Thanks so much for the nice comment, like you I love this part of the world and I’m lucky enough to live on its doorstep.
Thanks for the vid, i like the place names superimposed every now and again, it makes it easier to follow your route and drop a pin on a map. I've never done the Clay Bank To Castleton Road, so will have a look the next time i'm up there, hopefully in a few weeks. GL
Cheers for the comment, I’ve put together a route map in 'My Maps’ www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1yRIWfj79JBRaCIatuFq5E53SfsravMc&usp=sharing
Link is also in the description, hope this helps.
@@oldmaninashed Thanks for that, appreciated. I was thinking of maybe combining your route from stonegate to egton/egton bridge and then down the lane through stape onto pickering, then back through the vale of york, instead of heading north, as it's a road i havent done since the 70's when cycling lol & can't remember it. As i live just outside bradford it's going to be a fairly long 200mile day in a few twisties, but i'll create a cpl of gpx's for importing into my beeline and see what i fancy later. GL
just to let you know i've been exploring some of the the roads you mentioned (twice) in the last few weeks, always good to take a new route, and yesterday did bear off at houlsyke (i missed the left turning onto the moor coz i thought it looked like a driveway, and only when i looked later on google earth did i realise my mistake lol. there was a pretty unmaintained narrow turning left turning back on itself before said junction, which i didnt fancy so thought better of it), so went through glaisdale and then headed off down into pickering from egton bridge through stape, what a superb road that is over the moors, especially the first part. twas a lovely warm day with sun for most of it, and i'll add what i missed plus a few other roads to my collection when im next up there soon. GL and thanks again
