You can also flush out the spray triggers with water after every use and they will last indefinitely. I’ve had this experience with bleach.

A note on the pressol bottles / triggers. I’ve used both the household and industrial grade bottles for over a year and would like to share some feedback. To start, P&S break buster still breaks them over time, sad but no surprise. That being said, Matt told me he’s working with pressol to see what can be done about this. On the other hand, the triggers are not only more durable than average triggers, they are also dual action and have very good atomization. Are they necessary, absolutely not, but the dual action is very nice when using products that are used heavily. When looking at the bottom line, they are not the highest value, but when using tools over years, little things like reduced hand pain from squeezing half as much adds more value than the little costs saved in certain applications. Just my $.02

Kenny, I have similar thoughts. I have quite a few Industrial trigger sprayers but I've been using mostly the Household sprayers for the home. The Pledge All Surface cleaner, Adam's Microfiber cleaner, and Optimum Power Clean all have performed really well with the Pressol sprayers. As a default back I'd say it's always good practice to have a few grey Tolco sprayers for backup with their respective bottle. In this case I love the P&S quart sized bottles for this purpose. Sprayers are a consumable, so buy a few in bulk when they fail!

Id recommend pulling the spray head out after use and spray the harsh chemical back into the bottle. And screwing it back on. I know this may sound weird and time consuming but anything higher on the PH scale would benefit from this as it would make the spray head last much longer on say iron remover or brake buster. Don’t know if you practice this but it’s a tip I’ve seen some detailers do. And when you care enough to spend 15$ on a bottle only make sense to take a quick minute to take care of it.

I always keep a bottle of water with me and when I get done using a cleaner that is really low PH or really high pH which is acidic or alkaline, I always insert the nozzle from the cleaner I just used into the bottle of water and spray it probably about 10 times to flush out the chemicals that was in it. This makes the nozzles last a whole lot longer. I always use nozzles for that specific pH level.

Very well said Luke. The trigger heads are the failure point on every bottle I have ever owned over the past 40+ years of detailing (including all the high end brands such as Kwazar, IK, Pressol, etc etc) so you'd think that at least one manufacturer of detailing equipment around the world would have figured out how to make a trigger head that doesn't fail or at least last's for a reasonable amount of time for the money. I think most detailers would actually pay more money for a quality trigger head that doesn't fail so often, but probably not the general public who probably buy the cheapest bottle they can find.

The reason the trigger spray heads fail is because the seals fail. All trigger sprays have chemical resistant seals inside of them but overtime the corrosive and harsh nature of the products your using will damage and eat away at the seals. If your looking for a long lasting high quality option I'd recommend getting a high end kwazar sprayer and just replacing the seals when they fail, all kwazar sprayers have replacement seal kits available.

I learned right then I didn't want this to happen to me. Have a suggestion use distilled water in another bottle to clean the spray nozzle. Don't know if this would work but it's worth a try. Ik makes a mean pump sprayers and foamer, but all hand spray triggers eventually fail. Like Luke, I keep a lot in stock and a few on hand when I'm mobile detailing. About once a week I do take them apart to soak in hot water, especially in hot or cold temps. Products tend to gum up in the nozzles and pump pistons. It will improve the longevity of even the cheap ones, but it's highly advised to get the chemical resistant ones.

I unscrew the sprayer and spray the product back into the bottle. Then pump plain water through the spray head to flush it out. Remove the water and keep pumping until it's completely empty and replace it on the original bottle. The sprayer is flushed and has no chemicals or water sitting inside the spray head.

You're gonna do the every time? When you can buy a bunch of cheap, and long lasting triggers? Most detailers carry 10 bottles, that's about 15 minutes if you don't get distracted, and if you're squeezing, screwing, and unscrewing nonstop. When in 15 seconds you can swap a new one for less than a bag of chips.

I have experienced really good durability for quite a few years with the Zep bottles and triggers from Home Depot. My big issue with those and other bottles like it is that they are very top heavy. If I am low on product and the driveway is a little slanted, these bottles tip over very easily. I might not need to fill the bottle to get the job done but I have to stop and fill the bottle so it won't tip over when I set it down. This drives me to use other bottles. The worst bottles I have ever tried is from Chemical Guys. The only bottles that I have commonly snap at the threads. Multiple brand new sprayer tubes have been kinked.

Any recommendations of triggers for things like acetone, alcohols, etc... Not a detailer but a cleaner and when it comes to hot liquids like alcohols or that nature you can use a trigger for a bit and swap out for another cheapie but then have to deal with a spray or mist you don't prefer.

Thanks for the information. But, when I buy those grey cheap sprayers you are promoting, I find they don't spray a nice, fine, even mist....and if I try, they sort of inconsistently mist and dribble. I hate the dribbles. Now, I have some I use for my garden and listen....when my wife is using one and it leaks onto her hands, or the spray is uneven, that is NOT COOL! I would think detailers (the reason I came here) would be demanding never leak, no dribble and consistent even mist regardless of how hard the trigger is pulled. I expected more. I used to get some really good ones from a 'detailer' supply company, but now the same brand is total crap (competing by price using cheap imported junk). Very sad. I would pay the extra $2-$3 bucks for a good sprayer/spray bottle.
