Ok, you got to admit that I managed to save that fail pretty well haha! 😆So, what you you think about the welder?? Pretty handy, isn't it! In some cases welding can totally replace soldering and in others - it can assist. If you are interested in permanent jewelry in particular, stay tuned, as I'll be posting another video on this subject. And here's the video with more details on how to set it up, what it is and how is works! - th-cam.com/video/WJLG3LkP6t4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JKXyjF7qaXz9O_Zo
I love this, I could see so many uses from watching you, I could see it being a daily use item if I had the space and money, it would be fantastic. Even just to make sure those pesky jump rings STAY closed! Making your own bails that again stay closed, neat ball head pins for holding beads that I love. I wonder if you did that could you then gently hammer that ball into more of flat dome shape, I found some head pins that weren’t balls and weren’t flat, they were like dainty domes and were perfect so I wonder how that would work if you had a bead sized metal ball with hole you could put the pin through weld the end then gently hammer to shape, would it work! I make a bracelet with LOADS of dainty gemstone head pins wrapped to coils and different sized gemstones, and it looks stunning, the hardest part is getting suitable sterling silver pins with suitable “keep the bead on” parts! The pins were so expensive it wasn’t feesable to make more, this would let you get wire and create from scratch and make it dainty and ease less wire! Love your videos Basia (hope I spelt that right) you are such a good teacher and I love seeing what you create and how you create it and the innovative uses you have for things with a totally different use! 😊😊😊
Exactly! That little cage pendant was my favourite project, because it showed me some creative ways to use this tool. Looking forward to experimenting some more 🥰
Thank you so much! ❤️ That's so interesting that you mostly use a welder, I'll check out the model you have. I think both techniques are great for different jobs and combining them offers even more possibilities.
Hello! I am SO happy to find this! I a have been asking about welding vs soldering in my jewelry groups . I have a watermelon tourmaline ring, gold bezel and silver band. The artist welded the bezel to the band. It's quite chunky of a piece too. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's my favorite piece of jewelry. No solder. It cost me more because the artist said welding takes SO much longer but she said it is a stronger and cleaner looking bond. Thoughts? Thanks again for your helpful videos! ~ Steph
I love this, I can see so many uses in jewellery making, if only I had the space and money lol! Love how it worked for your pendant and the ball on the wire to keep the bead on that was perfect. You “cage” pendant was lovely I must admit I did wonder when the crystal wasn’t there lol, but these things happen for a reason and became more perfect for you! 😊😊😊 how is your new workspace I hope you are more settled now and “freeer” 😊😊😊
I've recently moved my workshop back into my flat and I think the overall feel is more cozy now 🥰 It definitely reflects how I feel in this new space. I'm happy you enjoyed this video and found comfort in watching it ❤️
Good to see you back....love the video looks ideal for certain things. Would appreciate if you could shoe us the setting up of the equipment please... Love and light.
Sure! Here it is, I've recently made a video about how to set it up, what it is and what it's used for 😀 th-cam.com/video/WJLG3LkP6t4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=K0c9aRfHlclMNYzS
That’s is such a beautiful piece! Can you do a video on polishing mandrels? There are so many and I find it confusing which ones to use for polishing. Also now I want a welder! 🤣
At last, a silversmith using the welder. Thank you so much. I was wondering if you can do a ring with stone in bezel. I’m curious if this is possible. Thanks again.
Not too bad pricing for a micro spot welder. Not applicable if you’re trying to add metal as it’s using the existing metal to make a weld. One trick you may want to try with this machine if you have thick material to weld is drilling a through hole and welding through the hole. This machine would probably be wonderful if you were trying to make a chain from scratch.
Thank you so much! I'm happy you enjoyed the video, I wanted to show a variety of projects and uses, but there are many more that I didn't get to show yet 😀 To answer your question, yes, I may get a small commission if you purchase something through the links I share. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps 🥰 Thank you so much
Of course, it's not something you have to get, that's not a necessary tool for everyone. It's a great addition to a growing workshop and if it's being used on a regular basis by some makers 😁 I talked all about the tank and the whole set up in the first video from the mini series, please feel free to check it out, it's on the channel and linked under this video. I share how to set everything up, explain what this tool is and, what it does 👍 As for the argon itself, according to a quick Google search "Argon itself does not burn. Containers may explode in fire. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. Argon may react explosively with liquid nitrogen", so don't worry, it's not more dangerous at home than any other canisters or gases you might have.
Great tool but very pricey, there’s other welders out there for much less than 1,400 dollars and for newbie’s or people that just do it for a hobby 1,400 is way too expensive
how much do they cost, i can see the use they have but if the cost is restrictive not only to purchase also to run iit is not cost effective as in costing three to five pounds to do two small jobs and it cost 7/8 hundred pounds to buy i will not be buying
Could you explain? I'm not sure what you mean by "cost to run", do you mean energy? I have another video about the set up in which I'm also explaining more about this tool. Maybe it'll answer more of your questions

This is certainly intriguing. Especially in terms of "tacking" pieces together that ultimately will need to be soldered. Thanks for the video!

Happy to see you again. You are amazing creative and talented artist. I love your art. Thanks ❤😊
Lovely as always. Your skill with the saw is perfection. ⭐
Thank you so much! I'm happy you enjoyed watching it :)
Wow that is so cool! I’m happy for you that you have your studio at home now for easy access!
Thank you so much, Abby! Yes, it feels so much better and more motivating 🥰 Lots of videos are in the works now, same with jewelry 😍
I build most of my pieces with welding (Orion 100c), but when I need strength I use solder.
Good video.
I like the cage by the way. Well done.

Looks like an amazing tool!
It turned out to be even more useful than I thought! 😀 Thank you so much for watching, Elsa ❤️
Thanks for the showcase!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰
Great information on this tool.😊 Thank you.
First the like, then I watch the video. Hello Miss Stardust.
Aww, that's very sweet! Thank you 🥰 I hope you'll enjoy the video
love the format it feels more comfortable, closer to home idk how you managed to capture that🤨

This video was fantastic! What's the thickest ring / gauge that the welder can weld? :)
Amazing vid, thanks!
Thank you! 🥰

4:00 Aparat: "co ta Basia znowu odpiernicza, nawet nie chcę na to patrzeć!" 😂😂😂
No dokładnie! 🤣 A ja głupia dałam mu wolną rękę, zamiast dać manual focus 🙈 No ale na błędach się trzeba uczyć 😁
This was great, Basha, thank you so much for sharing! Do you get any kind of extra reward if we buy from Pepe using the links in your video?

👍👍
Considering it's a $2,000 welder, I'll stick with soldering....also the whole argon tank in the house, odd you didn't talk about that.

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithinggreat response you do awesome work for learning jewelers

What are they? The Amazon one doesn’t compare
@@MiriamBarberi I never buy amazon anything for jewelry making but there’s other brands that sell on there
