1983年にナムコより登場したコミカルアクションゲームの傑作「マッピー」。ニャームコ屋敷にある盗品を取り戻すため、ねずみの警官マッピーが活躍するという内容。2方向レバーでニャームコ屋敷を駆け回るが、基本的に直接攻撃することができないので、扉の開け閉めを使って気絶させたり、一発逆転のパワードアを使って敵をかわしていく。また、トランポリンで跳ねている間はやられることはない。ただし、トランポリンの連続使用には制限があるので注意が必要。

You are Mappy, the brave mouse policeman. Mappy's mission is to retrieve all of the stolen treasure from the Mewkies cat gang. They've stashed all of the loot in their leader's mansion which contains several floors, and numerous trampolines that the Mewkies like to use to travel between stories. Mappy must keep away from the cats and collect all items in the house before moving on to the next house. If Mappy is caught by a cat, he loses a life. Mappy also loses a life if he crashes to the floor by breaking through a trampoline or falling into a pitfall. When all of Mappy's lives are lost, the game is over.

I've seen this recording about a year and a half ago and had to watch it again. I'm STILL in awe after watching it a 2nd time. He's in a class all by himself. Never seen skill like this and I've been playing vg's since '78!!! He makes it look soooo easy.

Mine was 100,000 something and that was it. I was only in my preteens or my teenage years. In between one of those. But wow! That was INSANE! At tthose times the cats was getting to him, I thought he was going to die. Made my heart pound a little in a nervous way. But nice job, replay buyers! :)
This first time I actually started playing this game was on Christmas Day 2004.
@@jenniferkammerer6187 I was worried, that green Goro disk is the equivalent of "Evil Otto" from Bezerk--can't be stopped, but can KILL you. So him burning time to get all those max points had me scared--first instinct is "save your skin and advance" instead of "max top score".
There’s one way to freeze the Goro Disk, the falling pit. If the Disk falls it drops and stops for a short while.
I have this arcade game. Have had it since the early 80s. I reach 1 million plus all the time.

やったらわかるのですがこのゲーム、パターンをつかむのが非常に難しいのです。
それをこのプレイ、完全にニャームコたちを手玉にとってむしろ遊んでますよね。

27:37-27:43 I remember that the ending to the theme song of the game was always my favorite part and especially when the sound of the coin comes into the mansion. It really brings back memories of my childhood that are from 2008 & 2009 and now I can’t stop listening to it over and over. It makes me sad cause it was some good old times :,)

The coin is named Gorsenzo. If you take too long on a level, the coin will start chasing you around the mansion and it can even kill you while you’re bouncing on the trampoline. So be careful! On the NES version, the coin is colored blue instead of green due to palette limitations.
@@SuperDisneyXDProductions Yep. The palette limitations is the reason why the microwave power doors are colored brown in the NES version instead of multi-colored. Same with Mappy's feet. In the NES version, he has no shoes, but in the Arcade version, Mappy has shoes.

マッピーは完璧なゲームだと思う
The game of cat and mouse, where you play the police mouse, Mappy. You have to get back stuff the Mewkies and Nyamco, or Goro, have stolen. IMO one of Namco's greatest games of all time, and at almost 40 years old, it stands the test of time, even today.

@@eugene3197 Nyamco is the official spelling for Goro himself. Watch the games demo mode and you'll see the word Nyamco, it is a play on Nyan, and Namco.

三周目が難易度max なので、そこまででプレイを打ち切ったようですね。コンマ数秒単位で高得点を得ている様子が、同じく50面まで到達した事のある自分にも良くわかりました。
ただし、コンマ数秒だとミスしやすいために高得点を捨てて時間を残す自分のやり方とは、多少異なったプレイなのがわかります。
テクニックもいわゆる正統派のやり方であり、マッピーずらし、落とし穴の時限開け、ご先祖様を落とし穴へ落とす事による足止め時間稼ぎのような裏技テクニックは全く登場しません。あくまで正統派テクニックにこだわったような感じです。
模範的なプレイのテクニックは見事で、教科書的な素晴らしいものでした。

This really was such a cool concept for a game. It was like a cartoon from the 1960s; "The game of Cat and Mouse meets the game of Cops and Robbers!"
I played so much as a kid, never seen this person ever get that far, I wish I can go back in time.

この懐かしい音。
しかもこの上手さ。
高校受験（本命）の朝、目が早く覚めたので、一時間程このゲーム（FC版・実機）で時間潰しをやった思い出。
ミューキーズの誘導がうまい。トランポリンの着地が重ならないように、あらかじめトランポリン前で少し待つのはゲーム中になかなかできない。

マッピーについて思い出した話。
1990年代に故めぞん氏にお会いした時「ニャームコは怖くない。ミューキーの方が厄介で怖い。ミューキーのうち、一匹がしつこく追いかけてくるやろ❓あれ、ボスミューキーと俺は言っとる。トランポリンは右移動するとこいつに重なりやすいので注意❗️」と語っていました。

i gotta say, i COMPLETELY forgot this game existed until i got it again recently on a plug n play console. i had the biggest wave of nostalgia hit me after i finally played it again after maybe 10 or 11 years now. i'll always love this game.

The world record is 2million on Twin Galaxy

It’s a simple game where you have to collect all 12 different artifacts without getting caught by Goro or Meowkies.
I was able to score 275K dude! You are a Master! You manipulate the coin cat very well. I was very afraid of him and you treat him like another cat. I watched your video on a 6 hour flight and it was a very pleasurable flight thanks to you. You tripled my high score with your first guy.

This is back in the day when it's mainly about getting a high score rather than showing endings. But according to the storyline of Mappy canonically, Mappy did stop the crimes of Goro and the Meowkies, recovering all the stolen items, and put Goro and the Meowkies behind bars. So Mappy did achieved it.

@@laurababyyy1 Mappy is just that awesome :) He stopped their crimes without guns or any weapons. But Goro and the Meowkies did escape prison to try to revenge on Mappy in the sequels. According to the storyline of Hopping Mappy, they trapped Mappy in a green field of maze. And Mappy has to escape with a pogostick by collecting the key items.
