Today is 9/23/19. I received my Archangel stock this morning. Already had the old stock removed from my M44. Installation of the new stock took about ten minutes. Checked the five round mag it came with for fit and function and it fed just fine. Was able to feed and eject all five rounds with no problem. Kept the stock trigger and it pulled just like its supposed without having to remove any material from the back of the trigger guard. Very pleased with my purchase.
Great Video, Great Company. Installed my russian 91/30 today . dropped right in, works perfectly. to all you haters, the guy says 100% warranted, they will replace any and all problems. why the negative comments??
One thing. I used a snap ring tool to open up the 2 bands which allowed me to pull them all the way off. Note that the smaller front band needed to be opened up a tad more, so if you decide later on to return your m91/30 to it's original build, you can reuse the original bands that came with your rifle.
Today is 01/21/22. I received my Archangel stock and seven 10 round magazines. The Good: (1) Aesthetics/design are very good; (2) Installation very easy. The Bad: (1) The magazines do not contain/hold the rounds properly - the slightest bump and 4-6 rounds eject in quick succession. Fitted in a mag carrier (without a strap over the rounds) a small jump will have the same effect. Holding the magazine parallel with the ground the slightest rattle will have 7-9 rounds eject. The fault is a retaining spring clip which has the sole job of keeping the rounds in the magazine - and, when the magazine is installed, it retreats/pushed cleared to allow the rounds to cycle upwards into the receiver with ease. I understand why they opted for this design (as the spring needs to undertake its task while not installed and retreat when installed - otherwise the rounds will not go into the receiver). However, the spring clip is simply not sufficient or sturdy enough to hold the rounds properly while the magazine is not installed. I tried this on all 7 magazines supplied and it was the same result for each of them. As a result of this fault, and in spite of any good points, I am sending the stock and magazines back to the distributor.
I got this stock for Christmas and my 1933 Tula hex receiver 91/30 fits perfectly! I didn’t have to shave anything down for the trigger or the interrupter or anything! It came with a 5rnd mag and I bought two 10rnd mags and all three work perfectly with absolutely no problems with feeding or anything. I can’t speak for the early production stocks but mine works perfectly and I would highly recommend it! One thing I had to do to the mags is file down the lip on the mag for the magazine catch but it worked before I did that too, I did it because the mags were a little tight to insert and remove but after only a few seconds of gentle filing they are smooth and lock into place much better!
There's one thing I didn't see mentioned and I can't find this info anywhere. What happens to your original cleaning rod? The Mosin has a hole for this, but I haven't seen any installed in the archangel stock.
Just installed mine. I'm looking forward to seeing how this can handle the deer woods this coming fall 😁 (got mine in OD Green to blend in better with the woods)
Great stock only problem I have with mine is the rear threaded pillar in the stock stripped out. So I gotta figure out how to fix that but other than that it's great.
Hey I've ordered 2 on eBay and the barrel is too big for the stock and that plastic you said to shave off is already off...😅. Any advice where I can order one that will fit? 🙏
I got one and have had feeding problems from day 1 it looks great but it really sucks . I remember seeing a fix for it by putting the magazine in the oven but can't find it now
You would think instead of correcting the errors with additional parts and having to grind on a new stock, that they would correct the machining of the stock. I was thinking of purchasing a couple of their stocks, but after seeing the corrections that would or might need to be done, I decided against the purchase.
The reason that this cannot be effectively done is because of the cheap and inconsistent manufacture of the mosin nagant itself. Not to mention just how many hands went into the cookie jar for building these thing and by that I meen the many different countries building them. My Russian 9130 went In perfectly and everything worked well no mods required
What is the product number for the new Mosin Nagant variant that will accommodate larger/thicker interrupter? I have a sniper version (longer barrel) Mosin Nagant, and the archangel stock I have won’t sit the barrel properly. The back end is sticking out about 1/4 inch. Thanks.
So it's normal that the stock needs to flex in order to tighten it to the action all the way? I don't need to remove any material to make it not flex so much?
Will a stock replacement improve the accuracy of the rifle? Ive got an M44 that seems to shoot all over the place, after several resights, im under the impression that my factory stock may be the problem.
Is there suppose to be a space between the barrel and stock like the barrel is free floating? I screwed on the two bolts and its flushed in the back, but there is a small space between the front of the stock and the barrel.
Do these stocks work on Finnish 7.62x53R? Mine has already changed stock to be a little more modern but it has done after WWII so it is more hunting rifle now. Also, my bold handle is not straight but it has turn.
I am looking for a replacement recoil pad for my Archangel stock any information would be helpful?! does limbsaver make one or another company make a better replacement Recoil pad that the one that comes with the Archangel stock like you have that can just snap on??
Do you have the v3 10rd in stock? just recieved my stock and 10rd mag shoots out rounds like a water fountain.. was also missing the piece if you don't have the timney will this effect performance if missing?
Installed this on mine. Trigger guard relief was horrible and the gun COULD'NT fire. Following this instruction video, started to dremel it down as suggested. Hit metal. Then, when tightening the barrel back in again with the rear screw, that metal cracked, and the rear side of the trigger guard cracked off. It's a 1943 Russian, full length and I received this stock as an Xmas present this year. Sent an email, all together really disappointed this didn't work out. The trigger slot gives almost a full 2 inches to the front of it, but that rear can't even clear the guard.
When I tighten the bottom screw all the way the trigger does not work. If I loosen it up until it is barely in, the trigger will work, but not if I tighten it even just half way. Any idea what this issue could be?
There's info in the video about grinding down the trigger guard to give it room to pull. Is that your issue? I had to grind mine down before I could get enough room for a complete trigger pull.
Can anyone tell me if a 1960's SAKO Finnbear L61R action in 30.06 would fit in the Weatherby Vanguard version of this stock and how much customization would be needed?
where is the rear sling attachment point? My stock 1926 Tula Hex trigger worked fine, the bolt must be closed when you insert a magazine or it will not feed.
Answer it is the hole just behind the handhold that is behind the cheek riser adjustment. Looks very similar to the hole all the way to the front of the stock on the underside. Requires a tacticool sling.
What is the average Weight Difference in the Rifle. Is there anyway you can weight with the wood stock then the aftermarket stock and let us know what they are. Thanks in advance.
Donovan Corcoran I am unsure about the older stocks before the problem fixes but I believe that the newer production stocks have enough room for the bull barrel as mine has quite a bit of floating room and it’s a 1933 Tula hex receiver 91/30. Hope this helps! It is an amazing stock and I have had absolutely no issues with it at all.
I ordered from the website that first comes up on Google when you type in pro mag industries. I just want to get my product or my something. To talk to someone would be nice,
This product is absolute trash. After having to dremel down the stock to allow clearance i screwed it in, threw the bolt in then bam realized the trigger didn’t have enough clearance to get the bolt out. Here’s to the next hour trying to figure out how to un screw this up. Thanks guys
I bought the same stock and installed my Russian Mosin 91-30, the trigger is too close the the back of the guard and there is not enough room to pull the trigger back enough to release the firing pin. Am I doing something wrong?
I hope this Archangel stock is worth it because the company's customer service sucks. You call them and they don't even give you the courtesy of returning your call.
I ordered a stock from you guys no one will answer any call I have not got product and every number listed is is fake or like a cell phone number from CA. And it says your out of Arizona.
So guys. Can you explain why the mag/stock does this exactly? th-cam.com/video/nhweHcSSG_M/w-d-xo.html I have never handled any gun or rifle that does this. Period. Was this a design oversight? When the stock installed, only one round is released, unlike in my video. But that’s still one round too many. If you put a mag in a gun, you should be able to take it out, without a round being left in the gun, to hopefully fall out in a convenient place and not just land in the dirt somewhere. Not to mention, the bullet retaining spring at the top of the mag, can be so loose, that if you put the mag down a little too rough, bullets can just spring out.
@@jamesbizs It is my understanding that the metal clip retaining the rounds was bad on some of the mags. Call them bc they said it was under warranty. They cover this in the video at about 16:30.
@@TheCopperKid the issue at 16:30 appears to be the opposite of my issue. The rounds get stuck in the mag due to plastic warping. Mine, the rounds pop right out of the mag. It doesn't seem like it's a defect, but a poor design. An issue inherent with the design. A single round will always release when you insert the magazine. The way they designed it, it can't work any other way. And I honestly can't believe no one else has complained about this.
