Houseplant Shopping at Walmart, Lowe's, & Home Depot! Big Box Store Indoor Plant Haul!

- Today I decided to go houseplant shopping at 7 Big Box Stores in my home town. I am aways curious as to which Walmart, lowes, & Home Depot locations have the best indoor plant selection. Garden Centers in grocery stores & hardware stores like these are typically not the greatest, but I think I was able to find some great plants to add to my houseplant collection! What do you think?

I just bought a marble queen yesterday! I have a golden, a neon, and an njoy. I wanted one for awhile but always walked by it. It was the only one at the nursery and I finally broke down and got it. You know how plants speak to you. 😊 No regrets and it looks even better since I put it in a white pot.
Its so funny what plants we can keep alive and what we can't. All the plants you have trouble with keeping alive I thrive with and vice versa! I hope you have better luck with your Schefflera. I had the same one from an Etsy seller and she made it a couple days before she started dropping. I was so disappointed, but now I know that they just aren't my jam lol.
Harli- You are soooo right about the marble queen! About a year ago, I was gifted my very first cutting (ever) and it was a marble queen. Now, I have 130+ plants and very thankful to my plant friend for introducing me to my addiction! She is such a beautiful beginner plant that I'm now seriously thinking about picking up a new marble queen mother plant to introduce 10 more to "our world"!!! 💚😁🤘🌱
It's amazing how prices differ by location, at my lowes that same Monstera is $14.98!
It seriously is so crazy! I found a HUGE Cebu Blue Pothos at my Walmart for $14, and people pay several dollars for a simple cutting😯
A local nursery of mine are selling orchids for $50 and saw good condition similar size ones at Lowe's for $15
My state has been on lockdown for a month now and I have to say, the one thing I'm really excited for is plant shopping when this is all over. I usually kill all my plants but I have had an arrowhead plant since October that has been doing extremely well in my care. I have had to repot him once and there is new growth weekly. I hope to have many more in the future.

I love your videos!!! I recently got two Birds Nest Ferns at my Walmart. I was blown away!! They were in 3 inch pots for $3.97 which I thought was a steal! Never found them in my area before so was thrilled. Also bought some succulents to propagate for my Daughters new home! Keep filming!!!

I love my monsteras. I have two mother plants and have created four cuttings between the two of them so far. I’d love if you’d do a care video on Bird of Paradise! I have one and it’s grown a new leaf in my care but it still doesn’t look as healthy as it could.

Hi Harli! i love ur plant videos, i learn alot from them. This summer i decided to start my plant journey and i had new appreciation for indoor plants, so i'm still trying to learn as much as i can so i can give them the best care i could. I have a question though, after buying those plants and taking them home, do u put anything on them to get rid of potential pests etc? how do u prep them before joining them with the rest of ur plants?
Hi Harli, I really love my Lowe's, they are stepping up their plant game, lately when I go there I usually find something to buy. I recently picked up my Hoya Curtisii, and an African Mask on clearance for 9.00 in a cute pink pot regular price 24.98. I love their clearance. I went to Home Depot and was so disappointed, their plants needed water so bad and so many of them were dying. My visit to Walmart was great, I picked up a arrowhead plant that is called Holly, really pretty and different, and an african violet, their succulents have been pretty cute as well. I just like to check all over for plants and sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I don't. Great video Harli, and it's awesome to see Morgan( I know I spelled her name wrong, so sorry) I love when you go plant shopping and she does the camera work, love love love those videos. I have a mini schefflera, variegated, and a huge regular schefflera that was given to me and I love him. I don't have the room for a huge Monstera like you got, so I'm looking for a smaller one for now. Thanks again, love to you and your sister.
Great haul, I seem to be loving the "more common" plants more and more lately!!
Especially Schefflera, I got a variegated one last summer for 7€ and it has quadrupled in size in just a year, in fact I just repotted it yesterday!! I also got two baby Monstere (5€ each) last summer and one of them already has insanely big leaves (you can see it in some of my latest videos), they were growing even when it snowed, which was crazy!! Both the Schefflera and Monstera have acclimated perfectly in our mediterranean weather, so I keep them outdoors, but I'd love getting more for indoors, although I know they will suffer a bit. I also need more Pothos plants, I could fill my house with them!! 😍
I've bought so many plants these last few days, because I'm working on a huuuuge veranda makeover, you can probably see some (illustrated) sneak peeks on IG and hopefully I'll also have some footage. Can hardly wait finishing it!!

My latest plants were from the Planthall! Lemon-lime Maranta and Ctenanthe lubersiana. Both came in looking spectacular! I have been looking for the Maranta for a while. The other was just a bonus!

I recently bought a calathea ornata, a HUGE satin pothos and a small fiddle leaf fig, from an online plant shop! I also bid and won on a purple heart plant - she's gorgeous.
I've been buying plant cuttings online from individuals almost everyday.. Oops. I bought a sanseveria Jade birdnest pup; 6 string of pearls cuttings; random succulent cuttings; tradescantia tricolor and hoya linearis wax cuttings; 40 Kalanchoe tubiflora plantlets, and philodendron brasil cuttings!
....a little obsessed :)

Went plant shopping at Lowes yesterday, big clearance sale! Alocasia Lauterbachiana and Zebrina $1 each, Hilo Bay elephant ear $1.20, Bonnie spider plant $5, Neon pothos and Hoya rubra both full price $11. And a couple Tillandsia. I'm still excited! 😃 They had the big monsteras too but no room for another one lol. $23 is a very reasonable price for that size.

I recently purchased The Variegated Iron Plant online at an Etsy Shop called MyCrazyPlantLife. I think I first became aware of this plant from one of Your Videos. ITS Something about the white and deep green plants that have ME feeling I NEED THEM!!!

90% of the videos here are "shopping for plants at ...." and they just show us the plants at the store and get nothing, even though they like so many plants there. If you're not planning on buying anything then don't clickbait the title. There's something so satisfying to actually see you get excited about seeing plants you want, get them and bring them home. Thought I would share that. 💚

Big box plant shopping really always is a Gamble. I was at Homedepot yesterday and they had many different plants. I feel like I need to become friends with the plant section people so they can just call me when they get a new shipment of plants. Also, you might have just bought a pothos Jessenia, which resembles a marble queen but it has more green than white, look up pics!
I love shop with me plant videos! I recently purchased a plant from Steve’s Leaves! It's a Kalanchoe Uniflora! I've been SO obsessed with it since I saw one on pintrest. It's a beautiful hanging succulent plant with beautiful blooms! I can't wait for it to arrive!
I purchased two different kind of angel wings sorry two of them one of them was the green with white spots and the other the leaves are green and burgundy or brown. I forgot the name of them both. I also purchase Peperomia - Hope & a Peperomia Glabella. I'm out of town visiting and went to a plant shop/nursery because I was looking for the Monsters Adamsonii plant and of course they didn't have it (depressing) so I had to purchase the others I was wanting. Thanks for your video 👍 I also went to Home Depot and purchased an aloe plant for $2. I was able to divide it and get three plants out of the one. Thanks again keep them coming 👍👍
I recently splurged on an order from the people's plants. I got an alocasia tiny dancers, alocasia frydek, and a satin pothos since I can never find them in my local nurseries. I've had good luck with alocasia so far so I'm super excited for those to come!
I found a hoya compacta at a Lowes. Just a cutting so I am trying to get it to survive in dirt. It is healthier than when i got it, fingers crossed. I went back a month and a half later and they had a hoya wayetii! I feel like i saved this poor plant because I can tell its over watered (should I repot it into teracotta?????)and I had to clean out so many dead leaves. These videos always remind me to GO LOOK at the box stores. Thanks Harli!
I found some small pot silver pathos, so I have them sometime and put them together in a bigger pot to make it look fuller.
I have the purple one you found at Lows, and i love it. It's so easy to propegate and grows SO fast and it loves its spot a little in the darker side in the room. I started with just a litle sapling with minimal roots because it fell of my sisters plant (not a plant person, but she hase a few plants to brighten up her dark dorm room), and just by having it in water a few days it got some litle roots and it just exploded when i put it in moiste soil. Realy recomand that one if you fint it again! I live in Norway where we dont have mutch humidity, so they are realy easy to care for in my experiance.
I LOVE that you take as long as I do to choose a plant!!! I recently purchased a Red Siam Agleonema in a 12" nursery pot for $7.95 at WalMart and a Calathea Triostar in a 12" nursery pot that is positively beautiful (and huge) for $35 - it was a birthday splurge.
The two of you remind me of my friend and I when we went plant shopping a couple weeks ago. I was totally lost in all the beauty of the plants and she was this calm companian guiding me through :) I also love those videos with your sister because you two do so well together when buying plants! Hi! I agree with the Home Depot nonsense. I'm in San Diego and they never have anything either. My go-to is Lowes! My latest purchase from Lowes was a Zebrina wandering jew, variagated green maranta and a string of bananas. None of them were on my wishlist but they were cheap so why not! Love your videos and say hello to your sister!
Any more experienced plant collectors know if I should cut off smaller growth on my monstera? And if that will encourage larger leaves? Love the video Harley!! My monstera i got a while back was much smaller and $20!

This weekend I picked up a Hoya Hindu rope and a variegated lip stick plant at Lowe’s. My Home Depot sucks. I have to drive 20 minutes to get to the Home Depot with better plant selection. 💓 the video!!

Since last talking on insta when I sent you a video of my collection I’ve picked up quite a few new plant babies (there was two videos but one didn’t send till after you responded 😭😭) I got a decent sized hanging basket of dog tail cactus, a regular green elephants ear, two more Caladiums, pepperomia obstusafolia, lemon lime philodendron, and a pink Chinese evergreen!❤️❤️ and today I’m going to a few more greenhouses so we’ll seeeeeeeeeeee😍 also not sure how I like the Schefflera full grown. I have a baby variegated one and I think I’ll keep it cut back or give it away once it gets bigger

Ahhhh!!!! That Shefflera!! So so pretty! I normally hate HD as well, they’re sombasic! To pay 17$ for a Golden Pothos, uh no thanks! I did score a 10 inch FLF for 18$ there today! I thought if you while I was pulling every single one out and throughly looking them over to see which one would have the best chance at not dying a tragic death!

I just got a ton of clearance plants at Lowe’s for $1 each. One of them had a spider mite infestation and I didn’t know! Thank god it didn’t spread to any other plants! But I got some little baby cacti, a ton of different crotons, which I’m still figuring out what’s actually what and a few other non identified yet. Big box stores are awful at labeling plants. I went to my local nursery and bought a pink arrowhead and a Brazil pothos too. Loving the videos! Been binging lately.

I just got a Hoya Carnosa Rubra for $11 (6 inch) and a Peperomia Obtosifolia Varigata for $4(2-3 inch) at Lowe’s this week. I LOVE Lowe’s plants and prices
I am a sucker for any kind Pothos, Philodendron, Sansevieria, and Hoya. They seem to be the easiest for me to keep alive. The Monsteras are $12.99 around here in South Florida. I have seen them as low as $8. But not with that Big Leaf. I got a shefflera last year. I tried keeping it in doors. It was not happy. I almost killed it. It dropped a lot of leaves. I ended up putting it outside by my mail box. Now it is huge. So make sure yours gets a lot of bright light. The latest plant I bought was a Peacock Fern. It has an opalescent hue over peacock feather colors. It is absolutely beautiful. And it was only 5.99. So of course I had to buy 2. Ha Ha

Great video. I was recently given the top of a really tall Yukka. It is massive! And also the top of a really tall rubber plant,which is so beautiful. Love how every plant is growing like crazy right now.

I have been looking for an affordable monstera for the longest time. You inspired me to go check the box stores and sure enough I found one for $25 that I am so in love with!
Ooh Lowe's had a schefflera I have one and they're really great! Low maintenance, all they need is bright, indirect sun, but mine also likes a lot of sun. The only real way to kill it is to over water it.

Hi! I actually went to Home Depot and myself today. I didnt get anything at Home Depot today bexause i didnt see anything i really wanted. I did get an Anthrium that you also seen at Lowes. It was on clearance for $0.25! I didnt already have one and if it dies the decorative pot was well worth the money i spent! 😊💜 i think you got a steal on your plants at Walmart and Lowes as well!

Went to my Lowe’s 2 days ago and got some pothos, a hanging succulent, and a really nice peperomiodes in a pot for $12.50 on clearance. Wish they had monstera as that’s what’s top on my list right now. You picked a gorgeous one!

I got a marble queen this month as well! I bought a philadendron hastatum yesterday and a philadendron red ruby on Sunday. I absolutely LOVE them 🤩🌱
