Yea I wouldn't mind seeing one done my mafex, especially since they have done so many batman comic style before and done many capes. It would be very interesting to see. But yea Reeves and Tobey would be nice too as long as they get the skin tone down.
Mafex did so many Batmans so I hope they will get approved for 89 too... but they are always late to the game with announcements... and because quality control is so random I never pre-order from mafex always wait for review to see if the figure is hit or a complete miss

I have the NECA version with a wired pleather cape and it improves the figure 100%. I only have wires in the front where it connects to the Bat emblem but it looks soo much more accurate. Waiting on the Mezco delivery any time now. The Figuarts version reminds me of the old Toy Biz figure.
My personal favorite is the neca I just love that head sculpt And the cowl I just love it I bought one but I ended up getting the bootleg one so I'm going to end up buying a real one eventually. But mezco is my second pick it is dope it comes with accessories and the head sculpt is good and the outfit looks good too I just wish It didn't have that white powder. Shf needs to step up their game....... They definitely need a better head sculpt.
Yea gotta watch out for those knockoffs. How it is tho? Are the joints super loose or poorly painted? I don't own a neca bootleg so I have no idea how they are. The mezco one pretty good too, the likeness is ok. But yea neca one looks more giddy like it did in the film but the likeness is not perfect tho. Currently I'm working on taking the neca head and trying to shrink it down and maybe try it on the mezco or the mcfarlane version.
@@toys210 I think the knockoff is fine but the plastic is cheap I'm surprised I haven't broke it yet I had to paint the face because his face was a really dark tan almost brown and his lips we're purple and his joints can be loose at times. But like you're saying the neca isn't perfect though I think it's good enough though I think it will definitely look better with the s.h. figuarts when you add the neca head also thank you for your content love the vids
I still have my NECA that I had to buy with the blu ray movie. It was the last figure I bought at toys r us before they went out if business😅 Didn't you buy the Beast Kingdom version? The SHF looks like it can pass for a Mattel figure. Now that I look at the mezco next to neca, mezco's batman emblem looks a little too big. Neca looks more accurate in size.
Nice, yea that batman is awesome from neca, likeness not there but still a good fig. Yea I didn't include the beast kingdom because that one is not in scale, at least not 1/12 so I figured I shouldn't include it in this video. Oh I didn't even noticed the emblem size lol. I'll have to check it out
Great comparison vid. Appreciate you taking the time to do this, as I've been curious to see these side by side. I've been a huge 89 Batman fan since I was 11 in '89 and finally quelled my 89 bat fanboyism when I finished putting together a film suit made from actual parts used in production, including a recast of the real foam latex cowl, which I still own to this day. I've since sold many 89 memorabilia including a few toys but I still own the Neca Batman figure today because his waist joint broke and I want to repair it. When making comparisons to the real cowl, both Figure Arts and Neca are the most inaccurate. Yeah, even the NECA one has a very roughly embellished cowl sculpt. They way they did the brows, ears and dome on the forehead, is all wrong. Close...but wrong. It's the Mezco Batman that surprisingly came the closest in accuracy. However, all three sculptors did something annoying to each of the cowls by adding in the tear repaired slit on the back of the cowl. It's not supposed to be there. There was a problem on set where Keaton couldn't pull the cowl on and off because the foam latex cowl he used in that scene, was cast a bit too rigid and tight. So they cut the back open to get him in it and did a real quick patch job to hide it as best they could. This was only in one very short scene. But they were able to cast better fitting foam cowls for him for the rest of production and that slit is never seen again. I mean.. I guess one can look at it as some cool movie trivia detail.. But I didn't like seeing it. lol Also, Mezco gave the suit way too much grainy texture. The real suit wasn't slick smooth but it wasn't grits grainy either. The legs should have been much smoother and they also embellished the quad muscles. Those are wrong. The NECA Batman actually has the most accurate leg details. Overall, Mezco is the winner however. The body proportion is also much more accurate than either FA or NECA. Btw, someone on Reddit actually did put the Mezco head on the NECA body. It looked good. Although I'd probably opt in making a simple two part silicone mold of the Mezco head and casting a 65D semi-rigid resin copy and play with that instead of destroying a figure that now costs over 100 dollars. lol Despite my super nitpicky thoughts on the accuracy of these guys, they're all pretty neat toys and I know I would have loved them dearly if they were around in 1989. Sorry for the late reply. Didn't noticed this comment until now. Yea I agree with you on everything you have mentioned. I been to Warner brothers recently and saw the replica 89 suit on display and the suit definitely doesn't look that rough on the surface. As for the seam on the back, I actually like seeing that, is more accurate to the film. Yea I don't think any of the companies got the cowl sculpt correctly. I think keaton cowl should be a bit rounder around the cheek section. The upcoming hot toys version is nice but still not perfect but it does look quite nice.
First, before I make my observation I just want to say that I appreciate what you were trying to do. Give an objective comparison with the released Batmen for anyone that was wondering. I hope you do not take my observation as me being "shitty" or me trying to be a smart mouth. I thought you did a decent job of highlight both the Neca and SHFiguarts figures, but you didn't say anything really about the Mezco figure. Other than talking about the head sculpts and mentioning that the body was silicone you didn't do any comparison. I would recommend that you come up with a script or dialogue before you make your videos to ensure you are covering all of the relevant points. Hopefully someone will duplicate your video or you will redo it because I think the information is useful and valuable.

I went out of my way to get the neca one, one of my favourite figures in my collection. I would not mess with it. It’s to valuable in my collectionI also just learnt that beast kingdom made an 8 inch jack nicholson joker. Looking forward to McFarlane’s Keaton Batman from the flash.
Yea I think I canceled the beast kingdom joker. I was not happy how their keaton batman turned out but joker seems ok but I don't want to take that chance and I also have to cut down and sell more lol

Keaton is 5'9", so SHF is the true 1/12. Mezco suppose to be 1/12, but they just made this into a 1/10 scale (that's why one of the image I saw someone that has this and the McFarlane's Flash Batmobile fits so well). I think people were upset with the SHF because he is "tiny" vs what people imagined Keaton's Batman to be based on memory. fun fact is that Keaton is actually the shortest Batman on screen. Keaton 5'9", Bale 6'0", Adam West 6'2', Batfleck 6'2" , Battinson 6'1", Bat-I shake my head-Clooney 5'11", and Kilmer 6'0" I do think overall the mezco is the "better" figure if you were to just collect one 89 Batman and doesn't mix with the other DC or Marvel stuff. If you do collect other true 1/12 scale figure from SHF and MAFEX, the mezco will look very out of place as the size of it is basically a 1/10 scale.
Yea when I do comparisons between any other 1/12 scale, mezco figs are always a bit bigger and taller. Glad to hear he fits in the mcfarlane batmobile, can't wait to get that one in. I hope eventually mezco would make all the older batman characters, would love to re recreate that beach chair photos with all of them lol
Actually, the tiny from Figuarts has the right height for the 1/12 scale. Michael Keaton is only 5'9. Thats pretty short for a Batman. Three inches higher there's Bale (6'0), then we have Pattinson (6'1) and Affleck who has the exact height of the character (6'2).
I love my necca 89 Batman figure I think it has very good likeness to Keaton I like the fact it's molded plastic instead a rubber body suit it will eventually wear out and to difficult to pose like with the Mezco and the beast kingdom one
Actually the mezco one is the easiest one to pose, cos is metal skeleton wrapped with silicone but the issue is how long that material would hold up. Neca one is the least I have worry about and yea I like that the head is actually inside the cowl too.

I’m going to stick with my Neca Batman, simply because the Mezco one will be stupid expensive on 3rd party apps (eBay/Mercari) I really do like the look of the Mezco but I just worry about that silicone body over time. If I ever found it at its retail price I’d consider getting it but I know it’s only gonna go up. I’d love one of these companies (maybe Mafex?) to do a Batman Returns suit, as it’s my overall favorite. As for the Neca and Keaton likeness, I think it’s pretty well done imho. I think it looks like Keaton anyway. I have the Beast Kingdom Batman but I heavily customized it. I took off the weird body suit and basically glued down his armor to the body, cut a lot of articulation into it.. and I’m over all happy with it now too, minus the dumb scale. His cowl tho is 100% Batman Returns, not 89 at all. Would be nice to see Returns custom armor for him maybe if someone did it.
Also, you could grab a Tec-Shield Batman which is just a gold repaint version of Neca’s 89 Batman, repaint it, and perhaps do the combo of Mezco/Neca Batman.
Yea I too worry about silicone material, don't know enough to know how long it will last and what issues can come from it over time. The neca one is very nice and once the cowl is removed the head underneath does look somewhat like keaton too. I have tried it with the 1/4 scale version before. I too would love to get a 92 version, that too is my fav batsuit, the smooth sharp cowl is amazing. Hopefully we will get that in the future and from meca as well since they made the penguin and catwoman in 1/4 scale.
The Batman 89 is very good actually yes it has some flaws but l find it very good. I had the Mezco one but l realized that Mezco botched the figure, waiting for 3 years for a silicone kind of figure is unacceptable. Yes the likeness is there but in terms of overral look the l go for the SH figuarts.

I do really like the shf from the flash movie version cos it comes with an amazing keaton head sculpt. As for the 89, a custom cape should help that fig out a lot. Even the neca is pretty good too but like all the others, there's still some improvements can be had
@@toys210 As l said the Batman 89 Mezco is great no doubt but in terms of material and articulations it's awful! In terms of overral look l prefer the Batman SH figuarts 89, it's a very good figure actually. I have bought a custom cape from jaxon and it brings the figure at another level. Hope they won't botch the Dark knight mezco that is coming soon.

the SHF 89 Batman came out in 2020. It is 2023. You would think a figure that spent 3-years delayed would be better? Kamen Riders new releases (or Shinnkocchou Seihou) are still the best figures Bandai/SHF makes. Also it has always been a hit&miss with photo real on SHFs. some great, some looks terrible....
Nice comparison. My NECA Batman broke a leg, but I think it might be a bootleg version. I'm thinking about putting the NECA chest armor on a black Marvel Legends body, and customize it into a neckless magnet for One:12 Keaton Batman heads. I might not do that if I really like Mezco's Batman silicone body once I receive it in hand. It still hasn't shipped yet on my end.
I see, yea I think you will like the mezco, the silicone allows you to do some great poses but I just don't know enough about the silicone to know how long that would last, but while you have the fig, u gonna have fun posing it.

@@thomasgoree7976 oh no, dont....the beast kingdom batman is 8.5 inches in height so that joker would be pretty much that size too and it will not scale well with the neca batman. So only get the beast kingdom joker if you like the fig by itself, don't buy it to scale with other figs tho.

As for the Neca and Keaton likeness, I think it’s pretty well done imho. I think it looks like Keaton anyway.
I have the Beast Kingdom Batman but I heavily customized it. I took off the weird body suit and basically glued down his armor to the body, cut a lot of articulation into it.. and I’m over all happy with it now too, minus the dumb scale. His cowl tho is 100% Batman Returns, not 89 at all. Would be nice to see Returns custom armor for him maybe if someone did it.
Also, you could grab a Tec-Shield Batman which is just a gold repaint version of Neca’s 89 Batman, repaint it, and perhaps do the combo of Mezco/Neca Batman.
Yea I too worry about silicone material, don't know enough to know how long it will last and what issues can come from it over time. The neca one is very nice and once the cowl is removed the head underneath does look somewhat like keaton too. I have tried it with the 1/4 scale version before.
I too would love to get a 92 version, that too is my fav batsuit, the smooth sharp cowl is amazing. Hopefully we will get that in the future and from meca as well since they made the penguin and catwoman in 1/4 scale.

The Batman 89 is very good actually yes it has some flaws but l find it very good. I had the Mezco one but l realized that Mezco botched the figure, waiting for 3 years for a silicone kind of figure is unacceptable. Yes the likeness is there but in terms of overral look the l go for the SH figuarts.
@@Poupipoupi-bw2bl yea the mezco one was a bit disappointing for me too, definitely was not expect silicone myself. I do really like the shf from the flash movie version cos it comes with an amazing keaton head sculpt. As for the 89, a custom cape should help that fig out a lot. Even the neca is pretty good too but like all the others, there's still some improvements can be had
@@toys210 As l said the Batman 89 Mezco is great no doubt but in terms of material and articulations it's awful! In terms of overral look l prefer the Batman SH figuarts 89, it's a very good figure actually. I have bought a custom cape from jaxon and it brings the figure at another level. Hope they won't botch the Dark knight mezco that is coming soon.

I didn't because he wasn't really 1/12 scale that's why I didn't include that one. Because if I include beast kingdom I'll have to include the hot toys one

Unfortunately no, I hope they do eventually because they made the 92 penguin and catwoman but only the 89 batman and no joker either
Wow, I used to think that SHF were the best toy manufacturers ever since I saw their Kamen rider figures. But looking this together with Neca and Mezco, it looks like a knockoff oof. What happened?
the SHF 89 Batman came out in 2020. It is 2023. You would think a figure that spent 3-years delayed would be better? Kamen Riders new releases (or Shinnkocchou Seihou) are still the best figures Bandai/SHF makes. Also it has always been a hit&miss with photo real on SHFs. some great, some looks terrible....

Nice comparison. My NECA Batman broke a leg, but I think it might be a bootleg version. I'm thinking about putting the NECA chest armor on a black Marvel Legends body, and customize it into a neckless magnet for One:12 Keaton Batman heads. I might not do that if I really like Mezco's Batman silicone body once I receive it in hand. It still hasn't shipped yet on my end.
I see, yea I think you will like the mezco, the silicone allows you to do some great poses but I just don't know enough about the silicone to know how long that would last, but while you have the fig, u gonna have fun posing it.

But that neca 1/4 scale is so amazing. I got him on my floor next to Deadpool in my gameroom. I was about to pay a hefty aftermarket price. Then I found out neca was relaunching him. I love neca for that. They’re not like these other toy companies. They do relaunches all the time. Don’t even try to scalp neca products lmao

I love my necca 89 Batman figure I think it has very good likeness to Keaton I like the fact it's molded plastic instead a rubber body suit it will eventually wear out and to difficult to pose like with the Mezco and the beast kingdom one
Yea I think the neca one will outlast the others too...the beast kingdom will definitely be the first to deteriorate

@@thomasgoree7976 oh no, dont....the beast kingdom batman is 8.5 inches in height so that joker would be pretty much that size too and it will not scale well with the neca batman. So only get the beast kingdom joker if you like the fig by itself, don't buy it to scale with other figs tho.
