    14:48 sounds like “For your goodness and your mercy towards us.”
    And 16:33 sounds like “Great is your mercy towards me. Your loving kindness…”
    Classic🔥

    This is great. People can take these and play very traditionally or reharmonize them, restructure, etc. Once you learn the 'rules' you can break them and these are excellent foundations

    You've hit another home run here. Thank you. Your delivering this just right IMO. Slow and simple, no need to run paradiddles at learners. No need for paradiddles for advanced either, they have got their own. I notice that, for example, you are notating (in the key of Db an C Eb Ab C shape as a vii/V. I would normally call this a V/3 where the 3 is the third note of theAb major (or lydian) scale. Your "vii" seems to be referring to the 7th note of the key? But then it is marked vii not VII, Not sure.

    • @AnthonyCollierMusic
      @AnthonyCollierMusic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeaaa I see nothing wrong with V/3. I’ve been going back and forth with how I want to notate certain things now that I’m going public. You’ll soon find out that I’m very unorthodox when it comes to music theory. I normally just say we’re playing the 5 over the 7 aka 5/7. 7 being the 7th degree of the key which we would play in the bass 🤷🏾‍♂️.

    This is all really excellent! However, I'd have liked to have been able to buy and download these 11 walk-ups and walk-downs written in a sheet in PDF form. This lesson is cumbersome because of all the stopping and starting one needs to do on the vid.

    This was extremely helpful. Love the way you do your chord charts. Makes it really understandable when to implement slash chords.

    Another quick suggestion- no one ever shows their hands. All we see is Chordie.
    As a newbie - it would be a differentiator if someone also showed their hands sometimes and how they touch the keys to get that nice grace notes sound and small fingering movements during their movements.
    No one teaches fingering and hands in the gospel TH-cam genre

    • @AnthonyCollierMusic
      @AnthonyCollierMusic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I know I know 😭😭 I wish I could show my hands man.. it’s been a pet peeve of mine as a TH-cam tutorial watcher when people don’t show their hands. But now that I’m making videos.. it’s simply a hurdle of getting another camera and my computer handling all that at once. But as I grow, that’s one of the first things I’ll set up 👍🏾

    • @edwindavis5468
      @edwindavis5468 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That can help and hurt! Ultimately, you want to do the fingerings that's comfortable for you! As long as the smoothness and execution is there, there is no "finger rule"! Only look at others fingerings for suggestions, and not to fully copy, especially if it's gonna take you an extra month to learn!

    I understand (begginner) scales but what can I study to learn which chords are minor or major in any given scale?

    • @AnthonyCollierMusic
      @AnthonyCollierMusic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would looking into the “interval formula” for constructing chords. Like one example is a major chord..C major: no matter what key or scale you’re in, if you are playing 3 notes at the same time(C-E-G), and the first 2 notes are separated/ have a interval distance of a Major 3rd (C to E) and the last two notes have a interval distance of a minor 3rd (E to G) then you will always have a major chord. To summarize, a major chord has these components in it: first a 3rd interval followed by a minor 3rd interval. If all that is confusing, then I can try to find the video that helped me understand this.

    Thank you cousin, that was Jazz meets Jesus. But I know it was Jesus gave us Jazz. Those changes sound so much more important in praise and thanks than old time Jazz. Your subs will grow by 2000 a month ... you will break 20,000 before Thanksgiving. All Gods people say - Amen.

    If you're playing in the key of Db, the chord name is not F sharp but G flat.

    • @AnthonyCollierMusic
      @AnthonyCollierMusic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You’re right. I know. I just don’t like saying or looking at Gb so I say F# lol that’s it. Very silly, I know 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @YBmunashe
      @YBmunashe 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This theory is useless ibr, it's better we just call the notes F# and Ab and Eb and Bb because the alternatives are just ugly, C#/Db anywhich way ibr

    • @edwindavis5468
      @edwindavis5468 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@AnthonyCollierMusic it's not silly fam. ANY experienced musician know this, and most unexperienced musicians know this by now! And even if they don't, it WILL NOT affect the sound or the lesson! Who in the audience will say "This sounds horrible because he's playing in Gb and it's supposed to be F#! These kind of comments are SOOO unnecessary to make in the comment section of someone giving a lesson! Keep up the good work! SMH!

      @edwindavis5468 I don't know if I've ever said Gb out loud to be honest 🤔 it's always F# for me. My black keys are always C#, Eb, F#, Ab, Bb.
