I’ve had one for a few months. Anything over 20mph gets uncomfortable without full head/elbow/knee/glove gear. Perhaps a steering damper would make it better. I do have the rigid clamp it makes the stem feel better. It’s also too heavy to routinely put in the trunk of a car that I cared about. The scooter is a whole lot of fun, and seems more catered to a scooter enthusiast, rather than someone that wants a portable commuter scooter.
@@jacobm9574 I don’t own the varla (yet). I’m thinking about it. Looks sharp. I’m assuming the “c” type suspension gives you a real comfortable ride so the speed feels ok. Not like you’re going to fall off the thing.
I live in a golf cart community (even though there's no golf). Something like this is a good option for someone that doesn't want to spend 8-15K for a decked out cart but wants to use the smooth wide pathways to get around the suburban sprawl.
Yeah I had my first crash on these things which ended up taking out my jaw and wrist pretty good. Suffice to say, give one of these to someone who you hate and is arrogant enough not to wear a helmet and you might not be seein' them for a while.
Nice video. The Vsett 10+ is very much like this scooter but has 1200W per wheel for a bit more money. But this one seems to have the features to price to quality balance for most people.
One of the important things to mention i've found that the disc brakes are rarely used when you properly setup the regen setting. it almost always uses regen and then once you're almost stopped you can engage the disc brakes. I have had five flats in two months with this scooter and 700 miles on the odo. The good news is that i can fix a flat in about ten/fifteen minutes now instead of half hour or more.
This has answered all my questions but 2. #1 does it have cruise control function. #2 something in their description mentions 2 chargers....whats that all about?
I just received my new Eagle One and was upset to find there is a detent in the steering that causes the front wheel to pop into a straight ahead attitude. This is very annoying when trying to navigate at slow speeds because it keeps popping into this detent. Is this a standard feature why have I not seen one person mention it in any of the dozens of videos on this scooter? Also, is there anyway to disable it?
Yes it's been mentioned before. I can understand how it would be annoying considering it's there for stability at high speeds. No, can't do anything about it..
Hey Clint, Thanks for video. I did have one question for you. Battery usage, for example for the video you shot, how much battery usage was there? Thanks again.
The battery uses actually really good. They say on eco mode you can go 40 mi on one charge. Have not done a full battery drain but from my experience that's pretty accurate.
Clint great video how much do you get from a full battery miles?and how long does it take to charge from dead to full charge? I guess you are conservative with the different modes the battery would last longer..
Hard to say since I never let any of my batteries, whether it's a scooter or phone or camera, go all the way down. If I can help it. Check out their website as they give specs for runtimes and charge times.
Is there a good way to secure this to a bike rack or something like that? If I had one my use case would likely be going to places around my house but since it is so large I would not be able to bring it with me inside of businesses.
I have a question for you or anyone else. I am disabled and have two small young dogs that love walking but I can't take them and someone else does once in a while. Walking for me is somewhat a challenge when it comes to fatigue and some minor balance issues but not a lot. It's mainly fatigue and sensation that comes along with it. I was thinking of getting one of these and taking my dogs walking using this ...what do you think I should use? This scooter or something else perhaps. Any opinion for anyone would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much
A scooter is definitely an easy way to get around. But if you have balance issues, that may be of a concern. It doesn’t sound like you need to go very fast if you are just walking your dogs. This scooter is probably more than what you need. You don’t want to pay for speed when you don’t really need it. Although this is a very fun and well-built scooter, there are lesser expensive ones that don’t go as fast.
I've seen a pretty decent selection at Best Buy. I would start there. Don't get me wrong, the Varla is a great scooter. I just think it may be too much for your needs. But it could still be an option.
@@ClintGibbs thanks. I know it was a silly question, but just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything- like the line wasn’t long enough and it became a bug job. Thanks for the reply
Takes about 8 to 9 hours to charge with one charger and 4 to 5 hours to charge with a second charger. They say the range is up to 40 miles on eco mode.
I don’t have this scooter anymore, so I can’t go out and look at the hardware configuration but it’s just a clamp on like a brake lever. So I would imagine you can.
Just got one with dual 1200watt...its nuts. Dual mode is still too much for me.I prefer single for most riding. I find Im comfortable going to about 50kph max, beyond that I fear the wobble despite not yet having any. Pricey? I suppose, but these make very good alternative transportation for commuting from the burbs and they arent much more than a good bike. The negative to a bike commute is sweating and the extra hassle entailed. I get the impression most cities dont like them, probably because of other traditional transportation usersse are exactly what all the green energy people have asked, clean and efficient and do not take up a lot of room.
Had this specific scooter for 2 months then got rid of it … Scooter was fun and great while tires lasted horrible quality tire keep puncturing over and over. Had to get rid of it but scooter was fun. Wish tires were better
In the back of your trunk to get somewhere in the city… this thing is 77 lbs and $1600 so if you just want to get around in the city I’d get the joyor lr8
Also, you can buy it for your 8yr old. You can set it to not exceed the set speed regardless if you're on gear 3, turbo and dual. Example, set speed for your kids top speed to be 12mph and when is your turn to ride change it back to max speed.
People need to know that customer service or tech support is non existant. Once they get your $1600 you're screwed. They do not answer their phone number. It goes right to VM and they do not return calls. They also do not respond to emails either. They claim us support yet the voice mail lady has British accent. Their reviews online are screened as you will see there are only 5 star reviews. They do not publish any reviews less than 5 star. Im just trying to help future potential customers out. If you want to find out the hard way like myself then pull the trigger and purchase. Also read the warranty in detail it is worded very cleverly. Not really a 2 year warranty at all.
I have not tried calling their customer service line. Although I really don't do many of these kinds of reviews, after reading your comment, I think that calling customer service will be a part of a review.
That's very proactive. Enjoyed the review. I did not mean to take away from your review. Its what I actually experienced.. Its service after the sale especially advertising a 2 year warranty. Ty

Well $1600 is moped territory, so that's a hard value proposition to be a practical commuter.
I feel the same way. Over 20MPH gets a little scary.

If you want a faster acceleration from start, go to the P settings (P-12) and change it to 5.
How do you get to the P settings?

There is some rattling off-road with the cables and probably a little bit with the headset.

I think the eagle one is very stable at all speeds for me. Took it up to 32 mph briefly but stay around 18-22mph. I get great range

It looks like handle does not lock down when folded down, is that correct? Great Video
