Hello !! When José sang this song at that 1970 festival, he was 22 years old and already showed great attributes for singing, he had been singing since he was 15, but this song was the one that launched him into fame. The song was composed by Roberto Cantoral to his mother when flying to her funeral, it is a love song from a son to his mother. José had an incredible control of the air, that's why he held the notes for a long time, in addition to spinning 4 phrases or more without taking a breath.- the management of his head voice, chest, his melismas, his flips...¡A singing beast!
that artist breathes???......that artist has dynamics / voices / tuning / power / timbre...all exceptional among other things.....very interesting artist / execution
Jose Jose had a privileged, unbeatable and incredible voice. In Mexico we call him "El Principe de la Canción" (the prince of the song). It had a sad ending, but that's another story. . .
José José, is considered the best Mexican singer by far, in this video he was only 21 years old, he had a lot of qualities but his breathing technique is the biggest of all. He sadly lost his voice to the point where he couldn’t even speak, this was caused because of severe lung issues he didn’t address mostly because he lead a life of alcoholism and drug addictions that destroyed him. He pasted away in 2019, but is so loved in Mexico and Latinamerica. He was called the “princess of songs” and also was always mentioned as the “Sad one” because of this song you just reacted to an all the melancholic music he sung. Thank you for bringing him back from my memories, best wishes from Mexico.

The man with the open mouth is Marco Antonio Muniz, he is a very famous singer in Mexico and his nickname from Spanish would be "the luxury of Mexico", he has a very strong and deep voice. José José (nickname: the prince of the songs) even has duet with Marco Antonio Muniz (Tiempo), if you have the chance to react to it I assure you will enjoy it.
