I grew up hearing Al Jolson, considered the World's Greatest Entertainer at the time, sing this and this is considered 'his song' by that generation!

In jazz, they used to say Ella Fitzgerald could sing the phone book and bring down the house. I am now convinced you can play any song and make it astounding. Not just in the way that jazz musicians change songs and then go into improve mode (which I love) but you create in a whole new, refreshing way. Somebody is going to put out a Playing Stride the Stephanie Trick Method tutorial...hmm...in the future people will wonder if the pianist does any Trick Stride.
