Enjoyed how you invited others to give it a whirl so they could share their first impressions with your audience. A different and refreshing type of scooter review… Loved the laying down of a little rubber on the road… so funny!
That thing is nuts! We just bought 3 Juiced Bikes and love them...also, we have the scooters that were brand new surplus rental scooters that never got used because of COVID. They are okay. But this Varla thing...WOW. Thanks for the vid.
BTW if you press both the throttle and the brake nothing bad will happen. The brake lever has a sensor on it so when it is engaged, your throttle is disabled, even if press it all the way down. I use to own this scooter and I don't think it's that safe above 30mph. You could get unrecoverable accelerated wobbles that can eventually throw you off. It's not a mater of if you bail, but when you'll get majorly hurt if you don't have full body protection. My son fell at 10mph on this and was bed ridden for a few months due to road rash all over his body. You will at least need a full face helmet. Face plants with bad injuries are common on these even at the lower speeds like 15+ let alone higher. Most injuries I've seen are skin grinds to the bone, broken jaws, noses, and teeth. Also elbow and knee pads are a must if you care about those joints. If you want to go faster than 30mph with safety, you'll need a higher end scooter like the Nami or Dualtron. They are rated to 60+mph and are perfectly safe up to 40mph. I wear full motorcycle leathers and helmet when I ride these.
Damm. I was just gonna go for a ride. Now I'm like emmmmm...but for real. I generally keep it under 30 ..I really just like having acceleration ans hillclimbing ability on tap. 40mph for any sustained time on almost any scooter is sketchy...and 40mph requires like perfect road surface. I think I maxed out at 32 mph briefly here n there which is pretty quick because you get there in just a few seconds. Lotta torque
A few years back when in the Navy went to Siapan a bunch of us rented mopeds to tour the island...jumping speed bumps was just as fun.. not something I would do on a electric scooter!! ..As I have gotten older my first question would be how far is the hospital and do they have a trauma center... I enjoyed the video ...Thanks for sharing
When it comes to these scooters, the American rule applies-you definitely get what you pay for. The varla is actually on the reasonable end of the price range for this type of scooter.
Varla has to be extremely happy with this video. I'm looking at this scooter and after this review I am buying one. Having all sizes ride it was a huge deal. Very good.
Wow that's fast. We seen you testing it out before we left Talona ridge. So far have you used it looking for a campsite? Does Sheila like it? Happy Thanksgiving.
I wondered why RV Daydream enjoyed theirs so much, but you explanation of the ease of getting out of the truck makes sense. I see that Long. Long honeymoon reviewed one as well. Good job 😘🖖🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
Yup that's a good Varla Escooter than mine, I have here a Smash Mars Escooter small 5' inches solid wheels without suspension I swear I felt every grooves, every roughness of the road also giving me turbulence, maybe soon i'll put a big wheels and suspension God bless
My friend just bought an eagle. Says it's the single best purchase he's ever made. Its a rare combination of speed, power, mileage suspension and durability for under $2K.
Looks like a lot of fun! When u return to Hilton Head from what I’ve read electric bikes r allowed so I’m assuming electric scooters would be also! Their sand is hard as a rock! No sinking in fact u need a special screw device to put a darn umbrella in! Happy Thanksgiving! Head for Palmetto Dunes public beach access it’s beautiful!
One thing that concerned me from another video that you didn't mention here. Apparently the brake levers are reversed? Whether we're coming from bicycles or motorcycles, here in the USA at least, the right brake lever is ALWAYS the REAR brake. That can be an issue when that's what you're expecting and you're not applying brakes equally, since on a typical two wheeled vehicle, the front brake is 80% of your stopping power, but the rear brake is more stable if you want to avoiding wheel locking and a nose-dive.
Yes. Get the most powerful scooter your money can buy. Now for the sake of speed but the true test of a scooter is when the battery is at 50%. I'm 240 lbs and when my scooter is at 50% it halves my speed. This is why you want a high speed scooter not just for the sake of speed or bragging it's about helping you keep up.
Scooter is super cool! Kind of Interested to know if Todd unwraps all his ‘presents’ this way - lol. Campground was really nice looking. Hope you have a marvelous Thanksgiving.
It's a coinflip when buying from China. I ended up getting sent a broken scooter, and after contacting support, they just sent me broken replacement parts. Its been a nightmare putting in the hours installing the new parts just to discover they are also broken.
When braking the way you did, if wheels lock up and start sliding, it'll actually require ore distance to stop than if the wheels just slowed down... traction
This scooteris def quick enough. I couldn't imagine doing 60-70 on a weped or Rion....and unless you are professionally racing on a closed course in full gear you're asking to die..
It's funny to see these newbs on these slow scooters think they are fast. Even my Nami Burn-e which has twice the speed and acceleration of this is till a yawn fest. When you got nothing to compare against everything seems fast. I need something that pulls my arms out of my shoulder sockets like my race Jetski does. Scooters have a long way to go.
Love this, and.....I found out they make a seat you can attach to it for those of us who need to sit down.

What fun! Beautiful campground
Great video. What a nice day to film...for real !!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING guys! Stay safe.
Wow !! That thing is amazing !! I’m guessing this was at the meet up, the campground looks amazing. Great video, looked like an great time.
We saw you on it when you were testing it out . It was crazy how fast it would go.

Cool, Wondering about gravel travel?
Wow! That looks like it goes fast!
The scooter brought out the kid in all who rode it. It was fun to watch.
What is the name of the campground/resort you’re at?
I was going to ask them that too. It’s gorgeous.
Talona Ridge RV resort in Ellijay Georgia- it’s one of the most beautiful RV parks we had ever been to
Oh my gosh!!! That looked like sooooo much fun!!!!!
Love the scooter. What park are you staying in. Very nice place!!!!
Love it, Jason ran thru our camp site on it lol. Scared Cindy alittle. Awesome video, as usual.
A few years back when in the Navy went to Siapan a bunch of us rented mopeds to tour the island...jumping speed bumps was just as fun.. not something I would do on a electric scooter!!

I love my Varla Eagle!
ER visit waiting to happen...
Love the scooter... a bit pricey though in my opinion but, for those that can afford it, enjoy!
When it comes to these scooters, the American rule applies-you definitely get what you pay for. The varla is actually on the reasonable end of the price range for this type of scooter.
Very cool! Enjoy!
Great fun video as usual! I love how he mother hened Sheila. Can’t wait to get our RV and go to that park!
Pretty cool scooter. Switch it Up!!
I loved riding scooters in Long Beach. We just road it all over Long Beach. So much fun.
WOW! Looks fun and scary!!
Can you choose which motor to use in a single motor mode?
Looks like fun!
Looks like fun. Saving our money for some ebikes!!
Varla has to be extremely happy with this video. I'm looking at this scooter and after this review I am buying one. Having all sizes ride it was a huge deal. Very good.
Good day , have you found a solution to reduce the stem flex ?
No we have not- it is slightly annoying :-)
Great video, great information!
I’d love to try one out
Cool scooter. But my main question is , what campground is that? It look awesome !!
This is Talona Ridge RV park in Ellijay Georgia- it’s beautiful!
Now that you put all the parts on, is the handlebar less flex?
So many toys. Would luv to have one of those, but I can only carry so much in my rig.
Wow that's fast. We seen you testing it out before we left Talona ridge. So far have you used it looking for a campsite? Does Sheila like it? Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you for watching!
That scooter is cool! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving
Can you pick motor in single mode?
Yes you can….when I (Sheila) ride that’s what I do
Thank you Sheila, but csn you choose between front or rear motor or which one is powered?
Another awesome video. Looks like a fun scooter. Thanks for sharing
Great video. Going to jump over and check them out.
Great video. I'm so clumsy I probably fall it.
That's cool Looks like fun
CRAZY!!! May have to look into one of those! 🛴 💨
OMG! I have got to get me one of these. That thing is awesome.
My friend just bought an eagle. Says it's the single best purchase he's ever made. Its a rare combination of speed, power, mileage suspension and durability for under $2K.
We do love this scooter!

Looks like Todd is following one of the Elliott family Mottos... If at first you don't succeed, read the directions! Have fun!
Only if there's a sale at the grocery store!!
When braking the way you did, if wheels lock up and start sliding, it'll actually require ore distance to stop than if the wheels just slowed down... traction
Wow, that’s a kick butt scooter. Well I can see that be super handy. 🍻
That is FAST!
What is the Switch It Up discount code?
We just did the review - not an affiliate so they didn't give us one...bummer lol
But what about being on gravel
22!
Love my varla eagle 1.....wooooshhh
Love it
Looks like fun but a little scary.....
Varla sounds like Darla and Darla from The Little Rascals was the cutest.sSo yes get a Varla.😄
I bought a Hover-1 Alpha for like 400 bucks, goes 18MPH with a 12mile range. I just cant justify dropping 1,700 dollars on a scooter. lol
18MPH is fast enough right!!??
@@SwitchItUpLife as a 40 year old dad to be, imma have to say maybe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ haha
Love everything about it but the price.
This one is so far the cheapest for the specs that you've got. Just got one and it's awesome !
Looks like fun but us older folks like to have a seat.
looks like a lot of fun. great for getting around the parks
Comment (For TH-cam)! 😀
Dose the scooter have a name yet?

Cool but I still prefer a bike
Maybe you should read the instructions
Enjoy waiting for parts cor months and the customer service is just errrrr
Well that does not sound like fun nor something we want to! Sucks that is your experience
Doat

You don't need a scooter over 30mph = bad accident
Pot hole and scooter equals.....

Looks like fun!
