That 3rd game was ridiculous. Dark, what a chaotic player. So fun to watch
The only person who had any idea what was going on in game three was Dark.
That nidus game was amazing to watch. Always felt the nidus are the true zerg spirit. Amazing to see them destroy terrans like this.
I was never much good with Zerg but I have always loved the Nidus and Lurkers. They both just ooze flavor and you can do such neat things with them.

I love it when Dark breaks out the nydus worm attacks! Successful or not, the drama mixed with Winter's commentary feels like the Jaws movie suddenly, and everyone is running in panic!
The only thing missing was a few Ultralisks, and then it would have been a Jaws movie scene! Lol

Clem was definitely running, for sure. And seems that using F2 as well.
I feel like that last nydus strategy was a great example of the potential of such an underutilized tech. Not just using them for harassment or backdoor all-or-nothing surprise attacks, but using it to quickly reinforce and redeploy the army, while allowing for use of creep aggressively. The mind game of the early queen pressure is great too, and how it let him get ahead economically.
Dark is so good, they even named a Shrine after him!

Watching Serral vs Cure was watching Serral try to force a round peg through a square hole, but still make it work because he's Serral.
Watching Clem vs Dark was watching Dark carefully carve out a triangle peg to get it through the triangle hole he drew on top of the box. The triangle piece was never sold with the toy, but Dark carved it so well it looks like it was completely intended.
Dark wouldn't settle for a triangular peg. He'd throw Monopoly money at the hole while yelling something about a full house and somehow make it work.
Just like repair technology was lost to Protoss, architecture was lost to Terrans - they’ve probably never even thought about switching which side their add-ons go on

Game 3... Dark's use of the Nydus just absolutely tickles me pink. Truly warms my heart to watch a Terran of this caliber scrambling around in a panic trying to clean up the swarm but just gets utterly dismantled from the inside 😈❤️

This series gave me a feeling that Clem is so higher up on skill at the moment but Dark got that experience. So many builds
This game always has two aspects, intuitive and mechanical. Back when the game was still new, players like Dark and SOS would rock your shit. Clem or Reynor are more mechanically gifted. Serral used to be mechanical only but nowadays he learns and adapt very well so he is like the peak of both.
I disagree, Serral had a great adaptability as well - but he lacked the killer instinct that he has now@@clorkmagnus
@@clorkmagnus2018 serral best skill was scouting and ALWAYS knowing what his opponents was doing and how to react.
@@louisdrouard9211 his favorite play style was macro and beat people down with his superior mechanic. What I mean is him adapting to different players play styles and new patches instead of playing the same predictable defensive style with scouting.
Reacting properly does not make you play unpredictably.
Don't know how you got that from this game. Clem as usual is good with bio micro but for me Dark has been the better player for ages. Maru is also better than Clem as a player overall but slightly worse at bio micro.
What a series. Some of the best micro I've ever seen coming from Clem while Dark has a macro nydus rush. Madness.

It’s always so incredible to me to see a Terran with so much APM that they make the Zerg look inferior.
90% of ladder games end the second banes get speed. Clem just makes dealing with a flood look like taking out the trash

Buffing medivacs and cyclone in a single patch is really something
man, that nidus play was absolutely mental
I'm glad we're still trying stuff out phase. This is fun to watch. The problem for TvZ is exemplified in game 2 here.... Terran players are just going to figure out that with banelings overnerfed like this, all they have to do is spam marines in the early game and there's literally nothing Z can do about it. Dark and Serral have been trying everything they can think of, and it just doesn't work. Marines counter every zerg unit until T3.
Marines are untouched for years and terran keeps getting buffed for some reason. Mass roaches can't win against mass marines unless roaches are same number or more than the marines. That in itself is already a bad trade. Zerg have lesser effective options to counter mass marines with the bane and infestor nerf. Lurkers maybe a good counter but they can get easily countered by Ghosts and orbital scans. In late game, Ultralisks and Broodlords are also easily countered by Ghosts 50 energy snipes. Even Thors are a good counter to Broodloords.

Any other player would have lost that first match outright. I'm a dark fanboy but it looked like that dark had Clem dead to rights early on but he clawed his way back in somehow.
Like why didn't they just buff infestor fungal by making it 50 energy instead of starting infestors with 75 energy? Especially after they nerf the fungal damage having more fungals in total at max energy should be okay.
in my head dark is a tired writer, toiling over his 387th attempt at his masterpiece. after a game like this he takes a long drag of his cigarette looking down at the manuscript before him. He takes a deep sigh, puts his cigarette out on his bare arm before tearing this draft in half and getting to work on attempt 388.
Really think that reactored cyclones should be a 25sec 25/25 upgrade from the factory tech lab.
That way T still can go mass cyclone but it but allows reaction time before they start being pumped out. It's a very small change but i think it would be great
That makes absolutely no sense. Build a tech lab just to build a reactor afterwards? Cyclone is an early game unit, they are really bad past midgame. That would make cyclones never ever played other than 1 or 2 in the early game.
@@nickr0425 Problem most people are complaining about in the new patch is the rapid acceleration of mass cyclone. It's extremely hard to chew through if the first few go uncontested.
Instead of terrains being able to open up Rax, reactor then swap. They would be forced to go rax, tec then reactor to finish when the upgrade is done then swap.
There would be no issue with the first few marines as they would come out before the reactor is done anyway. Tech lab is still there if T wants to transition into stim or place another factory in it for tanks.
Remember it's not as if you can't build cyclones while the upgrade is being done you can still get one out before the swap. People that mass cyclone are always going the upgrade as well so you need the tech lab eventually. You're just losing one cyclone early game which is enough to stop the first 2 cyclones being completely uncontested.
That being said it could even be just a 25/25 25 second upgrade. It really doesn't have to be big at all
Cyclones should just be nerfed out of the game. It's just a stupid unit because the micro is so easy, it has a large range, shoots while moving and does a lot of damage.
Anyways the more realistic nerf to ask for is to make their upgrade take longer to research.
@@ForzaOwnz I think that also make no sense. If the issue is them being too easily mass, why not just increase their build time? That is essentially what you are saying by making them require a tech lab to get the reactor upgrade then swap. Your answer is so complicated, it is simpler just increase build time by 10-20% would give similar result.
If they are going to do that, they need to make the upgrade more worth it. Why would I invest time into that upgrade if I could just get seige? Drilling claw? or even blue flame upgrade? You are not considering the time lost and wasted upgrading a unit just to be able to make more of that unit. It might even be better to upgrade seige and just make a 2nd factory with no addon to pump out cyclone.
@@Newbtuber Increasing the build time would stall the first Cyclone, which is something I don't think needs to happen. 2 would just pop out a few seconds later and the issue still exists imo

Because 25 isn't that long at all compared to the other upgrades. You are going to get Hurricane Thrusters anyway so you are going to need the tech lab anyway
Yes you can go other upgrades but then you're not massing cyclones, so it would add diversity.
Let's be real though. Outside very few games no one is rushing drilling or blue flame anyway

What are you upgrading? Siege doesn't have an upgrade. Besides that it takes 80 seconds to build a factory so you're completely losing out

I still think making terran tier 1 unit marine so strong was a management decision from blizzard, not a balance team decision. like hur durr, lets make one unit beat everything else.
Activision Blizzard does not care about sc2 since broodlord infestor nerf patch. Its community patches nerfing zerg make marines stronger, indirectly.

Dark just had slightly off micro and didnt use infestors. Biles are just hard to land on stimmed marines...
basically you have to be in Ultra instinct or the enemy has to be bad.

I wonder what's the lose rate of going roaches.
From the games I've seen, if you can't do enough damage or just win out right with the first roach push, then staying on roaches seems to increase the chance of losing incredibly high.
looks a bit insane when zerg pushes with 60 supply advantage (and it's an army advantage). And cannot break terran. What does it take, like 250 supply? really stupid. Yes i know roach are super supply hungry thank you very much. But banes are shit nowdays thanks balance council.

Funny how when Zergs goes roaches that don’t shoot up.. Terrans don’t build banshees.. against broods they only go thors for anti air vulnerable to broodlings and never make a couple Yamato bcs to pick off a couple brood lords when they come forward
