- I recently went to Scotland with my family and although it was a more family oriented holiday I still managed to visit 4 distilleries, 6 bars and tried 74 whiskies including 13 new make spirits! I recap my malt moments of the whiskies I tried and give quick ratings. I hope you enjoy my journey.

What a great journey, Sertug, with lots of dram I'm curious of (starting with the new Hedonism, the Glen Scotia Mermaid which isn't allowed to be sold here-too bad & many others-I wonder if you had the same Daftmill 2006 I'm crazy about, the WB133439), it's also great you got to try new makes not only from new distilleries, I'm in for it too, and those Deanston look the part too, Cheers ! 👍🥃
Thanks Greg I did have a lot of fun 😃 The Hedonism is beautiful, I'd say better than I remember compared to the old one. The Mermaid is good, Palo Cortado really fit well with the Glen Scotia character. It's just shy of 100pounds so it made me a bit apprehensive about getting it. I didn't check the code on the Daftmill but it was delicious! If you like your new make tasting and if you want to geek out on tons of information, which I know you do 😃, I highly recommend a trip to Holyrood Distillery. They're doing some incredible things with new makes and yeast strains. Cheers Greg, thank for watching 🥃

74 whiskies in 6 days in a family trip??? Even with 2.5 cl drams in the UK, that would make approximately 3 whole bottles in 6 days and you are saying that 14 of these were new make spirits with 63.5% ABV. I do not try more than 5 maybe 6 whiskies on a day, otherwise I won’t be able to appreciate them. Wow!
Hahaha when you put it that way it does sound a lot but mind you these were spread out through a day, and not all were my glasses. My brother and wife had whiskies as well so it was us tasting from eachothers. Sharing is caring 😃🥃
