    Thank you for the videos. I live in San Antonio and I enjoy walking around old cemeteries. My family thinks its weird but I love the history behind it and the artistic beauty of some headstones.

    Too much lost history in San Antonio. Glad you are documenting what you find. I too like to read Paula Allen's column and have contributed in the past.

    Check out the Bacon-Beckmann Cemetery. Shows on satellite show on Google that it’s fenced and between two apartment complexes.

      I've checked on it, it's impossible to walk through all the brush to get to it. Talked to the city to see what they can do, but haven't gotten any updates on if they got it cleaned up or not.

    They used the archaic spelling for September: setiembre.

    WOW !!! Thank you SO much. I live in S.A. and I've never heard of this....so THANK YOU very much !! Contact the newspaper. Paula Allen....who does much of San Antonio's historical digging. She does a column every Sunday in the San Antonio Express-News. I looked up her Facebook site. It is "SanAntoniohistorycolumn". I bet she would love to hear about this & I'm sure she could help you on this and any other S.A. history. Again many thanks. Have you done anything on the King William area of San Antonio or the Quadrangle at Fort Sam Houston ??

    It looks like it was marked off with the orange markers. I believe they cannot destroy and must be reported to the county if one is found. Hopefully it will be saved.

    • @thesaexplorer
      @thesaexplorer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most definitely it will be saved. Cemeteries like this are protected by law. I was scared at first that it may have been disturbed because I had no idea where the cemetery was to begin with, but it looks like with those survey sticks and how the land was untouched that they knew there were graves there.

    Do the new home owners in that neighborhood know there is a cemetery in their subdivision ??

    I live in this neighborhood. Some jerk kids desecrated this graves. These graves were standing upright and fine until a few years ago. Some kids even tried to dig the graves up.

    • @thesaexplorer
      @thesaexplorer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I figured someone messed with it, because there were pictures of this place a few years back where everything was in order. I don't understand how kids or anyone take joy in doing something like disturbing an old grave...definitely keep an eye out on that place and let the HOA know about it.

      @@thesaexplorer We have. HOA sucks, but they've been informed. Neighbors are watching it. Don't know if you believe in ghosts or not but ever since the graves have been disturbed the whole neighborhood has been having activity.

      @@anthonymillsap6728 is that right? I wouldn't be surprised since someone disturbed their graves. What kind of paranormal activities have people been reporting?

      @anthonymillsap6728 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thesaexplorer well actually the reason I found your video was because it was posted in our neighborhood group page on a post about all the activity we've all been having. Hearing kids in backyards at 3 a.m, things moved, full body apparitions, stomping, electronics being messed with.

    Some good people should go out with chain saws and weed eaters and cut the trees back and weeds so they can be seen and respected. THE BUILDER IS GOING TO ERASE ALL OF THIS IF IT'S NOT STOPPED

    • @thesaexplorer
      @thesaexplorer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good idea, but cemeteries are protected so they can't be bulldozed or have anything built on top of it. However, it will definitely be lost. I'd wait to see what happens to that piece of land after they're done with construction. Perhaps they'll put a gate around it or something.
