K, or include Vitamin K rich foods into what you ea..The reason being, I had a friend who had the same issue you describe, and once I encouraged her to incorporate more Vitamin K, Collagen and Vitamin C into her food diet...it helped in such a way that the " purple " was diminishing. Vitamin K is somewhat essential to skin health with the undereye area.
My undereyes don't like setting sprays, possibly due to the alcohol content. I use actual eye primer. A thin coat before any corrector and/or concealer does the trick for me. In fact, most times the primer has cancelled most of the discolouration. Bonus, ☺❣☺❣

Very helpful, thank you! Would have loved to see eyes zoomed in to really see how well concealer applied.
Trying this hack today! Thanks for a super informative video! Excited to see your other tutorials! Well done sis! 🥰😍💋
I’m one of those rare people who doesn’t get much darkness under the eyes at all, so I typically don’t use concealer because of the heaviness. I think I will try this, because it looks amazing on you!!
Please don't if you don't need to. It's best to leave the eye area alone because, as she said, the eye is the most dry and thin area on your face. You have to baby it and if you can, go without!
U look soo young without makeup!!!! Beautiful! Ive looked at before and after...i think its the blush placement. LOVE the hack! Thanks so much!
Having real dark circles, I’ll give it a try. But I’m always skeptical of makeup tips given by ppl who don’t have circles at all. So will see...
Did it work?
@@seppieeee Yes/No: Applying this way leaves a smoother look, less cake. But it doesn’t decrease the amount of product needed. So better application: yes, better concealing: no.
Plus she does not have mature skin so a no go for me
Yeah she doesn’t have dark circles... Mine are literally purple... they look like I have two black eyes. Thanks genetics 😅😭
Was very helpful and thank you for sharing this most needed tip for mature skin with expression under eyes lines. I’ll definitely try it
If I had your skin I wouldn’t even wear makeup. You look amazing.
Love the video!!!!
What lipstick and blush are u wearing in the end? You always pick the best colors!!!!!
My undereyes don't like setting sprays, possibly due to the alcohol content. I use actual eye primer. A thin coat before any corrector and/or concealer does the trick for me. In fact, most times the primer has cancelled most of the discolouration. Bonus, ☺❣☺❣
Chrissy Moss what under eye primer do you recommend ?
@@turena8745 I use the No.7 one (sorry, there's nobody here to go upstairs for me) , not sure of the name and I can't get as my disability prevents me from getting upstairs 🥴. xxx
Chrissy Moss oh that’s ok, I know the brand, I will look for that under eye primer thank you 😊
@@turena8745 Brilliant!!Thank you!!
I do the same thing, eye primer gets applied all over the eye. Then, I dab concealer that’s one shade lighter than my foundation onto the darkest spots under my eye, and then mix with foundation to blend.
I absolutely love this hack! Thanks for sharing!!
You teach so much. Love that about you. Always so helpful. Wow. Edit. Ok. I’m 59 I have always used a dot of oil under eyes. Then concealer. It helps not to look dry. Also I use catrice mattifying powder to set. It works everyx I use Nars or Catrice con Lee. Even the L’Oréal. They all work great !! Never a crease. Not once !
Can you do a tutorial on this eye look? It is really beautiful.
Thank you for this great tip! Concealer is always an issue for me. Cannot wait to try this. You look beautiful! 💖
WOAH!! Your idea of a "little bit" and mine are polar opposites! 😂
Lol! Am I heavier handed or much lighter? So true... as a makeup artist I found everyones version of "natural" or "dramatic" was so different
Ive been doing my concealer this way with your foundation brush after I’ve already applied my foundation! There’s a little foundation left on the brush and it blends out the concealer so well!
You don’t have your lashes on and still look great - the lashes always distract me! You look so pretty! Thanks for the great tip.
I tried it. Often the simplest is the best. 😊
I tried it with my Pat M concealer with L’Oreal freshwear. Very happy. Thanks😀
I have hollows under my eyes, I guess from lack of collagen-so how do you apply concealer for that?
You truly offered me a totally new approach to using concealers. Your approach makes so much sense and the results are beautiful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Lisa, could you please do a few more makeup classes sort of videos 😊💕
Definitely!! What topics would you like to see?
Lisa J we would really like if you could teach us how to do makeup for intermediate and experience classes with the products that a makeup artist behind the scenes would use and how do they achieve the looks and the longevity. ❤️😊
I’d love to see eye makeup techniques for olive skin complexions and deep set eyes where a lot of lid is visible when eyes are open.
@@lisajmakeup could you do a concealer video with drugstore products (like ELF)? I'm furloughed at my job and can't afford much else, but I love your videos!! Thank you for all the teaching!! :)
I’d love to see 2 types of “GRWM” get ready with me from bare skin prep to full face finish tutorials. Tutorials for women with mature skin, who are new to using skincare and makeup, and are overwhelmed by all of the options.
-1- quick (30min or less) and easy polished natural light/minimal everyday makeup look. (think: working from home,or crazy busy mom)
-2- travel makeup tutorial to create a day look & an evening out look. Please include ••what products to pack for a week trip
••tutorial/how to pack space saving and portable as well as TSA compliant
••a full grwm tutorial (from skincare/prep to finished face) using travel products for a daytime look as well as a transition to night/going out look.
-3- skincare routine tutorials for both am & pm including tips, products you love, and what they do.
Thank you for your wonderful content and your authentic easy to watch teaching style. Your tutorials are so helpful for those of us with mature skin who have limited experience with makeup.
Fantastic tip with concealers and under eye products and their application and usage....most of all very well explained. Looking forward to more videos like this! Consider me a fan! 💫💫💋
I have those dots too, little raised bumps. Any idea what that is? Is it Millia? Thanks for the tips. That always bothers me when I conceal. A lot of time it just makes it look worse.
Mine are milia... I hate them!
@@lindamarocco4583 maybe her tips will help
GamingWithMus I Hope so!!!!
I have done this for the past two days and it's beautiful! I'm definitely keeping this as part of my routine. Thank you Lisa
Thanks so much for this and so nice to watch a tutorial that isn't done by a twenty year old and I can actually relate! Thanks. One of my foundation hacks is adding a tiny bit of moisturizer. I dislike foundation so much lol
These tips are fabulous! Can’t wait to try them tomorrow morning!!
Lisa, I loved your final look. Could you please tell me what eyeshadow you used as well as your lipstick? Thank you so much!❤️
Yes!! I would love to know the shadows and lip color... beautiful!
Have to try this. My foundation always looks so nice under my eye, then comes the struggles when adding concealer. I need more coverage so hope this works! Thanks for the share. My hack is to pray. ;)
Maybe you look nice with the foundation alone. I don't think it looks natural to put all that bright makeup under the eyes. No human being has that glaring light color under the eyes. Everyone has a little bit of Shadow and it's actually attractive.. I should show you some pictures that I found and it looks so much prettier to have a little bit natural shadow under the eyes.
@@KaraLey98 I agree w/ you. I never use a super light canceler. I try not to go too close under the eye. My skin will only soak up so much product. I thought of your comment while putting on makeup. Only did a touch of concealer on the inner corner. It looked much nicer. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@@themerz6982 , I do the same with the inner corner, also high on sides of bridge of nose, where my glasses will make marks😉😷! I need to get lighter weight frames or go back to contacts!! Only started using makeup again last November, after about 30 years of nothing but moisturizer, blush & mascara. Have learned a ton from these YTube videos. It would have taken me another 5 years to find out all these makeup tips & tricks if I had to go it without either my sister, or daughter since they do not live in this same city where I reside. Thanks for your input☺👍🏼Every little bit helps me.
Tried your technique this morning...wonderful results. Also LOVING my BK Beauty brushes. The Best!
Curel works just as good as Elemis & so much less expensive. 😉
Hey Lisa you look so beautiful and youthful you don’t even need foundation but I enjoy watching you apply it. Thank you for the amazing hacks. Xoxo
Happy Sunday Friends !
Happy Sunday! ❤️
Genius, Lisa 😉. I did the hydrating setting spray trick, but not mixing the two products to get the perfect blend. My trick is to apply my concealer & take some color corrector & blend it out. It gives a beautiful, smooth texture to the under eye area. "When in doubt, blend it out" absolutely love it😍. Thank you. I have to try this trick. Cheers 😀🌺
I'll try this but honestly you have zero wrinkles and no dark under eyes at all, not anywhere near like my tired eyes 😩
That is a great tip...will have to give it a try! Your eye make up and lipstick are beautiful! Not listed in what you have on list....please do a video on this complete look :) xo
But how do we learn to look like you tho? 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 BEAUTY
Please show effective concealer for woman 55_75...trust me, it's a different animal, so to speak...dry with creases yet desperately in need of concealing.
And her skin and bottom teeth🤩😄
@@queenofstitcheswarrior2668 I noticed that too! I had braces, but mine still never looked like hers. Beautiful teeth and beautiful glowing skin! I’m newer to her channel and I love listening to her and learning. I’m 32 so it’s refreshing to watch someone that has fine lines (even tho I really don’t see them on her) like I do and also that does not apply concealer in the large triangle that covers not only the under eye area, but a good portion of the upper cheekbone like a lot of younger TH-cam makeup artists do.
And she doesn’t bake it. I tried baking, but it always comes out so cakey on me and emphasizes my darkness and puffiness. Puffiness is putting it lightly...I have bags...no not little bags...I have luggage going on a 2mo European vacation 😂
@@suzanneyoung994 I have VERY dark circles and my undereye is VERY sunken in plus a good amount of deep lines. I've purchased at least 30 concealers trying to find one that will actually cover without making me look older and Lancome effecernes is great for both of those things. For a lighter coverage used over a color corrector the first aid beauty bendy avocado concealer is really beautiful and looks very skinlike.
Thank you for the information. I see so many videos where the concealer is put on first, this way makes more sense.
Ok but how do you have no eye circles or wrinkles?? 😭💕
I used this tip and it worked perfectly! Any tips for making concealer look more natural when wearing powder foundation?
The older I get (43) the less concealer I use. No matter what, it always creases. Tried every trick/hack. Most of the time I don’t even use it anymore. Makes me look older.
Same here
Me too. I'm 47 and prefer no concealer and with working in healthcare and weary mask and goggles I e drop the foundation!
Same here. I've tried them all. They all accentuates the fine lines under my eyes and the dryness. Doesnt matter how much I prep or what I use. Thankfully I dont have dark circles. I just go in with foundation. Still creases but oh well. Im 42 btw
I agree 💯. I'm 45 & the good thing is I have no darkness at all. But I just need something to freshen up my dry under eyes. So a lightweight Hydrating foundation does the job . No concealer work. They all dry out my under eyes & accentuate the wrinkles & make me look like crap 🤷
Thank you for the tip. So happy TH-camrs have stopped the heavy v concealer under the eyes.
You have lovely skin .. why on Earth you need make up ??
Fabulous!! BEST makeup tutorial I've seen. Thank you!!!!!!
What do you mean by “dryer”? I want NOTHING “dry” on my under eye area...Powder?? What?? I think it’s your age. You think you have them, but you ain’t seen lines and wrinkles yet, Kid. Whoa.
She used a dryer concealer to create challenging conditions to illustrate her solutions. As for the powder, yeah, pushing 60 ain’t gonna work for me haha
Omg I have the same issues below my eyes! Thank you so much for discussing that specific area issue!!
It's so ugly when people have white circles under the eyes... And think they're wonderful...
So artificial...
I'll try your tip! 😉
Great tips! Itʻs not just a B&W solution and requires us to think! What a concept.
You look beautifully natural and bright. Love your tips cheers😀
Thank you so much for your tips! So very helpful for us mature women🌸
Love your video very informative.Never used concealer before. Thank you so much.
