    Thank you. This is exactly what I needed to see before tackling my bedroom remodel myself.

    It's so weird in Australia - the skirting board was originally intended to cover the flooring edge, but tradies here just put the skirting down first then tile, or plank up to the skirting, meaning they have to perfectly cut the flooring material around the edges and bottom of doorframes. With carpet this is absolutely fine but with tile, wood or LVP it results in an inferior finish and allows no room for expansion or contraction of flooring. Actually, most trades appear slapdash and poorly trained in Australia, although there is this one tiler in my city who is amazing so there must be exceptions. Hopefully these guys are installing carpet!

      This is a filming studio not an actual home (you can tell by sourrounding and also adjacent wall having a different set of panels), so the floors will never be installed. Skirting is always installed after floor installation in Australia. Idk what monsters wouldnt. In this instance they are only showing how to install the panels in this setting. My opinion is, if you hire cheap tradies then you'll recieve poor workmanship. This isnt exclusive to Australia.

      you did see that there's no skirting on didn't you?

    • @stephencamp8407
      @stephencamp8407 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you - But the reason most homes in Australia when built have the skirting installed prior to flooring is due to time frames and cost - multiple returns to a house can cost a company alot. There is expansion and retraction gaps for the flooring as this is normally quads that cover these expansion gaps

    What's the recommendation for installing these around a door or window? Do you need to leave a 5-10mm gap between the panels and all the architraves? That would require some very precise panel cutting and fitment as well as the area around the architrave being 'finished' as you would have visible, eye level gaps between the panels and architraves?

    Can I put this panels on the attic wall studs there is no sheet rock or any support) which is not temperature controlled ? Do You think the panels will warp in time because of heat and cold ? Made a mistake of buying it without thinking now I have to figure out a way. Please help.

    Should I get a pro to do it if I need to install vj panels around windows, frames and built-in wardrobes? I was gonna do it myself but it seems like I'd be struggling. I wanna vj my entire house!

    Are you punching nails into solid timber frame studs?

  • @waynej9438
    @waynej9438 ปีที่แล้ว

    So how do you affix the cladding around door frames? Do you just but them up to the trim?

    • @easycraft4851
      @easycraft4851 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Wayne, we recommend leaving a 5mm gap to allow for expansion and contraction when installing around the door architrave. Hope this helps.

      Hello, thank you for your enquiry. You can install on top of skirting boards, without removing them. Please see Page 9 of our installation guide here: www.easycraft.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Easycraft-Installation-Guide.pdf. and another video to show you how its done here: th-cam.com/video/AEDZMcf1eN0/w-d-xo.html . Hope this helps

    Not sure if still replying to this vid. But would i be able to wall mount a TV through the paneling if i mount on the studs?

    • @easycraft.panels
      @easycraft.panels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jimmy, thanks for your question. The answer is yes, as long as the TV bracket is screwed into the studs and not just the wall panelling. Hope this helps :)

    How do I cut around power points?

    • @benjaminisbester3582
      @benjaminisbester3582 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Measure the locations of the centre of any PowerPoint's before putting the panel on and then cut a rectangle just big enough so you can pull the power point through without disconnecting the wires. Alternatively, you can turn power off, dc wires and cut a hole big enough to slip them through as you put the sheet on. Can be a two person job

    Expansion? MDF is stable isn’t it?

  • @sticknstonesbrkbones
    @sticknstonesbrkbones 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    hmm... why didn't you pull the trim work off and run the paneling under it?

    • @MrBraden17
      @MrBraden17 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cost Saving. You can't remove and re-use cornice. You'd have to get a new piece reinstalled and re painted, easily $200 - $400

    If you was doing around a door frame would you take the door casing off and then put it back on after?

    • @julie1089
      @julie1089 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason you wouldn't take the coving off is because if you fix the mdf to the frame the coving will need to be rebated to accommodate the mdf or it will sit proud the same thickness as the sheeting. It's different however if it's going straight onto the studs because there should be an alloance around the frame the depth of the wall lining! See the construction details and you will get a better idea. 😀

      Hi Blake, we would recommend removing the wallpaper first as the product needs to glue to the wall. Please see page our installation guide for more information: www.easycraft.com.au/help-centre/

    How would you go about installing this product on a wall with an existing reverse cycle air conditioner on it?

    • @easycraft.panels
      @easycraft.panels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shane, it is advised to leave a bit of space between the panels and the unit to allow for any future maintenance, and to allow for expansion and contraction of the panels. You can then go around it with L-shaped pieces of timber to give the installation a nice finished edge. In some cases during install the air conditioning unit may need to come off completely. Hope this helps.
