I saw them in Warsaw on July 2. Amazing. The last time I saw them was 2005 (also in Warsaw). So much has changed over those almost 20 years, but their music is just as good as it was.
Awesome, thanks for the upload! I was just talking to an old buddy about thievery. The last time I saw them was downtown San Diego in 2005. Seems like just yesterday. Good times.
Igual pude disfrutar mucho algunos momentos.
It's called The Foundation and was their fourth single. It is also on their first album Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. Both were released in 1996. I haven't listened to all this set yet so it might be part of a medley which they have been playing on this tour.
Saw them for the 3rd or 4th time in 20 yrs last night in Ogden. As always, most of the vocals seemed live but most of the other "music" was pre-recorded loops that the "musicians" were either miming to or playing a little over the top of. At one point there was this goofy, fake bongo / drum solo thing with a couple of guys acting like they were jamming... but the beats were definitely / clearly computerized loops they they were just miming over... because (a) the beats were to consistently perfect and (b) the guys hands weren't even in perfect time with the beats. So... if you're just wanting a fun, theatrical "show"... basically a live music video... then you'll enjoy Thievery Corp "live". But if you're expecting any sort of real musicianship or playing... you won't.
