I once had a game where I owned like 90% of the board, had hotels on orange, red, yellow, & green, which is 4 colors in a row, and the freakin hard ai managed to go around the board 3 times without landing on anything of mine except the railroads or utilities

I still doubt that it actually affects rolls.
I've watched people scream about the die rolls of games like Talisman and Blood Bowl being rigged in favor of the AI, and both those games have no such cheats involved. It's the fact that when RNG is involved, people only ever remember when the AI is on a lucky streak, and don't care enough to notice when the AI's rolls are trash for entire games.
@@freedantheeternal Monopoly has very little actual strategy; 90% of the game is reacting to the roll of the dice. So for Monopoly, yes, weighting the potential dice rolls is how to make the AI "harder". That doesn't mean you won't get good rolls or the AI will never miss a 90% weight to hit a roll of either 2, 3, or 5, though.
I am sure I watched a did you know gaming about Mario party and it was the same, it would actually give them better rolls as the game can't truly randomise it or something like that. I assume that the same applies with monopoly.
@@thorn312 Computers can't do "truly random". They instead use a starting value to determine a pseudo-random list of numbers. (That's why you can duplicate someone's world in games like Minecraft if you have the seed- it uses the same generated set of numbers.)
DYKG didn't do a great job with the randomness explanation. Most random numbers are seeded using the current time as a seed number, and since we're not going back in time, it's always going to appear different. In Mario Party, the same roll can be achieved because the seed appears to be generated before the round of turns. Instead of generating off "right now", it generates off "when the seed was made plus X increments". So if you hit the button exactly 2 seconds after a counter starts, the seed is always x+2 seconds and the roll is the same.
Here in Monopoly, it's different in that the seed roll is probably the tpical "use right now for the seed" setup, but the rolls are likely weighted. Instead of just "generate two numbers between 1 and 6", it can say "pick one randomly from this list of rolls: 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 8, 8, 10, 11, 12" where 3, 6, and 8 are the AI's properties (safe) and 5 and 9 are player's property with a hotel (unsafe).
The power that the Game Grumps hold over each other when playing Monopoly is too immense. Mr. Business and Video Game Boy must be stopped.

Just so long as they don't lose to the computer. That's almost as unsatisfying as glitching to the end. I worry that they're going to forget how much they wished they'd worked together on the other games where the Hard AI would eat Arin and then gain the strength to eat Dan.

Are you guys going to continue "It Takes Two?" I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to see you both continue that great co-op game.
At this point they are falling into their "Safety Blanket" content, like Wheel Of Fortune and this because they know it always have views and the games are familiar.
Sadly they don't like to take a gamble with views for new games because it might not be everyone's cup of tea, and they don't want to lose those views.
Ever wonder why when they start something, at first it's like 3 to 4 episodes, then dies out for a while, then maybe it comes back or not.
That's just what i think. I would love to see It Takes Two and if you want to as well go back and watch those Videos, maybe then the uptick might encourage them to pursue the rest of it.
I hope they bring it back too...
