I'm not even kidding I truly believe these videos have improved my golf game so much more than any "how to hit driver far and straight" videos out there. So many strokes can be saved by just thinking through the shot instead of thinking about the 100's of things going on with your swing, really love these videos. I'm a 21 handicap a year into the game and taking these course management tips have helped me break 100 more consistently than I thought I could
It's hilarious that people can watch your videos and still talk shit or think the HC isn't legit. Your game doesn't lie, it just proves you don't need insane distance off the tee to be a single digit HC. No, you aren't playing from the tips but that also doesn't matter. People are too caught up in their own bullshit to just enjoy good content. Keep it up.
He's worked out the distance now, too. The tweaks he's gotten have worked their way into the swing and he's learned to make 'em feel natural. That 3w was going 230ish today and driver 270ish! Very respectable.
The way you approached Hole 2 is why you are an excellent golfer and an exceptional teacher. You have embraced the way of the playa…thank you for your videos.

I shot a 78 last night....on a par 56. It's still a win because I was 7 strokes better than my best score, and I didn't have anything worse than a double bogey. I approached the course with a different mindset than I usually do and it paid off.

@@thk8933 I just like the idea that your golf status determines the size of hat you can wear. Adam is a good golfer, so he can wear a fisherman's bucket hat, but he isn't yet at a level where he can go full Tour Aussie style.
Hey Adam, ignore those stupid comments from non golfers. I am 62 (Bad Back) and only hit the driver 200 meters. But I can push it either way into the rough. It is my short game, like yours that keeps my score healthy. In fact, when I was in my 30's, I could hit the driver 260 to 280 meters, but when I missed the driver, the outcomes were still bad. My handicap today is 11 and when I was in my 30's it was 8 to 9. Driver has always been my nemesis, so I learnt how to manage my game to still get decent scores.

Shot my personal best 80 today with some decent tee balls and shotty second shots. I was scrambling like a baus today. Putter was on fire too. Was able to hit most greens or at least chip it close if I didn’t. Lag put like crazy today too. Course management was the key today
Adam, I’ve been subscribed to your channel for over a year now and you’ve really found your stride with the editing, consistency of messaging/story telling, entertainment and inspiration. It’s one of my favorite golf YT channels because you pack all of that into videos less than 15 minutes. I know you’re probably not interested in YT stats, but I hope you can get close to 100K subs over the next 9-12 mos.

Good stuff Adam. I'm living proof that it's not how far you hit, but how many times that really matters, for non pro golfers at least. I'm not a super long hitter, but hit the ball farther than average, and way farther than most in my age group, however shooting a good score almost always comes down to approach shots, and short game. Distance is a big advantage in golf, but only if you are able to capitalize on it. Playing with my usual group, if I'm having 'good' day, then I can just about run away with any sort of skins, or whatever were doing. Most days though it comes down to what happens inside 100.

Great stuff Adam, at ~ 6000 yard courses I definitely hit a lot of 4 irons off the tee to keep the ball in play and my score usually reflects that decision. I'm guessing a 77 for your tournament...good luck and play well!!

Nice seeing the course I was an assistant pro at. You can still see some tree lines that follow old holes. My guess is for Langara 79 and the 3 rounds 248. With tournament pressure that would be pretty good I usually guess players shoot about 50 to 75% above their index

6 80’s and a couple 81’s and 82’s. Going to happen. I hit 12 of 14 fairways and 13 GIR but my putting was terrible. Going to happen because I’m hitting too many good shots. Appreciate the content.

You have 2 really good things about your game. You hit a high(relatively) number of GIRs. But when you don't you limit the damage to just a bogey. I shoot in the mid 80s with 8-11 pars or better. But it having 3 doubles and 1 triple per round that wrecks my score.

At around 00:39, "I would choose a club that goes around 210".... so, driver for me! 😅
Thanks for sharing these insightful videos! Really helps I do enjoy the narrative thought process. How do you do the narrating? Is the audio put in later? If so how do you remember what you did for each hole or shot etc. Curiosity has always peaked my interest to maybe some day do this type of stuff as well! Just for fun.

My prediction is 77. Golf is a mental game, so we'll go with a few shots worse here. A real tournament round is very different than a practice round.
Wow, anyone can complain about anything. If I showed you my scorecard and it said 80, would you ask me how I got there? No, because the score is what counts. All swings are different but it is how you score that matters. Not how it looks.

This tournament you're talking about. Is it handicapped or is it straight up stroke play?
Good content as usual - but one thing to keep in mind is that scoring DOES NOT only or truly occur only once your on or near the green. EVERY shot factors into your scoring. Scoring happens from everywhere on every hole, and every shot plays a role in your scoring for a given hole and overall scorecard. Your wayard tee shots and/or approach shots that miss off of the green have just as much impact, or more, on scoring than a poor chip or putt.
Lol it's amazing how few people realise this! To be good at golf you have to be decent at everything.
@@robertcourt8593 Agreed. Now, you certainly can be quite/very good and a single digit handicap with a couple weaknesses (maybe not MAJOR but noticeable weaknesses), case and point this channel!
But to reach your full potential at any given time/season, you must embrace driver, your tee to green game, including approach game, as well as short game and putting.
Only focusing on, say, short game and "accepting" that your tee and/or approach game is a weakness is fine...but it will limit your true scoring potential if you don't work on your weaknesses.

Warning: don't tap in your putts with the toe end of your putter like that. You are likely straddling your putter line with that and it is a penalty.
