When I make up lines from the master cyl, I run the loops horizontal on the rare chance an air bubble gets in there. They'll just about self bleed if there's no high spots. Damn fine car, kid!

Just a little tip make sure to leave the ends to be flared fairly straight for a good 5 or 6 inches because most flare tools take up a few inches of line while its being flared and the line needs to be straight while in the tool. You can put your bend back in close to the fitting after the flare is done. Don't forget to put your fitting on first too.

when dealing with rusty brake fittings there's no guarantee they'll come free without breaking, but here's the best way to go about it:
    1. Use a brake fitting wrench (aka "flare nut" wrench)
    2. Hit the threads with a shot of penetrating oil. Anything remotely rusty, doesn't hurt to use penetrant and let it sit for 5 minutes or so
    3. Work at it slow, start by tapping at the wrench with a light hammer or another wrench. The shock sometimes helps loosen the rust. Keep doing this til it starts giving way and turning

Dylan McCool, I am in the process of restoring an 1972 Opel kadett B and there's been so many times I've wanted to just give up and leave it and when I watch your videos it makes me want to finish it off again, your good at what you do keep it up👌

Agreed, I can't stand it when guys do that. Personally, I'm a fan of the cragar magnums, I've always liked those, but there are definitely plenty of options that don't involve low pros on a freaking classic!

You got to be over 50 years old ..that charger will look like shit with under 18inch rims ....hell the new chargers from the factory that has any type of package comes with 19 inch rims even the challengers

The reason why there has to be loops from the master is the lines ave to have some give to them. That allows for movement.

Use coat hanger wire or any hard wire to make a template of ur line u want to make then duplicate it in brake line after

I use solder wire. Much softer to bend and shape but still retains a good copy to make a brake line from.

Nice job. The work is progressing nicely. The most important things to remember when doing brake lines are neatness, chafing points, kinking and, strong connections. Looks like you've hit them all except for the connections. Once the engine and transmission are sorted the fine detail work will begin. My experience is that lists and flow charts are indispensable for this work. Concentration and skill are required and that's distracting enough. Breaking down each task into their components, like tasks accomplished at a time, the whole will take care of itself. Using lists and flow charts will help you keep your focus staying on course. The work goes surprisingly quickly this way. I hope this is of help to you.
You've got this in the bag. This isn't your first rodeo nor the last. Thanks.

You are 100% right the pre bend brake line are too expensive I bought 25 ft of brake line fuel line when I was building my 1967 Firebird and it was a great learning experience how to bend them and flare them the proper way to hold pressure at the end you learn a whole lot and you save some money for some other parts for your project this Hobby is a beautiful one it puts your mind somewhere else you think a lot when you doing it and even when you just taking it easy sitting down on the couch or outside on the porch but you always thinking about the mechanics of the car you working on and how to do things better so I agree with you sometimes you just have to do things from scratch keep up the great work with the charger I like that year a lot 69 when the charger was wet it look good if I was you I just will fix any rust holes and I well shoot some clear coat on it high gloss if you don't like high gloss you can go with a mat look but the car is coming along big thumbs up for you my friend

Not sure if you know about this but I'll throw it out there. You can also get copper/nickel brake and fuel lines. Very corrosion resistant, they use them up north alot. The great thing about them is they are much easier to bend. No special tools required. You can do it with your hands.

Bashing the Cordoba.. I did something very similar to my 1st 79 300 rust bucket before I stripped and junked it, except it was in the snow. Afterwards, I felt bad about it, but that car was so far gone... I mean basketball sized holes in the floor and the front frame that was giving way.. BUT, that drivetrain... Couldn't break it! Also, yeah, I used a regular bending tool to use to make 45's and 90* bends on my brake lines, but then used a small can to make loops in the lines off the master, and they look pretty close to stock, and serve their purpose. I admit to wearing out my Ridgid brand flare tool, on that car. Kinda disappointed by that tool. Anyhow, 1 step closer on that Charger. I like it! Where did you get the steering coupler?

not any kind of hate but the prebends are factory copies and the engineers and people made them that way for a good reason. IE clearing steering and keeping away from hot items like exhaust and moving parts and also using a shortest route to the block.. Trust me I mainly copied the factory ones as best as I could if I had to replace one. It always worked for the best that way.
