      all his video about this so call "Submariner". the "1000ft = 300m" marking are always block by the watch hand. do you know why? because he deliberately block it. and why is that? you ask? anyone know about the sub knows the Chinese fake have issue with that fonts. so it's a dead give away if anyone see it. he did a pretty good job hiding it so far. but not good enough. check out his video "The Truth about Rolex Perceptions" at 0:36 and see for yourself. do u think you can spot it? have fun lol

    I bought my Rolex Submariner in 1975 for £176 from watches of Switzerland in Southport England ,I have worn it every day ,it has been all around the world with me I still dive with it,had it valued recently still with its original box and paperwork £8500.So you’ve worn yours for six mouths you have a long way to go.

      I'm not royalty however, the watch obviously doesn't provide the polish on this guy. I stopped listening to him when he said: "I've gotten this watch in March..." Really? Sweet mother of pearls. He is proof, intelligence is not requisite to own a superlative timepiece.

    A couple things I have noticed about myself:
    1) I do not have a Rolex, however, I do have several watches that I love.............in my budget range. I also have a few 'beater' watches that I wear if performing physical labor, working out, etc. Ironically, I can breathe on my nicer watches the wrong way, and notice hairline scratches, nicks, and whatnot. Conversely, my 'beater' watches barely have a scratch on them. It's almost like a lot of luxury products are purposely made to show cosmetic wear/damage, whereas, certain cheaper products will last forever and/or maintain their appearance.
    2) I love nice things, but at the same time, it is so freeing to own things that you don't obsess over and don't worry about scratches, dings, etc. and it doesn't matter whether it's fine watches, automobiles, cameras, phones, or whatever. We buy these things to use them, but at the same time, I overstand wanting to keep them in pristine condition......................especially, if you're a "working" person, who can't just go out and buy another one, if you damage it, at the "drop of a hat".
    Driving an expensive car is very pleasurable, and I have had a couple in my life. At the same time, my favorite was a 15 year-old Jeep. Part of the pleasure was being able to take it anywhere and not obsessing about dings, scratches, or other cosmetic damage.

  • @CrimFerret

    Good for you. It's nice to see somebody getting a high end watch and then actually wearing and enjoying it rather than putting it in storage for only special occasions. The submariner is a good choice for that. It looks good with most levels of dress, and is tough so you don't have to worry about bumping it. You don't have to be a watch collector to enjoy a high end watch any more than you have to be a car collector to enjoy owning a high end automobile. I'd venture to say that the vast number of people who buy a Rolex probably aren't collectors per se.

  • @Archer335
    @Archer335 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That’s right: once you find THE watch, buying another one seems gratuitous.
    I wear my Seiko SARB035 every day, and I may never buy another watch.
    As for cleaning: I use a soft, pre-moistened baby wipe and get every nook and cranny possible.
    It gets the job done nicely.

    Very nice. The newer Subs with the maxi case and updated oyster bracelet and clasp look great. You can see Rolex made improvements to it. I bought my first Rolex, a Submariner 18 years ago and I still love it. Have had it serviced 3 times now over the life of the watch and each time I get it back, it's like brand new. And this time, I won't have to go for another 10yrs. Don't even think of selling yours. There is a long wait list to get them at an AD. Enjoy the pleasure of Rolex ownership.

  • @Pulsonar
    @Pulsonar 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    A nice owners review, the Rolex quality is undeniable. It’s interesting how the market for any high end product impacts people’s behaviour and psychology around their possessions. A Seiko SKX owner might review after 6 years of sterling service and still wonder if they spent $400 wisely. A Rolex owner in many cases rejoices after 6 months that they haven’t been mugged in the wrong end of town, are happy that the 904L steel still carries the look of success, and the 3135 movement is still within COSC+ thresholds. This vid feels like the difference between a boring but sensible watch owner and a passionate but ‘can barely afford it’ high end Swiss watch owner torn between the reality of owning a much lusted after dream timepiece, but still nervous about how best to maintain it’s monetary value at minimum cost over time of ownership.

    First 3 sub owners I've personally known where one watch guys that did a shit ton of manual labor surrounded by all sorts of steel, water and chemical agents. Their watches were scratched to absolute hell (all pre ceramic) but man that look beats a pristine sub any day in my opinion. The watch is designed to take it.

  • @ramonmalaya8451

    6 months for a Rolex is considered brand new. That watch is suppose to outlast you!. Enjoy the scratches! I purchased my Submariner in 1998 and have been wearing it everyday. I met my future wife wearing it, it was on my wrist on our wedding and the birth of my children. The moves. It has chronicled all the important events of my life. A some point it becomes less a Rolex and more your watch. You will care less of how it looks and care more for what it means. Enjoy the scratches!

    • @andyreiter6253
      @andyreiter6253 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lala Loepsie Speedmaster LOL ? The watch school boys wear ? Well then you can say any seiko can be only watch ! What criteria do you have to judge your statement ? Any watch even a Casio for 20 dollars can be it ... there is no way a grown up person would wanna wear a shitter from a swatch group that either has an eta MOVement or an in-house movement but still made by eta for the omega ... u can’t be serious ...

    • @luccardi.
      @luccardi. 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just so you know, Omega was chosen by NASA for their moon project because the speedmaster was the only watch that passed all tests. You can say it's for schoolboys, but that says more about you than about the people who were speedmasters. A watch says something about you as a person, but you are probably not capable of understanding that.

    • @luccardi.
      @luccardi. 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @andyreiter6253
      @andyreiter6253 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      who said I wanna belittle somebody ... being in school is nothing bad... they are just young individuals they don't need no patek 5180/1R or ultra thin Lange ... so what that nasa chose this shit watch ? Russians also had some ugly ass watches ...and Russia managed to beat the nasa ... so should we all run and buy some shit ugly ass 200 euro watches ? today every watch will past that test ... here in Europe many low paid managers that can do nothing in this world buy this ugly ass watch ...called moonwatch lol ... so pretensious just like that watch ... I am not capable as understand it cuz I know many ugly ass people who are oligarchs... from royal European families and even kings families all over the world .. and guess what all are ugly inside and out ... yet they were watches that u can't even pronounce cuz u don't speak French ... so people don't judge me before u know me ... I am just talking about watches ...and veyrthing Ive said is true ... omega is not high class ... its like I wanna buy an expensive watch but don't have enough cash for Rolex... cuz anybody who cares about watches would go and buy a glasshuete original or nomos for that same money (gray market for GO) .. and now u know more adults .... who write as they like cuz they don't give a fuck ... I don't need to go to 9 am work tomorrow to be writing how my boss allows me ....

      I haven’t even began a watch collection yet, I have a few pieces (3)
      I am in my early days of horology, and the Steinhart seems like a good entry point into my first purchase. (The other 3 have all been gifts).
      Either the Steinhart, or a Seiko SKX009
      I will own a Rolex one day, or an Audemars 😅❤️

      It can be very bad for the movement and potentially snap the crown stem off. This is less of an issue with divers watches where the crown screws down solid on the watch case. It's still best practice to never do it

    You shouldn't lay a watch crown face down, any watch for that matter.

    • @mikeybirdttl
      @mikeybirdttl 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      3LIT3PS3ER your wrong there chap. If your movement is gaining a few seconds then you should lay it vertically with the crown down. To lose more seconds you lay it with the crown uppermost.

      +Jonathan Malm Well here in Sweden there are waiting lists (or at least the few AD:s we have here) between 12-18 month's for a 116610LN, maybe a few month's shorter for a 114060.

      that sounds like very unlikely. I pass by at least 50 ADs every year and this year since April it has been impossible to buy any steel sportsmodel at retail on a walk-in.

      You should rest the watch on the crown, that way you won't scratch the opposite side of the case. If the crown is screwed down tight how the hell will it get damaged. We are talking about one of the world's toughest watches.
