Just so in case you don’t know. This was a Latin American competition that took place for many years. That year was Jose Jose’s breakthrough. And even when his song was the favorite and (really) the best of that years competition, it didn’t win. But revenge is the sweetest thing. He became the biggest star after this. The judges are from different Latin-American countries. By doing this, Mexico would be in disadvantage because they would vote in blocks from South America for their own favorites and Central America would do the same. Again. Revenge is best. Every time I hear this song, I am reminded of my childhood Sundays when my family gathered to eat at my grandparents house, and how my abuelo Jose would turn on a stereo twice older than me and play this man’s songs. Every time I hear this song, I am reminded of my childhood Sundays when my family gathered to eat at my grandparents house, and how my abuelo Jose would turn on a stereo twice older than me and play this man’s songs. Good times.
If you are looking for other great Mexican musicians, you can’t go wrong with Juan Gabriel and Luis Miguel. But for a specific song, I recommend ‘La Bikina’.

I'm hyped you guys are crossing over the border musically! Really glad you guys vibed with it. From what I've read, but please, anyone that knows correct me if I'm wrong, this was a competition of sorts and if you can believe jose jose did not win. I think there's few mexicans, if any, who will not put this man at the top of the list of greats.
