7 handicap...been really struggling with the pull and was having a hard time breaking 80. Watching this video, practiced for an hour, then played the next day and shot 76 without a single pulled shot! Thanks for the lesson, Mark. This is simply superb!
This is similar to the advice my first instructor gave me. He always said, "Just shake hands with the target". Took me forever to figure that out, but I think that is what makes this game so beautiful and frustrating at the same time. The answer is always simple, but we make it so complex.
I just found you. Lookin frwd to more instruction. Thanks man.
Mark another brilliant video
thanks
A brilliant drill Mark. I have tried it in the garden and can “feel” what I have been missing in my swing (I hope!); can’t wait to try it out on the course 😊
Nice Video big long time fan wanna see more videos of playing golf ⛳️
Love this exercise of feel. This makes so much sense just listening and seeing this drill. Good stuff Mark!
Brilliant. So smooth.
Brilliant video
Hi mark are you going to do any course / playing blogs again ?
I continue to believe Mark knows more about the golf swing than anyone.
I find that release "position" a real stretch to get to.... It's no wonder I struggle to get there dynamically!
You're the best.
I wish I learned this type release instead of handle pushing to keep flat left wrist. I have found with irons I tend to crash and hit very deep divots now that I've worked on this. Any tips?
How it is different from flipping of the wrist which we are not supposed to do it. Thanks.
Mark, one thing I’m confused about in these release videos, is this release achieved only by forearm rotation? It seems like from club horizontal downswing to horizontal through swing it’s just the forearms rotating anti-clockwise as you look down at them from your personal point of view? Is the rate of closure even? I’ve tried this at the range and the shots are clunky
What if for a golf that has a different type of release? Not the roll release.
Anyone ever noticed, if you follow multiple TH-cam golfing instructors, they seem to release the same instruction at the same time.
They're all competing for our attention. It's a business now 🤣
It took me so long to properly understand release. I think all those videos out there about lag, compression, shaft lean at impact, etc have only served to confuse golfers and left people fretting about 'flipping' when you actually have to get the club overtaking the hands.
Totally agree. I have to feel like I’m flipping the club even tho on slo mo video I’m not even close to flipping
Lag, compression and shaft lean are all cons in that if you TRY to do them, you will not be able to. I'll go so far as to say they were made up concepts by coaches to obfuscate and confuse students......
@@method341 we’ll lag compression and shaft lean are are all critical components to hitting an iron properly. But there are people like me who have too much and sort of have dead hands which lead to pushes so for me flipping is a good feeling to have only because I already compress the ball well and have good shaft lean.
I hate the term compression. The ball compresses no matter what that’s what golf balls do.
Lag and shaft lean are just products of how you have swung the club till that point. If you have done everything right it will just happen it isn’t something you should consciously try to achieve. Good grip good set up good body motion and it’ll happen
@@Jam9151 yea I think they basically mean angle of attack when they talk about compression and hitting more down on the ball
I really miss the long form golf vlogs with coach and others.
Yes
I do this but snap hook. What am I doing wrong.
The video editing is (deliberately ??) messed up around 6:19.
In the middle of your sentence "somewhere down here ...." the camera cuts to a completely different view (from you being in the golf stance .... approaching impact, to a shot of you talking to the camera) "obviously there's a lot that go wrong".
Was this editing deliberate ?
Very weird and strange if it was.
How amy times in your life have you said have you said .This Way😃
So many drills, so little time!!
I like your optimism, but hit it straight every time, I wish😂
Haha
Not a single human can hit the golf ball straight every time.
Depends what a player’s definition of straight is. If you are talking zero spin axis then I agree.
If you are talking more balls in play, then this is something many can improve on.
Say that again Mark?🤣
Exasperating
