      Remember what happened to Andromeda?
      I hope that next Mass Effect will be good, don't get me wrong, but i am more than certain that there will be many who will dislike it just on principle.

    The star child tells you to grab a hold of some power lines so you can enslave it, or to jump into a giant laser to turn everyone half-robot. Ever consider it's just trying a last ditch effort to have shepard off themself?

      @@iamblight707 doubt it. the Crucible was another variable that was added to the Catalyst. it's a variable that the Starchild has no control of. the Crucible was basically the override code. but not enough to disable the Starchild.

      @@johnP0908 The crucible was a massive power generator. The AI on board, the star child didn't have enough computing power to reach a conclusion aside from the cycle of harvesting and archiving organic life. Nor did it have enough power to send out the pulse it needed to accomplish destroy/synthesis (what it wanted)/or control across the galaxy. That was why the star child said it reached the new possibilities.
      It wanted the Shepard to choose which because it couldn't reach a consensus on it's own, like how the Geth wanted you to choose whether to destroy or preserve the heretics because it couldn't reach it's own consensus, trapping it in a paradox that kept it from acting.

      @@iamblight707 still, i personally, can't get over how dumb this kind of "interface" is. If those options of different "energy charges" (?) were predefined at the start of citadel creation, why to activate them, you either need to grab some energy cables, blow up some thing or straight up throw yourself into a tube/beam. That's a weird kind of interaction. It's that way for "dramatic" effect (it wasn't), but it's still doesn't make any kind of sense. Straight up a console with three buttons would be more logical and the option to jump into a beam later, if necessary. Even just a voice prompt to catalyst AI could do it

      I must take this gamble ! Progress, evolution... I fought too hard to just let go of those goals ! I made others (the Krogans especially) reliant of that vision ! • @JabamiLain
      @JabamiLain ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@demogorghon I tested my three endings, the image with the Krogan skeletons only appears in the Destroy. In "Control" however, in which the Relays are rebuilt, while images of Tuchanka destroyed and the Rachni still appear, there are no skeletons, only a depressed Krogan. In "Synthesis", an image of their future as a healed species shows up after an image of a ruined Tuchanka in the present;
      If you become close enough to Javik, he's gonna show you a shard containing the memories and the preserved emotions of his ancestors before the war. You can encourage him to either see it or not. If you do, at the final battle on Earth, he's gonna give you the shard, saying that with his people's legacy preserved in there, he plans to take his owm life after the war.
      One warning about the Krogans though. There are certain scenarios in the saga that can only become available if a specific stream of events is followed and a certain level of Renegade/Paragon/Both. I'm not sure if the Krogans extinction is one of such scenarios. But given I think the Relays determining if the skeletons image appears or not, I think that means the rest of the galaxy supports them in their darkest hour. And I don't know about you, but I think they would be more willing to help a race that helps in the fight.
      In my case, I had Wrex and Eve inspire the Krogans to fight. Granted, that sabotaging the Genophage had me lose Wrex, Eve and their clan. But I still had support from the other Krogan clans, Grunt and Maelon was still alive. I think that's the stream that has the galaxy be receptive towards helping the Krogans in their time of need.

    This is why I don't choose Control no matter if I'm Paragon or Renegade.
    Paragon: Noble intentions but absolute power corrupts absolutely, so those noble intentions to be a guardian may get corrupted over time.
    Renegade: Bruh, Shepard lays the cards on the table that they'll straight up destroy anyone who even threatens the peace. No need to wait for Shepard Catalyst to get corrupted, they will already become some petty dictator with the power to back it up.
    This is why I do Destroy or Synthesis. Though I usually do Destroy on personal preference to ensure the Reapers don't become a threat again later down the road.

      Absolute power corrupts absolutely only applies to a human mind. It's the selfishness and other flaws of the human mind that can't handle all that power, but in the control ending you become some kind of super ai thats clearly ascended past their former human state. I don't see how paragon shep could've been corrupted, maybe it's more like how morality changes overtime that eventually shep will be seen as "evil". Shep may not change, but people most definitely will.

      @@pl0xie494My thoughts exactly. I believe the cycle goes beyond simply destroying the reapers, it extends to advanced civilizations creating synthetics that evolve and turn on them, resulting in war. I didn't much like the geth, but the reality is that for peace to exist between creator and created an olive branch has to be extended. I love control because it amends the centuries old conflict of leviathan vs reaper, which is mirrored in quarian vs geth. Destroying all synthetic life is just waiting for the same story to play out in the far distant future. IMO

    • @MylesKillis
      @MylesKillis 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@pl0xie494yeah what people miss about control is that it’s the solution the catalyst was failing to achieve on its own. The evolution that would lead to peace is a human mind WHO VALUES DIVERSITY AND WAS ABLE TO UNITE THE GALAXY controlling the reapers. Destroy is literally just starting the cycle again and ignoring the lessons off the past. Synthesis is literally just making everyone synthetic.

    I played 90% Renegade from ME 1-3 but I got the Paragon Speech from the control ending.
    Maybe because
    1. I couldn't shoot Mordin. Genophage gets cured but no Eve.
    2. Managed to barter peace between the geth and quarians.
    My Shepard doesn't give af about anyone but the crew. So it's kinda weird hearing her say that she'll be a guardian of many when she killed the council and just shot everyone besides the crew.

    For some reason, I've always felt obligated to go through with the Destroy Ending.
    We made a commitment, a long time ago, toward breaking this cycle, and reducing the Reapers to little more than a bad memory.
    Too many had died along the way. Whatever collateral damage caused by the Destroy Ending can be easily and swiftly mended by those who survive it (I believe this is made explicitly clear by the starchild), so that is no concern.
    What mattered to me is that nobody, ever, would have to worry about these Reapers ever again. I don't want to control them and risk leaving their will in the hands of a fuckin' AI, nor do I want to turn the Galaxy into a collectivist Ayn Rand novel setting.
    Burn the Reapers. And our job will be over.
