Her body language, crossed arms tightly, she does it only around Ben, no one else. I always thought the tighter she crossed her arms, the more she was protecting herself and the growing attraction she began to feel for him. She was herself, true self, around him. Alan would find that offensive, her being her true self. Such a great romantic film classic. The 1965 tv version was great too. Nancy Malone, Roy Thinnes, they had great chemistry too. Not so much the 1985 version, just saying.
I agree that the final reconciliation between Orson Welles and Tony Franciosa (right after Franciosa tried to kill him!) was unbelievable, but all of the rest was quite credible to me. Whatever else they were, the Welles and Newman characters weren't stupid; and two men would both have to be as dumb as dirt to let two women as splendid as Angela Lansbury and Joanne Woodward slip through their respective fingers. (Given that this was the year that Newman and Woodward married in real life, it's delightful to watch them flirting in this scene. It's one of those times when a film scene gives you a peep behind the scenes -- just like the conclusion of "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?", where Spencer Tracy looks directly at Katharine Hepburn and talks about the many years that they've loved each other, while Hepburn's eyes fill with tears. She knew that, in reality, Tracy had only a short time to live.)
Them blue eyes though xx what an amazing actor he was
I love the fact that he never blinks and his eyes are so blue🌊
"Let's go find us a needle in a haystack" perfect

I completely agree with you. Very accurately noted.
What a couple of actors!!. I love them in this movie and in From the terrace 💯.
CELEBRITY CRUSH RIGHT NOW
Joanne Woodward kinda looks like Kirsten Dunst
The other way around.
I just found out that they were married, and made several movies together.
I bet their kids love this!
They might love this but I was reading that his daughters don't love what the company has done to Paul Newman's food products
This movie is…. Severely underrated
Ellos eran la naranja completa, se complementaban, hasta se parecían
Ok so his eyes are hot ice
Matthew McConaughey could play a good part is Paul Newman
Paul was much hotter gorgeous and talented than mathew
Ah, that's a "no" from me.
not anymore. those days are long gone.
Hell nah. Paul Newman was a class act.
You must be joking 😂🤣
Paul was miles better looking than him 💁♀️
These were great players.❤
They had a complex story together.
А почему сам фильм нельзя посмотреть целиком??? А лишь фрагменты одни, очень жаль.
Paul newman was good in Harper 😍😍😍😍
Un blisdimo film lo vorrei vedere in italia no
Is Joanne gets an Oscar for this ?
For, she won the Oscar for “The Three Faces of Eve, in 1958.
Perché ,nndarlo in italiano?
Doc Hudson
Good acting, but a contrived, unbelievable ending, not true to the characters.
Well, what do you expect in the mid '50's? Still a fabulous movie. What do you expect attempting to jam all that Faulkner into a hit movie.
A firey, unpredictable relationship, with a unpredictable ending. Perfectly believable, just like real life.
go away ok
Dork go watch a french movie with subtitles lol

This movie wasn't handled properly it lacked the impact and performances of cat on a hot tin roof which was released the same year I think
I like this movie much better.
totally agree. I love Paul Newman but he kind of blows in this. Joanne is great. I think the script is pretty stiff so it could be that...
all they did was bicker in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
It wasn't written by Tennessee Williams.
🥰🥰🕶
